Mal
YOU GET IT But yeah, what's going on is just the start. 5-10 years ago no one would've thought this would be possible but gotta keep pushing. Ultimate goal: Since: This side of the bay is way harder but to get this is a great start. I might be an old man by this is all over but perhaps things will get better with regard to housing. With that said: Hawaii is trying to do something special regarding housing:
Mal
Watching the Dems squander everything as an adult is fun. I'm just going to summarize them as grifters now.

Mal
Two mass shootings in about a week. Atlanta is kind of special (to Asian Americans anyhow) but Boulder is kind of looking to be the run of the mill mass shooting. Just another guy having a bad day just shooting people. Guess we're going back to normal. Mass shootings is so normalized that it's sick. I hate how my mind process it now with such neutral tones. There's nothing new to talk about or even do but to mourn the dead. I'm so tired of this.
TheMightyEthan
Yeah, my first thought when I heard about it was "well, everyone wanted to get back to normal..."
Mister Jack
I had pretty much the same thought. "Mass shootings are back? Gee, I guess covid really is over."

Mal
The eviction moratorium has expired. Mass evictions is the side effect of the pandemic that scares me the most. Our society is ill and barbaric, and it'll get worse.
Mal
This is good. With regards to video games, I think it's about time devs started pushing back. Especially if the IATSE strike spreads to say special effects. That's a fine lateral movement to the video game industry.
TheMightyEthan
Workers unite! My wife was talking about how this Saturday* is bosses day, and I was like "isn't every day bosses day?" *Side note: it seems really weird that bosses day would be on a Saturday.

Mister Jack
NFT sales over 10k must now be declared to the IRS. GET FUCKED, NFT LOSERS!
TheMightyEthan
No shit, you want to pretend it's real assets it's gonna get treated as such. Makes me think of all the people who are like "the government can't tax crypto cause it's all digital" and like, they definitely can, and they can throw you in prison if you don't comply. Or, as I once read on Twitter, "whoever controls the physical substrate controls all its supervening phenomena."
Mister Jack
The best part is that NFT owners are gonna have to pay taxes based on the perceived value of their NFTs, so if some dumbass pays a million dollars for a picture of a monkey smoking a joint that means that the IRS will tax you as if it's actually worth a million dollars. Good luck selling your weed monkey to anyone else for even a fraction of that price. This might finally be the push we need to pop the NFT bubble and kill this stupid, destructive fad for good. One can only hope.

TheMightyEthan
You could outlaw guns, that might have helped somewhat. *Edit - Also the parents are charged with 4 counts of manslaughter each, but for some reason the prosecutor announced the charges in a press release before the court appearance so surprise, surprise, they didn't show up.
Mal
You know for a fact that outlawing guns is an impossibility, especially when there's enough weapons in the United States for everyone and then some. The United States is very anomalous in this regards. Meh. Anyhow... lol
