TCP
So, the free games are unopenable if your PSPlus subscription expires, but what if Final Fantasy V (that you got for free) is on your PSP? Is the PSP set up to deactivate games?
Luftwaffles
Is FarCry 2 any good? Â I think Far Cry 2 is fantastic, but it's definitely not for everybody. It gets a lot of flak on the internet for a few things, one being the amount of driving, plus the amount of checkpoints that you usually have to drive through that keep respawning, and the second being the amount of bullets that the enemies take is the exact same amount that you take. To put it simply, you die with 10 bullets, and your enemies die with 10 bullets. I personally think it's a really neat element, and makes the game incredibly challenging at the end, with you having to check and scout every area before you attack, making sure you eliminate snipers and grenade launching vehicles before you run in and attack everybody. I've heard it called the Dark Souls of FPSs, and I think that makes some sense. Â Of course, I recommend it, but if you want a nice, happy, open world where not everybody is hostile to you, it's not that game. It has its flaws. SixTwoSixFour
I've heard it called the Dark Souls of FPSs, and I think that makes some sense. Â That seems pretty silly to me. It's kinda tough, but it's nowhere NEAR as tough as Dark/Demon's Souls. I feel like Far Cry 2 was a pretty interesting game that ultimately wasn't varied enough. The formula gets too repetitive after a bit, and you get tired of it. The core systems are very interesting, however. The gun upkeep is underused, but fun, the health system is quite good, the missions are fairly fun... it does a lot right. I just wish it had kept things fresh throughout. Â Yeah, I don't see it completely either, as the checkpointing is completely and utterly different, but the damage, what with you taking as many bullets as the enemy and dying really quickly may be sort of where that idea comes from. Â Definitely worth picking up for free, though, to answer the question.

TheMightyEthan
I dunno, maybe I'm weird, but so far almost every time I've looked at the deals I'm like "yep, nothing I'm interested in".
Thursday Next
No interest in free Shank 2, free Canabalt or free Silent Hill? Edited March 30, 2012 by Thursday Next
TheMightyEthan
Not really, no.
Thursday Next
Fair enough. Canabalt I can take or leave, but I really enjoyed Shank, so I'm looking forward to Shank 2 and Silent Hill is a classic. I've also discovered a couple of gems, most recently Costume Quest, which I might otherwise never have picked up. All in all, I think it's a great service. Strangelove
I also got Costume Quest through Plus. It was a such a good game. I never would have bought it otherwise.
CorgiShinobi
Didn't think this deserved its own thread, but given how this relates to PS+ members having cloud storage for save data, I'd post a link to an up-to-date (as of March 18th) list of locked save files as well as other saves that don't fully transfer data.  PS3 Trophies's Official Locked Saved Games  Interesting to note, you'll have games locked to your PSN ID, but you can easily remedy that by creating a User Profile on another PS3 and logging in to PSN. toxicitizen
Holy shit, the free games this week! Simply insane  I've been so far really happy with the value I got out of Plus considering all the free games I've accumulated so far. But fuck, inFAMOUS 2 alone makes the entire subscription worth it. It comes at a perfect time, too. I've yet to play it and have been really wanting to the past few weeks. Probably would've bought it last month if I wasn't completely broke.  Took a while to download but it's installing now. Can't wait to play it
TCP
Man, I bought inFamous 2 (retail) for like 35 dollars two weeks ago. I'm a fool!! Downloading the Ratchet game, that Lara Croft one, and LittleBigPlanet 2, which I already own on blu-ray but it's the kind of game that's nice to have downloaded, I think. Strangelove
I hear inFamous 2 is like 14gb, so I think youre better off.
TCP
Just like, two hours ago I put a 500gb harddrive in the old PS3. So of course, I have to fill it up.
TheMightyEthan
It's 15, actually.
toxicitizen
My download said 14. And since the wifi on my PS3 is slow as all fucking hell, I started downloading it as soon as the store updated yesterday and it only completed tonight. Â I am so glad I upgraded my hdd last year because man I would be going nuts right now. I was shocked earlier today when I checked and realized I'm already down to 80GB free out of my 300. All that PS+ crap adds up pretty fast. Some of it I'll probably never play so I should probably do some cleaning in there. Faiblesse Des Sens
Get that shit wired. PS3s only have Wireless-G and not N.
Eleven
It's 15, actually. Â Since we are being exact, (though it says 14 on the DL!), you need twice that to actually install it. But only on that initial install.
TheMightyEthan
The first time I tried to DL it it said 14, but the second time (I didn't have enough HDD space the first time) it said 15. Â @FDS: In my experience Wireless G tops out at about 1.5 MB/s, though in theory you should be able to get about 7, but even wired my PS3 never exceeds about 750 KB/s anyway, so really it doesn't matter. Â For reference on the PC I can sustain downloads at about 3 MB/s, so it's not my internet connection. TheFlyingGerbil
Didnt' one of the updates make it so you only need the file size in space to download and install. I know they did that on the PSP at least, though maybe that was because you didn;t have as much space to play with on the memory card
toxicitizen
Get that shit wired. PS3s only have Wireless-G and not N. Â Yeah, I really want to do that but it's a huge headache. The router (and phone line) is in another room and there's a long broadband cable going through a hole in the wall from it and to my desktop PC. I could buy a second long cable but it wouldn't fit in the same hole so yeah... Â Unless there's such a thing as a y-splitter for broadband cables? Â @FDS: In my experience Wireless G tops out at about 1.5 MB/s, though in theory you should be able to get about 7, but even wired my PS3 never exceeds about 750 KB/s anyway, so really it doesn't matter. Â For reference on the PC I can sustain downloads at about 3 MB/s, so it's not my internet connection. Â See, that would actually be an improvement for me. 750 kb/s is my average top speed. Steam downloads sometimes go a little faster but not by a lot.
TCP
FLD, out of curiosity, who is your ISP?
toxicitizen
Bell but it's an old Sympatico account with unlimited bandwidth (which they no longer offer). They tried to get us to "upgrade" quite a few times but they can't force us to change so I just keep turning them down.
