Cyber Rat
I'm finally at a point where I can afford a new PC and building it from scratch, although I'm probably buying it all at one place for convenience sake. Now, I need to know whether these things actually work together, because my hardware knowledge isn't all that strong. (The following is as labelled in the store I'm getting it at.) MB ASUS - SOCKET 1155 - P8H67-M Pro (B3) INTEL Core i5-2400 3.1GHz Box SEAGATE 1TB, 3.5", SATA II, 32MB, Barracuda Green - ST1000DL002 LC POWER PRO-LINE 920R Veritas_3000 Black Cooler Master GX 650W RS-650-ACAA-E3 ASUS nVidia GeForce GTX560 1GB GDDR5 - ENGTX560 DC/2DI/1GD5 KINGSTON 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3 HyperX Blu 1600MHz CL9 - KHX1600C9D3B1K2/8GX Cooler Master - Hyper 212 Plus CPU Cooler - RR-B10-212P-GP As I said, I'm mostly worries about stuff not working properly together, like, say, the Cooler not being strong enough for the processor or the case not being sufficient. Luftwaffles
It all looks good, but I'd change a few things myself. I don't personally feel you need a non-stock CPU cooler if you're not going to be overclocking (which I'm assuming you're not because you went with the 2400). Rather than get rid of the cooler, though, I'd see if you can swing the 2500K instead. The overclocking is far better and even if you don't plan on OCing now, It's always a good idea for the future. Second, the GPU. The 560 vanilla is far worse than the 560Ti, and really not that much cheaper. If you can afford the better 560Ti, I'd go for that, otherwise an ATI card over the standard 560. My personal preference is to go Antec for PSUs, but I like pretty much everything else CM makes so it might be worth a shot. Other than that, though, looks like a solid build. Cyber Rat
Hmm... The place I was going to get it has the 560 Ti for 60 euro more than the 560. HOWEVER, there seems to be a shop in the city which sells it for cheaper, so I'd only have to shell out 10 euro more instead of 60. I can do that. As for getting the 2500, I think it's doable. I want this to last me for a very long time, so yes, when it comes to it, I'll likely resort to overclocking. Thanks for the tips!

Also the Hyper 212 is absolutely gigantic so make sure the case you buy can fit it. Mine fits easily in a HAF912, but it's something to think about. And make sure it's the 2500K and not the standard 2500. The 2500 is no better than the 2400 for overclocking.
Cyber Rat
It seems the 2500K pushes the whole thing out of my price range (what I checked was 2500). If I stick with 2400, I don't need a non-stock cooler, I assume?
Hot Heart
You didn't mention LEDs. You'll want some of those.
Luftwaffles
It seems the 2500K pushes the whole thing out of my price range (what I checked was 2500). If I stick with 2400, I don't need a non-stock cooler, I assume? It probably would. I got my 2500K at Microcenter for $190 but I believe that's a US only thing. And definitely go for the 2400 over the stock 2500 as the 2500 is just a 2400 clocked slightly higher. What makes the 2500K better (and more expensive) is the unlocked multiplier for OCing. And, no, you probably won't need the Hyper 212 if you go for the 2400. Unless it gets really hot where you are or your case has really crappy airflow you probably shouldn't see too high temperatures on a normal use period. Strangelove
Umm, I have a question and I have no idea where to ask, but this seems like the most appropriate place: I took out a 160gb hard drive from my crappy old broken laptop and when I use it inside an enclosure it shows up as two drive letters. The second letter is the backup, which was about 11gb. Is there physically 2 drives there or is it just one drive split in two by software? If so, can I remove it so I have one 170gb drive? Strangelove
nevermind figured it out.
Luftwaffles
It's just partitioned into 2. But I see you figured it out.
