rainetemplar
Yeah, it keeps happening.. They may have a solution at the Telltale Forums. Going to check that out.
Mister Jack
Worst case scenario, you might be able to avoid it by using WASD. I know it isn't ideal, but...
rainetemplar
It seems to be the only way. Well, maybe it's for the best.. I wasn't fond of the new controls anyway, they're quite frustrating. Edited December 26, 2010 by rtemplar
Mister Jack
I guess it was to make a ps3 port easier or something, but yeah I preferred the old way.
berieber
Well as soon as the PS3 version arrives... I swear I will be lost in the time-travelly goodness... Well that or the free version of Episode 1 (laptop was a bargain buy 4 years ago, so hrm... not gonna risk being unable to even play it)
rainetemplar
Well as soon as the PS3 version arrives... I swear I will be lost in the time-travelly goodness... Well that or the free version of Episode 1 (laptop was a bargain buy 4 years ago, so hrm... not gonna risk being unable to even play it) Â It isn't available on PSN yet? I always wondered how it plays on a console. I heard it's supposed to be available for iPads too, I guess that would work really well. Â They might have a demo for the first episode, so you can see if it runs on your laptop.
berieber
No demo on PSN yet, and no, slated for Q1 2011... MY guess is to get two or three episodes out on PC so that they can bundle it all up and the people don't get agitated when they pay for 5 episodes and only 3 are done... but I dunno, I can wait. As long as I avoid all spoilers I'll be fine.
Mister Jack
Luke Plunkett dropped some serious haterade on Back to the Future. Luke Plunkett doesn't know what the fuck he's talking about.
toxicitizen
Well he says himself in the review that he doesn't even like Telltale's games in general to begin with... which basically invalidates his whole review imo. Â But anyway, I've long ago stopped expecting any kind of professionalism or competence from Kotaku, so meh. Mister Jack
Why would someone who doesn't even like Telltale review a Telltale game? That'd be like asking me to do a play by play on Monday Night Football. I wouldn't know what the hell I'm saying.
toxicitizen
Yeah, I mean, reviews are opinions and all. Â And if it was someone who enjoyed previous TT games and was disappointed by BTTF? Sure. That's fine. At least he was in the target audience. Â But here it's basically "I never liked these games. I'm going to review this new one. Oh, surprise! I don't like it!" Â How is that not a completely retarded process?
Mister Jack
I hate their new review system anyway. The red and blue ones they did before were fine. They could have been tweaked a bit but they didn't need to get thrown out the window. The way they do it now is like "Baby's First Game Review".
Faiblesse Des Sens
more like "damn i actually have to read the whole review now instead of counting reds vs blues?"
Mister Jack
The way it is now barely even qualifies as an actual review. This "conversation" style is fucking stupid and obnoxious.
Faiblesse Des Sens
How is it not a review? It "reviews" the game. Though it is very obnoxious.
Mister Jack
I said it's BARELY a review. It wastes too many words on shit that really doesn't matter and doesn't use enough detailing the actual qualities or drawbacks of the game. I don't give a shit who the ideal player is or "why I should care" about the game. The whole point of a review is to tell you why you should or shouldn't care. Those sections shouldn't even exist. And by having fake interviews as a review system it severely limits just what they can address about the game because they're playing it off as answering one question at a time. toxicitizen
Seems like the Jurassic Park game is set to have its first episode come out this spring !  http://www.shogungamer.com/news/telltale-games-finally-sheds-some-light-their-jurassic-park-game  Seems no characters of the movie will be making appearances and the protagonist will simply be a JP employee. In my opinion, that's probably the best direction they could've gone in. I didn't want to just replay one of the movies, and Jurassic Park isn't exactly a story for which I need to see what happens next.  Game is supposedly set after the first movie. Mister Jack
So it plays like Heavy Rain huh? I was wondering how they'd do it. The series wouldn't fit too well with the normal adventure game style. Kinda wondering how TT handles realistic graphics over stylized.
toxicitizen
Well I wouldn't expect something identical to Heavy Rain. I think they were just making that comparison because Heavy Rain is the obvious QTE example. Â But yeah, I don't think JP would work as a regular TT adventure game. And I'm also curious about the graphics. Can't wait to see some footage or screenshots.
Mister Jack
is it coming out after BTTF is over or are they doing both at the same time?
toxicitizen
Well if it's coming out this spring, I guess the two might overlap a little. Â They're certainly working on both at the same time.
toxicitizen
If germans are to be trusted, then here are some shitty quality pics of the JP game. Â http://playfront.de/erste-details-bilder-zu-jurassic-park/ Â From what I can make, doesn't look bad at all.
Mister Jack
Niiiice. Can't wait. TT makes awesome games; suck my cock Kotaku.
Mr. GOH!
Is it normal to feel remorse for liking Poker Night at the Inventory?
BrainHurtBoy...2
Telltale's an amazing developer. What really separates them from other devs, to me, is their pure interest and happiness with the fact that they are making what they are making. They're clearly Sam & Max fans, and they're clearly BttF fans, and their attention to detail is just amazing. They're one of my favorite developers.
