Seattle PD is taking the legalization in strides. Tons of junk to work out but I think its for the better.

Well... eh. I personally don't give a damn how a leader's sex life is. I don't approve but if he can lead then he can be a leader.

Heard about the CIA thing "Surely of all people the head of the CIA is able to keep his affair secret?"

One of the Fox local stations gave traffic directions to Canada :P (yeah they were taking the piss out of those folks)

These secession petitions are breaking out like herpes all of a sudden. Are there really that many people stupid enough to believe it's actually going to work? For god's sake, you may not have voted for the man but he is still your president and that's just how it's going to be for the next four years whether you like it or not.

I doubt many of the signers believe it will work, but of the very few people I've talked to from Texas (the most signatures), it's about "sending a message."

I don't think "Texas No Like Democrat" is that unfamiliar of a concept, but whatever gets these people to blow off steam (I guess).

The "message" I'm picking up from all this is "I have no grasp on reality."

In other news, Papa John's CEO is threatening to cut his employees' hours in order to avoid paying for healthcare, which would cause a price increase of about 11-14 cents per pizza they sell. Other businesses such as Applebee's and Red Lobster are making similar threats. Some are just straight-up firing people.

It astounds me that the CEO of a multi-million dollar company not only has the balls to fuck over every single one of his employees like this, but also believes he can do so and still hold the moral high ground.

I get a big kick out of the secession campaigns. I know a lot of people are doing it symbolically, but there are a few hundred people (or more) who actually believe this is the right thing to do. Its great, they claim they love this country, but when they don't like who is in charge they abandon it. Nothing Obama does will threaten our freedom, everything Obama does has a limited effect on us if we want it to. Obama only has 4 years in office, and the last 4 years (good or bad) flew by and we are still not Nazis... surprising.

I saw a Romney Campaign ad that really got under my skin. It was an anti-socialism campaign. Talking about how socialism is a threat to the America we know and love. Problem is, when they talked about socialism, they described communism and were basically fear mongering.

To set things straight: A socialist government does not stop the country progress, it does not mean that you can not become an entrepreneur, it does not mean that you are enlisted in your job. It means that the government has a bigger hand in business. I look at companies like Volks Wagen, and think of that as proof that through socialism you can be successful. VW is right now, the worlds largest car manufacturer, recently just surpassed Toyota (the tsunami had a lot to do with Toyota not keeping number 1, but thats beside the point) GM is number 3. The most successful car companies, VW and Toyota both come from socialist countries. Surprising. The CEO's and top dogs of those companies are still in the 1% category. They are wealthier than what most of us Americans (roughly 99% of us) can ever hope to be. Toyota and VW lead not only in sales, but bleeding edge driving tech (TDI/Hybrid). So if socialism really stifles people from moving forward and being successful, then tell me how on earth have two companies from socialist countries beat out all three major companies from a capitalist country? Could it be that they have government funding? Nope, because GM and Chrysler have both had government funding. So what could it be? I'll tell you, those companies wanted to be larger and wanted to be number one, so they worked at it, and socialism in no way inhibited it. I could ramble off a number of companies that are from socialist countries, and all of them would be up on the list of bleeding edge tech and world leaders.

I don't think America needs to go to a socialist government, but I hate when people are mis-informed and when someone who should know better (like a candidate to run our country) is spreading mis-information in order to spread fear to be successful. I know the election is over, but it still bugs me.

Even in this thread I've read mis-information about socialistic governments and how it does not allow one to create a mighty successful company, which just isn't true.

Put the price up 20c then. No one will stop buying pizza because of a 20c price hike. No. One.

Sweet merciful god, THIS. I don't understand why some of these people just don't seem to understand this. If prices have to go up slightly for the sake or providing health care to every working individual, then for fuck's sake DO IT. I don't care. Even if the price of food went up by 50 cents I still get that it's for a greater good.

Only if ancient is "past few days".

There's a good breakdown here btw:

http://www.forbes.com/sites/calebmelby/2012/11/12/breaking-down-centi-millionaire-papa-john-schnatters-obamacare-math/

Their pizza give away amounted four times as much as the ACA stuff adds on to costs. So if he was to maybe hold back on half a million free pizzas then boom, books are balanced.

I never understood people who like Papa John's. Out of all the pizza chains I've tried, theirs tasted the worst. The only thing they really had going for them was that dipping sauce for their corrugated cardboard crust.

Speaking of pizza chains, Little Caesars already gives health insurance benefits to their employees and they sell pizzas at five bucks, so I don't buy this whole excuse about how Papa John's has to screw its workers to survive in the wake of Obamacare.

Pizza Hut is terrible every time I eat it, but my experience with Papa Johns is that you have to find the good locations that on average do a good job. But I guess I've got strange tastes, but my body tends to reject Pizza Hut either way.

Now I think I'm going to go back to "local," though the only local pizza that was good changed their ingredients a few years ago and it's just not the same. Some joint where my grandmother lives can't even make a cheese pizza to save their life. I'm talking like a slab of melted cheese on tomato sauce.
