Telltale Games

Aaaargh, I just read Luke Plunkett's review, and he brought me to a rage face. RAGE! angry.gif

I mean, I'm not a fan of the "direct control" scheme of Telltale's recent games, but it's not bad to the point of being unusable… While personally, I prefer point-and-click because it only requires one hand to do everything (leaving the other hand free to do… ahem… other things wink.gif), I wouldn't mind for Telltale to add an option in the future to switch between the two.

Is it normal to feel remorse for liking Poker Night at the Inventory?

Not at all. Poker Night has some shoddy AI at times (like opponents who go all-in when they basically have nothing at all for their hand, or they repeatedly fold over and over), but it more than makes up for it with dialogue. So many funny lines.

Doc going by the name "Carl Sagan" in 1930's Hill Valley.

Hahaha yeah. Also, when I had to pick a fake name for Marty I went with Harry Callahan.

I thought it was appropriate considering all the Clint Eastwood references in BTTF 3

Any of you guys know if Episode 2's release date has been confirmed?

Oh and just came across this: http://www.joystiq.com/2011/01/21/the-walking-dead-game/

Actually read about it yesterday but it was on some unknown shit blog I'd never seen before, so I took it with a grain of salt.

But now that Joystiq are running it, I guess it must be true.

So Telltale have some kind of an event next month and are set to reveal not one, not two or three, but five new projects!?

And the way this is said really doesn't sound like it's 5 "episodes" of the same game but rather 5 separate titles.

One of them is said to based on something currently big on TV and in the comic book world.

Joystiq seem to think it's The Walking Dead, but that only seems to be their guess, not any kind of confirmation.

Personally, I can't think of anything else, though.

  • 3 weeks later...

It's out now. I finished it yesterday.

What?! Damnit! I was expecting some kind of warning from Steam... Like "Hey, this just got added to your game library!"

Now I see the game's store page says it's available... but this figures.

It comes out the minute I stop actively trying to figure out when it comes out... Stupid irony <_<

Anyway, thanks for the heads up, man.

I'll be downloading it as soon as tonight's episode of The Big Bang Theory finishes downloading :D

Also, turns out those rumors that Telltale are working on a Walking Dead game were true!

Don't worry, it snuck up on everyone. Telltale didn't announce a release date for some reason.

Supposedly it's closer to Heavy Rain. Not EXACTLY the same but if you think along that vein you're apparently on the right track.

I'll be fine with that as long as David Cage has nothing to do with this.

David Cage has a few interesting ideas but he's in need of an editor at best and a total hack at worst. This thread for Telltale probably isn't the best place to have a discussion on the subject of Cage so I'll just forward you to this first in a series of articles which covers plenty of the complaints I have with him.

Thanks, I had a quick look while in class and the interview bit made me laugh. Also made me realize I don't remember much of Indigo Prophecy's plot. I played it on PS2 when it originally came out. I grabbed it on Steam a few years ago, but the PC controls are just horrible, and the game won't detect my gamepad properly, so I haven't replayed it yet.

I'll read that more attentively later on, but I just wanted to say that I like Cage's games not for his writing (which is admittedly lacking) but for the way they present gameplay differently. Anyway, enough off topic now. :P

Holy fucking shit:

http://pc.ign.com/articles/115/1150947p1.html

Telltale is going to be doing a King's Quest reboot!?

All the article says is, "More details at E3."

I'm not really sure how that works - Activision has the KQ rights, if that 'Silver Lining' debacle was any indication.

Wow though! I guess Telltale would be the appropriate company to do this, since the original team is long scattered.

Man... I'm going to cross the heck out of my fingers on this one.
