FMW
Wow, there's a lot to talk about here. This is gonna be a long post, and I REALLY look forward to seeing where discussion goes with this. Resident Evil Revelations comes out in the U.S. on Feb. 7 next year. It's compatible with the Circle Pad-Pro but is not bundled with it. It does not require peripheral. The game is releasing at a $50 price point in the US, unprecedented for a 3DS game. The graphics look way slick - both in cutscene and gameplay. Easily the best on the system, and it shows off what the hardware is actually capable of. The gameplay looks to take a step back from the action heavy excess of Resident Evil 5. It looks much more like an early Resident Evil (with some concessions made for contemporary control expectations). This should be quite a crowd pleaser within the fan community. This is the first big game for the 3DS to have an M rating. I look forward to seeing if the 3DS is plagued by the same demographic problems as the DS. M rated games didn't sell well at all on the DS. The game features a fully fleshed out online co-op and versus mode. There seem to be plenty of maps (thought the co-op maps are adapted from the campaign). I think this will be the first multiplayer shooting action of any sort for the 3DS. Again, look forward to seeing how it does. I believe this is the first time a major story entry of the Resident Evil franchise has launched on a handheld. Quite a surprising change, actually. Them's the facts - get cracking commentors! I expect this thread to be filled with rage against Capcom, half assed business analysis, excitement, complaints, and at least one troll post by the time I check back here. Don't disappoint me. Thorgi Duke of Frisbee
$50? Ridiculous! Though, I have to say, it does look nice... NO, BEN! YOU MUST FIGHT IT! ... I may have to get this. Heads up; Amazon is selling it for $40 instead of $50. Crisis averted!
TheFlyingGerbil
I've never played a Resident Evil game before. I wonder if this would be a good place to start?
WTF
Play resident evil 4 if you're looking for an action adventure title with some horror elements amongst the RE games. If you can stomach the tank controls go with REmake or RE1-3 or even Code Veronica. A good entry point though considering how the titles are today would definitely be RE4. TheFlyingGerbil
I do have the wii version of 4, but I lent it out and don't like asking for stuff back I doubt I'd mind the tank controls, I didn't mind whatever the weird movement scheme was for heavy rain which seemed to annoy a lot of people
Thorgi Duke of Frisbee
If you don't ask for stuff back then how will you EVER get your stuff back?
TheFlyingGerbil
that's why I put in the sad face! I just hope they remember they have it and it's not theirs and don't lend it to someone else. Yeah, I'm a wuss :/
excel_excel
Flying Gerbil, GET THAT GAME BACK NOW. Resi 4 is one of the greatest action games ever. Just call the person up say your coming over for your game, AND GET THAT GAME BACK. As for Revelations I'm looking forward to it a great deal, looks to be the best looking 3DS game so far, and the amount of content is awesome. Capcom has also confirmed voice chat for the online play
