Telltale Games

Well as soon as the PS3 version arrives... I swear I will be lost in the time-travelly goodness... Well that or the free version of Episode 1 (laptop was a bargain buy 4 years ago, so hrm... not gonna risk being unable to even play it) :P

It isn't available on PSN yet? I always wondered how it plays on a console. I heard it's supposed to be available for iPads too, I guess that would work really well.

They might have a demo for the first episode, so you can see if it runs on your laptop.

Well he says himself in the review that he doesn't even like Telltale's games in general to begin with... which basically invalidates his whole review imo.

But anyway, I've long ago stopped expecting any kind of professionalism or competence from Kotaku, so meh.

Yeah, I mean, reviews are opinions and all.

And if it was someone who enjoyed previous TT games and was disappointed by BTTF? Sure. That's fine. At least he was in the target audience.

But here it's basically "I never liked these games. I'm going to review this new one. Oh, surprise! I don't like it!"

How is that not a completely retarded process?

I said it's BARELY a review. It wastes too many words on shit that really doesn't matter and doesn't use enough detailing the actual qualities or drawbacks of the game. I don't give a shit who the ideal player is or "why I should care" about the game. The whole point of a review is to tell you why you should or shouldn't care. Those sections shouldn't even exist. And by having fake interviews as a review system it severely limits just what they can address about the game because they're playing it off as answering one question at a time.

Seems like the Jurassic Park game is set to have its first episode come out this spring !

Seems no characters of the movie will be making appearances and the protagonist will simply be a JP employee.

In my opinion, that's probably the best direction they could've gone in.

I didn't want to just replay one of the movies, and Jurassic Park isn't exactly a story for which I need to see what happens next.

Game is supposedly set after the first movie.

Well I wouldn't expect something identical to Heavy Rain. I think they were just making that comparison because Heavy Rain is the obvious QTE example.

But yeah, I don't think JP would work as a regular TT adventure game. And I'm also curious about the graphics. Can't wait to see some footage or screenshots.

Telltale's an amazing developer. What really separates them from other devs, to me, is their pure interest and happiness with the fact that they are making what they are making. They're clearly Sam & Max fans, and they're clearly BttF fans, and their attention to detail is just amazing. They're one of my favorite developers.
