Mister Jack
I'm just worried about Big Bird. Will someone think of the Bird! If there are no muppets on SNL this weekend I will be very disappointed.
TheRevanchist
Away from the main election, we have some minor ones that are interesting: http://www.politico.com/news/stories/1012/82074.html?hp=r3
CorgiShinobi
Putting aside whatever party/candidate you support, I think we can all agree this is outrageous for a teacher/adult. Teacher Ridicules Student for Wearing Romney T-Shirt The teacher's excuse that she was joking around is complete crap. "Yeah, I'll compare you to the Ku Klux Klan and encourage other students to mock you, but I'm just kidding! By the way, mind if I scribble all over your shirt too? C'mon, we'll go out in the hall!" Mister Jack
Yeah, come on, you can't throw a kid out of a classroom for being a Romney supporter. Get real.
MasterDex
While I might share somewhat similar views to the offending teacher, that's bang out of order. You'd think, being a teacher, that the woman would have known what the human rights are.
Waldorf and Statler
Not to mention depending on how young the kid is, he might not be mentally developed enough to make his own decision. He could be emulating his parents, just like with religion choice being practically entirely family at a young age.

TheFlyingGerbil
"The maintenance of civil order in society rests on the foundation of family discipline. Therefore, a child who disrespects his parents must be permanently removed from society in a way that gives an example to all other children of the importance of respect for parents. The death penalty for rebellious children is not something to be taken lightly. The guidelines for administering the death penalty to rebellious children are given in Deut 21:18-21" yikes. Running for Arkansas legislature and has previously held two terms so it's not just like he just a crackpot that everyone can ignore. Here's one of the alternatives: "If slavery were so God-awful, why didn’t Jesus or Paul condemn it, why was it in the Constitution and why wasn’t there a war before 1861? The South has always stood by the Constitution and limited government. When one attacks the Confederate Battle Flag, he is certainly denouncing these principles of government as well as Christianity." - GOP Arkansas state Rep. Roy Mauch, in a letter to a local newspaper. " Edited October 9, 2012 by TheFlyingGerbil
Mal
Why wasn't there a war before 1861? The issue was swept under the rug by the Founding Fathers so the just created USA could exist and function. A good number of them knew how shaky slavery was when reviewed against the Constitution and the Bill of Rights. What they did was no different from a dysfunctional family ignoring why they have are dysfunctional. It absolutely couldn't be hidden any further in 1861. As for the death penalty for rebellious children dude... gosh, he is sounding a lot like some of the extremist Muslims. Yes, rebellious children should be dealt with but killing them? I would just kick them out of the house. If the kid think s/he can provide for her/himself, s/he can go knock him/herself out. If s/he can't do it, s/he can always come back or off him/herself. I would prefer to have the missing seat at the table filled though.

TheRevanchist
So, we had two VPs who didn't fact check and showed us a few things about themselves: Mainly, they showed us we don't want either of them to be president. Here are some recent observations: 1. I know a person who voted for Rosannne Barr, doing so as a protest vote for such shitty candidates. 2. LiLo is supporting Romney, which is actually making me cringe for Romney. 3. Canada has now relocated to "overseas".

Thorgi Duke of Frisbee
http://hopisen.com/2012/on-the-use-of-weapons-and-being-pro-abortion/ Abortion is a worldwide thing, but since it's currently a talking point for the 2012 election I figured it would be smart to share this. Not in the military. When you are stationed "overseas", you are stationed in another part of the world. I have never heard that term used for any country north or south of us. Mr. GOH!
The "overseas" argument is ridiculous. Does it really matter whether it mean all foreign countries or just all foreign countries aside from Canada and Mexico? Nope. Thorgi Duke of Frisbee
http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/election-2012/wp/2012/10/15/charity-president-unhappy-about-paul-ryan-soup-kitchen-photo-op/ Paul Ryan bursts into a homeless shelter with his crew, without permission, to get a photo op washing dishes that are already clean, long after everyone was served. The church relies on their apolitical stance to get donations, and this move has a very good chance of reducing donations. I can't think of a better metaphor for the Republican platform than the vice presidential candidate feigning generosity while screwing less fortunate people out of nourishment.
