TIL Ronald Reagan was Ronaldo Magnus. (minor request: in future for those of us who sturggle with keeping up with your lots politics as it is, maybe don't use seemingly random names?)

Aha! I had no idea who that was either, but didn't especially care (I try to judge statements on their own merits, it doesn't really matter to me who they originally came from).

Also from my understanding wasn't "reaganomics" considered a bit shit? (I don't know the full policy and result, please don't bite my head off if that's not the case)

Depending on who you ask it's either completely retarded or Gospel.

It doesn't change my viewpoint of the comment either way, I just felt it was a bit iffy to not attribute it directly to Ronald Reagan. Be a bit like attributing something said on the forum to Declan Murphy or whatever.

I wasn't trying to end up in the middle, but after reaching the fifth page I predicted I was going to end up near the middle. A lot of back and forth between questions, and every time I take these tests I end up around the middle.

I remember back in my high school American Government class when I first took one of these tests I was on the line between Authoritarian and Libertarian, but two squares to the Left.

EDIT: Of course, it would have been nice to be in the middle so I could post this.

Here's mine.

I waffle a bit on the authoritarian/libertarian axis. But that I'm in this general area should really be no surprise.

Heh. But isn't it tough to judge a simple normative statement about complex policy with zero context?

Chris Christie is a moron. Chris Christie is the same asshole that veto'd the gay marriage bill in New Jersey. Chris Christie will probably die from stuffing his gullet with Chik Fil A.

We get it; you're a one issue voter. So what's this whole thing about stopping hate. You sure seem to hate on overweight people. Have fun with your hate.

If I had to hazard a guess as to where Battra and Yant would be, I'd guess somewhere in the purple quadrant.

Probably but I got to the second page and the test is pretty much "which talking points do you agree with" and I gave up. I mean, asking questions if you're racist? There are plenty of racists and bigots in all four quadrants.

Hardly. If you noticed before, Chris Christie has done much worse. I merely used his latest offence.

I also don't hate people. I think that he is screwed up, and I think that he can't properly take care of his body, but that's hardly hate.

As for hating fat people, why would I hate fat people? I merely joked about his weight because that's the one thing he can't fix with his seedy practices. This is hardly an actual political debate, so why are you inferring bullshit that doesn't exist about me? You're not trying to win an election, just trying to discredit someone who up until now has taken a much higher road than yourself.

And one issue voter? Look, most of the things I talk about may be gay rights, but I care about much more than that. I care about everyone having the right to an abortion. I care about keeping the current plans for health care going. I care about making sure immigrants aren't treated like second-class citizens, ending discrimination toward Muslims, and continuing on our current path to fixing the economy that any Republican, if put in office, will surely fuck up. And yes, I want churches to pay a considerable amount of taxes.

I should think the next time I say something about someone dying because of their inability to control their weight, but I expect you to think before you dare call me a one issue voter or say I hate anyone again.

I may not hate, but I'm sure as hell mad at such ridiculous allegations. It's clear that you don't "get" much, other than openings to try and attack others. Well, I've got news for you; just because I used a poor choice of words doesn't make the pages and pages of nonsense you've spouted here any more legitimate.

Have fun at dinner.

EDIT: Also, the rich should pay more taxes, the poor should get more benefits, Citizens United should be dissolved, we should lower the military presence in this country, achieve true net neutrality, and so much more. So much for the "one issue voter."

Hardly. If you noticed before, Chris Christie has done much worse. I merely used his latest offence.

So closing a state budget deficit without raising taxes, put a 2% property tax cap in place, took significant first steps (raising the retirement age and requiring more to be paid in by state workers) toward rectifying the insane pension system that NJ State workers had is doing worse. Sorry that he said that Gay marriage required a state constitutional amendment and suggested it be put up for referendum.

I also don't hate people. I think that he is screwed up, and I think that he can't properly take care of his body, but that's hardly hate.

You wished death on him.

See where this goes?

*snort*

I didn't know you had a uterus. I can understand men being pro-life but not pro-abortion. It just doesn't compute with me.

I care about keeping the current plans for health care going.

You care about bankrupting the country and having health care rates going up even higher. Seriously, look at Massachusetts health care after they instituted Romneycare. It's horrible and you're better off going to a neighboring state.

I care about making sure immigrants aren't treated like second-class citizens,

I'm assuming that you're talking about illegal immigration. Asking one to obey the law is hardly being treated like a second class citizen. I have a coworker who is a legal immigrant from Hungary and he seems to be enjoying all the rights of a natural born (except he can't run for president but that's about it)

ending discrimination toward Muslims,

Really? This is some major issue?

and continuing on our current path to fixing the economy that any Republican, if put in office, will surely fuck up.

Your answer seems to be moving to a much more controlled economy than we have now. How's that worked out for Greece?

And yes, I want churches to pay a considerable amount of taxes.

See now this is just ignorance, plain and simple. I assume you also want every charity and non-profit to have to pay considerable amount of taxes, right?

I should think the next time I say something about someone dying because of their inability to control their weight, but I expect you to think before you dare call me a one issue voter or say I hate anyone again.

Whatever dude.

Have fun at dinner.

It's 9am here. I guess you can't tell time.

EDIT: Also, the rich should pay more taxes,

You first. How much did you pay last year?

the poor should get more benefits,

What have you done for the poor?

Citizens United should be dissolved,

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.

We should lower the military presence in this country, achieve true net neutrality, and so much more. So much for the "one issue voter."

Well it's nice you can read off Democrat talking points. I'm sure someone appreciates that.

I would imagine that Russia's balance between authoritarianism and kleptocracy is fairly far from what U.S. liberals or conservatives (well, maybe GWB-era neocons look to Russia as a model, but not the Tea Party) want.

Russia does have one advantage ... (or two)

Even the first question on this quiz seems trivializing and loaded. I have no idea how to answer "If economic globalisation is inevitable, it should primarily serve humanity rather than the interests of trans-national corporations." Don't the trans-national corporations serve the interest of humanity?

Also, I was in Fredericksberg TX yesterday.

Yes, I think that's a bullet hole in the picture of Obama.
