TCP
I lucked out! I got MSG HD on Saturday. I am in the clear. Trophies ahoy!
Strangelove
As long as both games got played and saved under the same PSN account you should be fine.
TCP
So, if I play Snake Eater on PS3, get a bunch of trophies, and then "transfar" my save over to Vita, the trophies should unlock, yes?

Correct. I havent done it myself, but thats what I know about it.
TCP
Ah, well, my dreams of platinuming MGS3 died last night, as I missed the chance to kill The End early. Still, free trophies are free trophies.
Strangelove
Even after 10 or so years, there's tons of stuff people haven't seen or noticed in MGS3...
Faiblesse Des Sens
I've seen the first two but not the last two.
Eleven
I was gonna laugh about snake getting a breast enhancement. Then I saw it was Eva and felt sad somehow... Also what the hell is she eating that gives her stomachache so much...
Strangelove
I found the first 2 by myself, but the last 2 I found out by way of innernet. Those last 2 are almost impossible to find unless youre seriously obsessed with the game or just plain sadistic. You have to kill Raikov to get him to appear in the Sorrow part, but that's just weird to do so. You have to capture him, put him in the locker, steal this clothes, then open the locker and kill him as he sleeps. I would have never thought of that because im not THAT fucked up. Then again, I did kill Ocelot while he was passed out. I dunno. As for Ocelot appearing in the ending, you have to hold the R1 button while you talk to Johnson, but unlike most alternate first person angles, it doesn't tell you to press R1. And theres a few other ones too that are like that. I would have never thought of doing that either. I also just noticed that Eva has nipples in her xray. Weird. But the PS2 version was so pixelated back then that it's possible I didn't notice because of it. Edited June 21, 2012 by Strangelove
SomTervo
Haha, I didnt see Eva's history thing. That's cool. I've shot ocelot in his sleep and I'm sure I saw him at Johnstone's window. Havent seen Raikov in The Sorrow. Some of the other unprompted first person cutscene angles are really cool; though a lot of them are just The Sorrow hanging around creeping everyone out. I can't imagine how many are left that people haven't found. The depth of those games is just insane. Edi: just thinking about how incredible Eva' detail is for character development... 'night terrors'. Those two words conjure an entire scene in the readers mind. Fucking ingenious. Great indirect storytelling. Strangelove
It shows how flawed she really is a human being, the cause most likely being because she's a spy and all the changes she has to go through physically and mentally. When you talk to her she mentions how hard it is, but since her job is based on deception, its hard to believe that she'd be telling Snake the truth. These medical problems really verify her honesty with him and only him. It's a nice little touch. The overall plots of Kojima's games fluctuate between coherent and nonsensical, but he's always been ridiculously focused on details and backstories unlike anyone else in the game industry. Every character in every MGS game has a backstory that you could possibly create a game around. Im still kind of surprised there hasn't been a Liquid Snake game or even a Solidus Snake game. MGS3 was kind of an obvious and easy choice because Snake was still Snake, just a different one. Same voice, same face and for the most part the same logic and principles. It was an easy transition to make for people who liked Solid Snake and wanted more of him. Liquid and Solidus are also Snake, but with different voices. They can change that though. Kojima has never shied away from retconning, which a lot of people hate. But I wouldnt mind if David Hayter voiced Liquid Snake in a game and Kojima just made up some story of Liquid changing his voice later on. It happened with Big Boss after all in MGS4. They gave him Solidus' voice and it worked out fine. Plus, most villains in the MGS universe are hardly ever true "villains" in their younger days. There's no reason why Kojima couldnt make Liquid a sympathetic character. Plus, people just like Liquid. Fan's reaction to Liquid in MGS1 was the only real reason he came back in MGS2. That wasn't the original plan. Plus, the game ive most wanted to see hasnt been made yet - Big Boss in the early 1980s. Im a bit tired of Big Boss, but Ive always wanted to see what happens before the first Metal Gear. He's already branded a terrorist in Peace Walker, but I feel that there would be a huge turning point before Metal Gear that would have him become a true villain and have Solid Snake hunt him down. There are indeed too many Metal Gear games, but there's also a lot of material to cover. Im not sure if Kojima still enjoys making them, but he's not short on ideas on what to make them about. And Im still a Metal Gear fanboy at heart, so I wont complain....yet.
SomTervo
Didn't know that about Liquid's resurfacing in 2 due to fan pressure. Fucking irritating. Don't compromise shit like that. MGS2 would have been far better without him.
「Advent Chaos」
It happened with Big Boss after all in MGS4. They gave him Solidus' voice and it worked out fine. Isn't that because Solidus is THE perfect clone of Naked Snake? Was (older) Big Boss voiced in other games that didn't use Richard Doyle as the VA or am I misreading this? I also agree with you, but I'd be much more happier to play a game about The Boss in her younger days and The Cobras. Weren't there rumors that "MGS5" was going to be about this? Back when the FOX engine was starting up or somethin'.
Strangelove
Uhh....what? Well, Solidus was ONLY in MGS2 and older Big Boss was only in MGS4. Theyve never been voiced in other games. And being clones has nothing to do with it. Each Snake have different voices. Not to mention that Snake has aged about the same as Big Boss in MGS4. They were about the same age physically. Solid Snake's voice was for the most the same, it doesnt make sense that Big Boss' voice would change after getting older. Kojima even said they changed it so David Hayter wouldnt be talking to David Hayter. Itd be weird. Im so glad they did. And yes, I remember hearing that rumor about The Boss. To be honest, I find her very dull as a character. The Cobras too. People complained about the B&B Unit not having personalities, but neither did the Cobras. They all just said their name like 20 times and told Snake how much they were going to kill him. Aside from the Sorrow, none of them had real actual backstories either. Every member of the B&B Unit had a backstory narrated by Drebin. Their backstories werent great, but at least they had them. I guess a game based on The Boss and and the Cobras could fix that though. But I would expect people to be pissed off if a real MGS game got made without a Snake. It would be MGS2 all over again. Its been a decade and some people still won't let that go. 「Advent Chaos」
I figured that Big Boss' voice was different just because he aged. Like how a 30+ year old sounds different compared to his 60 year old self. From older man to grandpa, a transition like that. Since Solid Snake's (physical) age was accelerated his voice remained (slightly) the same and the whole thing about him not being a perfect clone. Don't mind me though, I'm just overthinking all this. It WOULD be kind of weird if David Hayter was talking to himself. Personally The Boss always fascinated me, even now a lot of her reasons and purposes are still left in doubt. I always thought it'd be kind of neat to play as her on the mission where she has to kill The Sorrow, but not having a Snake would probably make other people upset just like you said. I wouldn't mind! Metal Gear is Metal Gear either way!
Strangelove
A game about how They Joy became the Boss would be pretty cool I think. It would have to be very similar to MGS3. Humanize a really "badass" character by making them make mistakes while having to kill a friend or mentor to get to the next "level." Cool and collected people hardly ever started out as cool and collected.
SomTervo
Playing The Boss in WWII would be awesome. You start off pregnant, and give birth to Snake on the battlefield. You get 'protective mother' rage mode where you can kill loads of dudes. The pregnancy bit is more stealth/ evasion, and you have to waddle about. Then later it's all the action stuff.
「Advent Chaos」
Hahaha that's just silly Kenshi :> hey wait a minute, she didn't birth snake! She gave birth to MREOWMAN Ocelot! I always giggle when the Boss teaches Ocelot a lesson, punching him or taking away his revolvers.
TheMightyEthan
Liquid Snake totally sounds like a euphemism for ED.
