I was going "Okay, maybe they're a bit retarded" until I got to...

Ann Coulter

Poker faced. My reaction can be summarized as that. Inside I feel this: That failed excuse as a human being gave a "talk" not too long ago on campus and just spewed poison from her mouth. She can't hold even a sliver of a debate without calling someone a faggot or anything from where the sun don't shine. She is even worst than Rush Limbaugh who I have get me up from bed every morning with his bull on the radio.

Oh yeah, Ann Coulter is particularly mad. She's so mad that even Fox News tries to not bring her on as often as they used to. When your typical appearance includes such winning quotes as "Our blacks are better than their blacks", you essentially turn into PR's worst nightmare. I wonder if she even has a PR agent.

I think she and Bill O' Riley (I actually respect Bill O' Riley a bit, to be honest. He may be bull-headed and arrogant, but he'll often stand up for important things even when the rest of the channel stands against him) are constantly at each other's throats whenever they're within 50 feet.

It's always everyone else's congressman who is awful. Your own is always great.

Pretty sure I hate my Congressman too. ;)

But yeah, overall that's how it goes.

*Edit* - Holy crap Hottie, that had some real actors in it that I actually recognized. Several of them.

This November we have a choice to make. We have a choice between someone who eats dog or someone who doesn't care for cookies made by a local bakery. Choose wisely.

I wonder if any other country turns such petty mole hills into political mountains. Neither side has satisfactory answers for the real issues, so they focus on ridiculous shit like "CookieGate" and "dog eater".

THe only solace from History is we aren't claiming the other party acted as a pimp for the ambassador of Russia as Andrew Jackson's supporters falsely accused John Quincy Adams of (Adams's supporters fired back with the true statement that Jackson's wife had technically been a bigamist.)

Like I said on Duke's status, anything to make a candidate seem like a fun and likable person is a bonus for them. I know he's not a candidate anymore, but Herman Cain's appearance at Stephen Colbert's Rock Me Like A Herman Cain rally, as well as the interview he did with John Oliver on the Daily Show on Monday (especially his speech to the people of earth following a hypothetical alien invasion) both did a lot to make me like him. Hell, the same even goes for Bill O'Reilly's appearance on the Daily Show to talk about the $4 shrimp. If you can make it so people like you as a person then they're a lot more likely to vote for you.

I'd like to see his tax returns to see if he used any deductions in his favor. The people who opt for higher tax rates very rarely practice what they preach for others.

It's like here in Massachusetts, Elizabeth Warren (besides claiming to be a Native American) is claiming her taxes should be higher yet she opted not to pay the higher amount on her state taxes (in MA, one can opt to pay either the basic 5.3% or a higher 5.85% rate) She said,

“I paid my taxes and I did not make a charitable contribution to the state,’’ The translation for that is "I want higher taxes for you but I won't put my money where my mouth is."

Pure Hypocrisy.

The way I read these comments is "I'm not an idiot, I'm going to pay the minimum I'm legally obliged too. But if you make it so I'm legally obliged to pay more, that's fine." The 1% should not do the Government's (or specifically the IRS') job for them.

If the 1% decide to pay 10% more tax without legislation, there is nothing to stop them pulling that rug. This would give them even more power than they currently have which can't be a good thing.
