Watched Obamas final presidential speech on BBC while NHS literally bled me dry yesterday. I guess it was decent having an 8 year run of an articulate president. I was a bit too young for Bill Clinton so not much clue on his vocabulistics and grammaticals, but he seems he'd be kinda decent. I wonder if it's a Republican thing.

Dang if he was any classier there'd be a mass shooting in him. (I'm not classy :P)

Still, a Trump is for at most 8 years (unless he does that whole "emergency powers" thing...), but Brexit's for life. Of course he might not even last to the end of the year. Wonder if he'll quit, be forced out by Republicans, impeached, or assassinated(a shockingly high occurrence for US presidents).

Don't forget about Joe Biden, Obama's other half (in the White House). I am too young to know how well Clinton and Gore got along but I do remember Bush and Cheney. Biden and Obama's relationship kind of changed how I view the VP. Now with Trump and Pence, it's more of a Bush and Cheney kind of thing. But worse.

Nope, but the issue is about whether somebody's friendliness implies disrespect, and it does not. I'm more likely to be friendly with someone I respect, though.

Not saying it implies it, more that it can sometimes invite it. If say a manager is perceived as friendly, this can bleed into being viewed as a peer, and therefore erode their apparent authority.

I'm not entirely sure if it is true but there might be more marchers/protesters today at the National Mall than there were people at Trump's inauguration yesterday. Then there are the other related marches/protests around the country and really, the world. I know Los Angeles is around 750k people. Heh.

How long before the "Special Relationship" becomes a "Conditional Free Trade Deal" (which the UK needs way more than the US) with the condition that the Isle of Wight bristles with missiles pointing roughly in the direction of Russia/China? (Though which direction those missiles will fly is obviously a mystery to us all).
