TheMightyEthan
Somehow I missed this when it was posted last week, but holy shit this is a fantastic month for US PS+. http://blog.us.playstation.com/2013/10/31/playstation-plus-november-preview/ PS3 Ibb & Obb Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen Binary Domain PS Vita Soul Sacrifice Odd World: Stranger's Wrath HD PS4 Resogun Contrast The only one out of all of those that I'm not interested in is Binary Domain. I'm especially excited about Dragon's Dogma because I was always interested in it but never sure enough that I would like it to actually plunk down money on it. *Edit* - The European one is also good, but I'm less excited about it for obvious reasons: http://blog.eu.playstation.com/2013/10/11/playstation-plus-in-november-metal-gear-rising-remember-me-more/ Edited November 5, 2013 by TheMightyEthan
TCP
Soul Sacrifice + Dragon's Dogma is killer. Plus two free games for the PS4 launch? Oh hell yeah!
CorgiShinobi
Been waiting for Dark Arisen. Now I can finally "upgrade" my original copy free of charge. Don't know when I'll have the time to play it. It's an RPG you tend to sink hours into, so it made a great summer title.
staySICK
man I'd much rather have MGR, got Remember ME on 360,and I bought both those Vita games. gah, that's the bad part of PS+, makes me hesitant to actually buy games.
Mr. GOH!
Word. Gonna DL Dragon's Dogma. Stupid question: if we don't delete the game, can we play it past the free month?
Faiblesse Des Sens
Word. Gonna DL Dragon's Dogma. Stupid question: if we don't delete the game, can we play it past the free month? Nope. Playing PS+ games requires a PS+ subscription. Otherwise you could subscribe for a month, download all of the games, then never subscribe again. Mr. GOH!
Can I play it past the free month if I remain a subscriber?
Faiblesse Des Sens
...yes. Why wouldn't they let you do that? That's the whole point of the service.
Mr. GOH!
Because it's presented as a free month, not a free forever from now on. Edit: Essentially, I thought it was possible that Sony gives the free month in the hopes that you'll buy the game if you cannot finish it during the free month. Edited November 6, 2013 by Mr. GOH! TheMightyEthan
No, once you "buy" it it's associated with your account as long as you keep PS+, you don't even have to actually download it. In fact you can let your sub lapse, and if you ever re-up your free games will reactivate.
Mr. GOH!
That's pretty cool.
Faiblesse Des Sens
Because it's presented as a free month, not a free forever from now on. I don't see what this has to do with what I said. This answers the question about what happens if you don't subscribe anymore (no access) and not what happens if you do keep subscribing. Your free month is just a free month of the subscription. It's not special. You just get a month of access. If you want to keep accessing the service and the games you've gotten for free on the service then you'll need to keep subscribing. There are no freebies here. TheMightyEthan
I understood him to mean that the game is presented as free for a month, not that he got a free month of the sub.
Mister Jack
The free month means you can only download the game for free for a limited time, but once it's downloaded you can play it as long as you are a subscriber. You can even delete it and redownload it later as long as you first downloaded it while it was still free. Vecha
Damn! I am new/ignorant to the whole PSplus rules...joined last month...when Amalur was a "free" game...didn't hit "download" on most of those games that month...Thought they'd just stay in my "instant game collection" until my membership expires. Stupid me should have researched a tad bit more.I plan to be a constant member...and I'll be sure to hit download so that I'll at least have it in my account when I feel like playing it months from now :/
Faiblesse Des Sens
Thought they'd just stay in my "instant game collection" until my membership expires. Well in that case that's a misunderstanding. It's not your instant game collection. The instant game collection is a thing that always has the same games that's unrelated to your account. Not all games are added to the instant game collection. In fact, most aren't.
TheMightyEthan
There's a distinction between the free games and instant game collection?
TheFlyingGerbil
I just go to the PS Plus page once a month and "buy" everything. Then download them if/when I want to play it.
Mr. GOH!
I pay for PSplus and will continue to do so. I assume that when I cease paying, I will no longer have access to any games that are or ever were free on PSplus that I downloaded for free due to my PSplus membership. The free month I refer to is the month during which a given game is free on PSplus, not whether a free month of PSplus expires. So, my question: I download Dragon's Dogma but cannot finish it before it is no longer free to download for PSplus members. I remain a PSplus subscriber. Must I now purchase Dragon's Dogma to complete it? The answer I'm getting is "no, Mr. GOH!, as long as you grabbed it during the free month, you can play it forever as long as you remain a PSplus subscriber!" Correct. Also, anything you actually spend money on while a PS+ subscriber you get to keep forever, even if it was a + only sale.
Faiblesse Des Sens
There's a distinction between the free games and instant game collection? Yes. There are plenty of free games but they're not all added to the collection. When the service first started there wasn't a collection at all. If you missed a game that was it. Vecha
What if my membership lapses...and I jump back on a few months later...can I play the games I had downloaded previously?

Vecha
Ok thanks TME and FDS, I'll just keep "downloading/purchasing" everything I see.
TheMightyEthan
That's what I do, and then usually immediately cancel the actual download.
