Playstation Plus

Somehow I missed this when it was posted last week, but holy shit this is a fantastic month for US PS+.

http://blog.us.playstation.com/2013/10/31/playstation-plus-november-preview/

PS3

  • Ibb & Obb
  • Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen
  • Binary Domain

PS Vita

  • Soul Sacrifice
  • Odd World: Stranger's Wrath HD

PS4

  • Resogun
  • Contrast

The only one out of all of those that I'm not interested in is Binary Domain.  I'm especially excited about Dragon's Dogma because I was always interested in it but never sure enough that I would like it to actually plunk down money on it.

*Edit* - The European one is also good, but I'm less excited about it for obvious reasons:

No, once you "buy" it it's associated with your account as long as you keep PS+, you don't even have to actually download it.  In fact you can let your sub lapse, and if you ever re-up your free games will reactivate.

Because it's presented as a free month, not a free forever from now on.

I don't see what this has to do with what I said. This answers the question about what happens if you don't subscribe anymore (no access) and not what happens if you do keep subscribing.

Your free month is just a free month of the subscription. It's not special. You just get a month of access. If you want to keep accessing the service and the games you've gotten for free on the service then you'll need to keep subscribing. There are no freebies here.

The free month means you can only download the game for free for a limited time, but once it's downloaded you can play it as long as you are a subscriber. You can even delete it and redownload it later as long as you first downloaded it while it was still free.

Damn! I am new/ignorant to the whole PSplus rules...joined last month...when Amalur was a "free" game...didn't hit "download" on most of those games that month...Thought they'd just stay in my "instant game collection" until my membership expires. Stupid me should have researched a tad bit more.

I plan to be a constant member...and I'll be sure to hit download so that I'll at least have it in my account when I feel like playing it months from now :/

Well in that case that's a misunderstanding. It's not your instant game collection. The instant game collection is a thing that always has the same games that's unrelated to your account. Not all games are added to the instant game collection. In fact, most aren't.

I pay for PSplus and will continue to do so. I assume that when I cease paying, I will no longer have access to any games that are or ever were free on PSplus that I downloaded for free due to my PSplus membership.

The free month I refer to is the month during which a given game is free on PSplus, not whether a free month of PSplus expires.

So, my question: I download Dragon's Dogma but cannot finish it before it is no longer free to download for PSplus members. I remain a PSplus subscriber. Must I now purchase Dragon's Dogma to complete it? The answer I'm getting is "no, Mr. GOH!, as long as you grabbed it during the free month, you can play it forever as long as you remain a PSplus subscriber!"

Correct.  Also, anything you actually spend money on while a PS+ subscriber you get to keep forever, even if it was a + only sale.
