But still, even a loose cannon will occasionally shoot in the right direction.

Actually, a loose cannon is unmoored, rolls backwards, fires once and takes down the ship with it. :P

Even stopped clocks are right twice a day though... unless they're digital, then maybe just once. :unsure2:

(I obviously don't have access to intelligence briefings.)

And Trump's not going to them either!

Anyway, here's how badly the DNC fucked up.

But also to be fair there's a pretty good argument Congress doesn't actually have that authority

Since passage, the law has never been implemented, because of opposition from Presidents Clinton, Bush, and Obama, who view it as a Congressional infringement on the executive branch's constitutional authority over foreign policy; they have consistently claimed the presidential waiver on national security interests.

This is actually kind of worrying: how utterly inept, if not corrupt, the mainstream media is.

http://www.salon.com/2017/01/03/the-medias-trump-ethics-failure-crediting-the-president-elect-for-an-anti-corruption-stand-he-didnt-make/

Although, in the UK, we're very much used to that sort of thing. <_<

Also, I meant to mention this before, someone put forward that Trump sees being President as like being King rather than someone who serves the people and it explains so much. I mean, he's just incredibly stupid. He is a man who interrupts himself while speaking. He pauses mid-sentence, trying to find the right word or a better way to say something and he fails every time. That old quote of him talking about Lincoln is doing the rounds again and it is truly something.

"And why did Lincoln succeed? Thought about that at all?"

"Well, I think Lincoln succeeded for numerous reasons. He was a man who was of great intelligence, which most presidents would be. But he was a man of great intelligence, but he was also a man who did something that was a very vital thing to do at that time. Ten years before or 20 years before, what he was doing would never have even been thought possible. So he did something that was a very important thing to do, and especially at that time. And Nixon failed, I think to a certain extent, because of his personality. You know?  It was just that personality. Very severe, very exclusive. In other words, people couldn’t come in.  And people didn’t like him. I mean, people didn’t like him."

I am dumbstruck that anyone could see him speak for more than ten seconds and think, "Yep, that man should be President of the United States of America".

But hot heart! You forget that while Trump is a half brained sexist misogynist dimwit inspiring up a wave of neo-nazism, failing to reveal his tax returns in a decades long break from tradition, lacking in any political or military experience and populating his cabinet with "the elite", that despite all that Hillary had emails.

Yeah I saw the above Lincoln quote, and also Obamas end of year tweet and I just can't wrap my head around half the nation think Trump is their best person to make the leader of their nation, their representative to the rest of the world, and think Obama is shit. We'd love to have Obama. And Trump is scary as hell. I don't follow him on Twitter but I feel I should just so I know when to dash to the metro station.

Look we've had our issues on this side of the pond with leaders eating weirdly, but at least they don't eat their food the wrong way around

And this isn't some paparazzi shot of him trying to eat it in a cafe, it looks like it's for an advert. Someone filmed him eating it this way and never went "err..Donald".

You guys are fucked.

It's a natural progression from when Trump said "I will make Ford keep their manufacturing in the US." to which Ford responded "We don't have any plans to manufacture outside the US." and Trump said "See! I totally did that!"

The media now just does the last bit for him.

I spend a lot of time at Chans and Reddit and I got to say, the concept of "Meme Magic" absolutely confuse me. Like sure, I believe in the forgotten flyover country and their struggles and they propelled Trump to the White House but I do not understand Meme Magic.

Trump will explode in a meltdown someday. You only have to look at the press conference today This shit is not for the lulz or however you spell it, I'm too drunk for that. Anonymous Fucks, you dense motherfuckers. Meme Magic isn't real like your waifus.

God damn it. I give Trump six months before he resign or get impeachmented. Guy should just release his tax returns to prove he doesn't have fiancial connections to Russia to bias him monetarily. Blackmail? Good fucking luck. Seems like Russia got shit on the Right so they all obeying their Master (i.e, The Kremlin). Like fucking seriously, I don't care if you like Golden Showers but god damn it your got to have your own self interest but as President you have your country.

I give you six months you son of a fucking whore. Fuck you. At least I can't question the concedence of Pence. Trump is a fucking child and ultimately quality as mental retarded.

Obamacare has it's prob2lem but preconditions isn't a death sentence and people between 18 and 26 years of age have a safety net if a job with health insurance is hard to come by. I'm 27 and will be 28 by the middle of June so those conditions doesn't apply to me (it was) but I am glad it was an option as a graduate student. I wouldn't have a clue of the shit that affect me if it wasn't for the ACA (Affordable Care Act, it's the same as Obamacare you dense motherfuckers).

God damn it, Trump is President the following Friday and he can't have a civil conference (since July) a week away from his inaugration (sp? I'm seriously drunk, sPell check is saVing me). Fuck it, I'm Chinese-American, send me to an interment camp. Obviously I'm not American. Fuck being born in the USA. GET IT OVER WITH. I'm excellent in camping in a coffin like tent. I'm fine with shutting in a ditch that I dug myself, I'm a field trained geologist. Fuck you, you daddy's boy. You absolute disgrace.

Go jack off to Golden Showers. I honestly don't care (who knows what the Obamas, Clintons and Bidens are in? I do not care.)

Sleep time, I'm out.

I typically stay very quiet outside of very personal rings when it comes to my deep involvement in political news. Fake news is a distraction, and the media needs to stop calling it that. Journalism has a responsibility to rise above tabloids. Problem is they haven't and now we are sitting with CNN and Buzzfeed being equally as reliable, because Buzzfeed did a minuscule amount of journalism here and there and CNN did a lot of tabloid journalism.

Trump, Conway, and his entire team will bash the media, and use their bias to turn your attention to the "fake news" issue while hiding the real issues. Does Russia have anything on Trump? Does Trump have financial (or blackmail) ties to Russia? What is the impact of these connections if they exist? Are they worth worrying about? These are the questions I want answered, I don't care about the speculation.

The biggest problem I run into is Trump is trying his best to delegitimize the media, which scares the shit out of me. Its oddly reminiscent of previous foreign rulers burning books and persecuting journalists. Our news and media outlets need to learn how to stay in front of that, and the answer is stop with the shitty entertainment front. Let the gossip sites worry about the Kardashians, lets just get the facts out there.

I'm so tired of every controversy coming in and Conway doing a report trying to point to something different and asking why they aren't asking the hard questions about that. Trump is our next president, and whether he wants to believe it or not, he is responsible for 300 million people and responsible for our prosperity for the next 4 years. No president is the end all be all president, but they will be blasted by the media for every little mistake they make and analyzed by critics for the smallest things ever (see Obama controversy about getting off an airplane and not saluting the marine that one time). If Trump doesn't like it and turns to twitter to whine about it, then he needs to get out of the big boy seat.
