deanb
So was a thread suggested to be more story based. Thought I'd fire it up as we now all start to unlock the game. Firstly screenshot for Skyrim are at L:\Steam\userdata\31988727\760\remote\72850\screenshots (change L to whatever. Bolded part may be different, but 760 is the Screenshot folder n 72850 is the Skyrim App ID) Whack your image up on the Gallery if you want then select "My Media" to embed (or embed direct. Or use imgur or dropbox, whatever) So this is my Breton. Pyrites (my usual RPG name) I'm aiming him to be a mage, the great great grandson of "Champion of Cyrodil". While his Great Great Grandfather gained riches and items beyond value; Head of the Mages Guild, Knight-Errant of Leyawin, Grand Champion of the Arena, Champion of the Divines, as well as the aforementioned Champion of Cyrodil and hero of Kvatch. There were even whispers of close ties to the Dark Brotherhood and Thieves Guild, it was not by chance that he was in Imperial city the day one of the Elder Scrolls was stolen. However not all branches of the family tree are well off. As the Empire crumbles so does the power his family once had. So he flees Cyrodil to Skyrim in hopes of fame and fortune from the tales he was told as a child. Due to his lengthy and experimental use of magic his hair has gone whispy white and his eyes a foggy white. His adventures in Skyrim have already been full of action; since being captured at the border he has escaped execution, dragon and mudcrab. As a request from a convict he escaped with he has made his way to the town of Riverwood, there he met with some supporters of the Stormcloaks, freedom fighters lead by one of the men at the execution and a powerful user of The Voice, Ulrich Stormcloak. It has being suggested I join with them, however first I have promised the local merchants I will track down some thieves that stole a valuable artefact from them: The Golden Claw. After journeying to the top of the thieves camp at Bleak Falls Barrow he thinks this is going to be an excellent time in Skyrim.

madbassman39
My character's name is Tenious, and imperial warrior. He seems to have taken a liking to archery and two handed weapons, along with spreading rumors around Riverwood (Sven and Camille are not happy at the moment). A hunter in the wilderness, but a lover of the arts. It seems there is a reward for a bandit leader not to far from Whiterun, so Tenious will be searching for that bandit leader soon. First it seems he has to deal with an immediate emergency in Whiterun that he must help with.
Mister Jack
I was on my way to do a Companion initiation trial with my escort when a dragon swooped down and started a fight. We hit him a couple of times, then he backed off. He landed next to a giant and smacked it with his tail, which pissed it off and made it attack him back. The dragon took a light beating and then flew off again, this time landing in between two mammoths that he decided to roast with fire breath. Both mammoths got pretty mad about that and stomped the dragon to death. Then I got the soul.
madbassman39
After speaking to the Jarl of Morthal, I stepped outside to hear the shouts of the people. Guards had their bows raised to the sky, shouting something about a dragon. I took a step back, looked up, and above me was the beast, breathing fire upon the city. As I started to run to aid the guards, I noticed something else above the distant mountains behind the dragon. A second dragon circling on high reigning terror upon the mountain top. I was quick to take down the nearest dragon, but couldn't make the trek to the mountains to take out the dragon in the distance. I went back in town to "check" on the corpses of some of the towns folk. Some survived, others were not so lucky
TCP
After taking care of a group of bandits in Mistwatch, I headed north east, and soon came to a pond. Some saber cats attacked me, and I was surprised to find they were no longer difficult for my fire/sword welding nord to defeat. After swimming across the pond, I noticed a giant. In front of the giant was it's mammoth, laying dead in the shallow water. I approached the dead mammoth, took a tusk, and was surprised to find the giant to be non-aggressive. I walked directly up to it, it glanced at me briefly, and went back to mourning it's mammoth. My cold nord heart almost melted.
TheMightyEthan
Just now I killed a dragon, without a great deal of trouble. Then I was like "I need a mammoth tusk, I see a mammoth icon on my HUD, I'll go get that." Avoided pissing off the giants, and attacked a mammoth that was far enough away not to draw their attention. The freaking mammoth absolutely destroyed me. It seems like if I can take a dragon then a mammoth shouldn't be too much trouble...

The dark-scaled spell-thief is now debating whether losing his pride by wearing a tiara is worth the 20 extra Magicka.

madbassman39
During my stay in Morthal, I met a rather aggressive Nord, who challenged me to a fist fight. After I beat him, he decided that I was "all right" and came along with me on my adventures. His name was Benor, and we traveled far and wide together. (I don't use the fast travel because I think it made oblivion feel small when I did, so out of principle I won't use it in this game). We even slayed a dragon together. Every time you saw Tenious (my imperial) on the trails, Benor was sure to be near. After a month (ingame time) of adventures together, we came across a few men dawned in elvish armor on our trails. I approached them to find out more about who they were and what they were doing. Turns out they belonged to a cult, of whose name I cannot remember, and they asked if I worshiped Talos. I told them that I did, and their response was in steel. The leader, a mage, began to attack me, and his followers did the same. Benor, without hesitation went right after the mage, I took out the two armored guards. To my surprise the Mage was still alive and attacking me, I figured Benor must have bowed out to recover, so I planted my Axe of Whiterun into the Mage's neck, ending the fight. I ran to help Benor up with my healing hands, and found him lying lifeless on the ground. The mage set him on fire, not giving Benor a chance to recover. I mourned his death, placed his body between two rocks, grabbed his hammer and placed it across his chest. I dropped a purple, blue and red mountain flower on his body so he may rest in peace. After about a week (ingame time) I came across more of these cult followers, this time with a prisoner. I decided to do right by Benor and equipped the prisoner with my Orcish fine sword and we fought for his freedom. The prisoner died in his attempt to escape, because he didn't use my sword, but I'm sure he would rather die for freedom than live a prisoner because of his beliefs.
deanb
After a month (ingame time) of adventures together, we came across a few men dawned in elvish armor on our trails. I approached them to find out more about who they were and what they were doing. Turns out they belonged to a cult, of whose name I cannot remember, and they asked if I worshiped Talos. They're not a cult, they're from the Dominion. Since retrieving the Golden Claw from Barrows Peak, and having a wall of cunieform doing some weird glowey shit to him while there, Pyrites headed off to Whiterun to warm the Jarl there of the impending thread to Riverwood....killed dragon....greybeards...ran pat frost troll on 7000 steps...etc etc... Pyrites has now become rather proficient at killing dragons, claiming over a dozen of their souls already and even hunting them down to their roosts. The people of Dawnstar and Riften have even seen his might up close, while also aiding in the battles against the dragons themselves. He has also joined the Dark Brotherhood, following in his fore fathers footsteps. Though much has changed from the tales of old. Finally following up on the advice of his saviour from Helghan Pyrites met up with Ulfric Stormcloak and pledged his sword to the stormcloaks. He has also joined with the Mages College, though a snow cat is causing problems in his attempt to get to their expedition site. Pyrites has also had a minor run in with some travelling members of the Thalmar Dominion. However the clash was small but swift, the rest of the party since long gone down the road when the question arose regarding belief in Talos. While Pyrites has mainly focused upon the Destruction arts he has come to appreciate the help of his friendly Flame Atronach. Both an excellent decoy and source of damage. Requires chugging back on a few magicka potions though. Thankfully he has slowly mastered the alchemical arts. Through careful eating of butterfly wings, sabre cat eyes, giants toes, vampire dust. His stomach no bounds in his pursuit of gaining mastery of natures bounty. His current aims, alongside getting the good graces of all the Jarls so he can buy/find a house with decent amount of bookshelves, is access to Dwemer ruins.
deanb
Boom dragon priest down. By accident too. I was meant to be doing another quest, but because it's right in the corner of the map and the angle of the map doesn't shift enough there was two dungeons overlapping. Dragon Priests dungeon was pretty long (And hard), the place I actually wanted to be at had 3 bandits and a dead body to look at n took all of 3 minutes. Shame the mask I got was for stamina. I've now got about half the words, though not unlocked them all. Smithing and enchanting is starting to go through the roof a bit, so my gear is some pretty neat stuff, and my trusty mace of souls is now a sword of souls (flawless). I filled up quite a few soul gems in the dragon priest dungeon. Currently building up a hefty library, so aiming to purchase the house in Malacath since it can stock 180 books. I do however now own the house in Solitude, and it's a pretty fine house. Mainly got it for the enchant table. Though it's a bummer not much storage near by.

toxicitizen
Today I realized something that was either brilliant or complete cheating. When you buy training, the gold doesn't just "disappear", it goes in the trainer's inventory, which... yeah, you can pickpocket back. So after many failed attemps at looting 1500 from the skyforge guy, I decided I needed to become a better thief. So I just wandered around town, robbing everyone I could. That was too slow, so I headed to Windhelm where a beggar woman can train you in pickpocketing. Then I thought, if I buy all 5 ranks in one shot, I certainly won't be able to steal back all that gold. So I did the most abusive thing possible: buy a single rank, steal back the gold, repeat for as long as possible. I actually gained the rank I bought and a second one for stealing back the gold each time I leveled up twice in less than ten minutes lol The last rank cost me about 1600 gold which I couldn't steal it back, but what the hell, she deserves at least that much.
Saturnine Tenshi
They told her it was called Windhelm. Much like the preceding cities, it was a foreign place among foreign places. Only the reliably ebullient snowflakes followed her. The girl delighted in their erratic descent. When the downy creatures amassed, they would scream under her stomps. She would grin and, in a brief moment of welcome respite, forget her loneliness. But the townsfolk were arguing, spewing painful rancor that hurt her ears. Harsh words. So she hid. The elf did not want confrontation. That was not enough, so she fled the abrasive pitches that hurt her fragile ears. Gravely, she missed his particular timbre and the invigorating feeling it marshaled. Now, only the ever-growing ache chewed at her. The winsome elf had to search, as she always did, by ascending the highest vantage. No, not here. Only the stolen glow of her memories. Vesper romps through musky palatial passages with carmine eyes fixed on the scintillating firelight he used to illuminate the way. Elsewhere, avoid the strangers. Strangers hurt. An arris, a balustered balcony and there. There! Oh, she would climb and spot him from the tippest top of that toppest tip! Eagerly, too eagerly for the reticent sprite, she burst into the keep. The familiarity was lacerating. A scrumptious dinner had been prepared. That chair was his. Her sister's. Hers. "Splendifercakes!" she blurted. Exasperated, she shook her sunny curtains. No, this too was foreign. The sentries were silent. She meant nothing to them. Likewise. To the tippest top, then. Immediately, she was assaulted by the rancid stench of a stranger. Friendly conversation with strangers was always too friendly for the socially awkward creature. The greeting arrived as untrammeled deception to her ears. She offered a shy smile and hurried by. Something her only one treasured. Something which had atrophied in solitude. The causeways reminded her of sanguine days. The breached portals introduced bedrooms, similarly baleful in their capacity to ignite memories. Tossed satin and fibrous gowns, there. She suffered the rending returns for nothing; no way up. Meekly, she passed the man of deceit, and his chatter bounced harmlessly off her trappings. That's what the elf had to convince herself. She would not be sullied. Once again to the audience room, dinner table and antechamber amalgam. She thought it would have been great to eat while her sovereign listened to the complainers complain. He called them "dribbling dimwits". He called her songbird. To the left and swiftly past the chattermen. Maybe she'd find the uppermost perch beyond. Only a raised bed here. The room was nothing like hers, or her king's. His reeked of alchemical substances and ancient tomes. Hers was suspended in a perpetual tempest of items found appealing by her unbound, capricious curiosity. By command of that trait, she took a seat. The rousing smell of ozone did not welcome her. Instead, she met the scent of sweat and cinnamon. The bantam girl could not resist, so she didn't. Hop. Hop. Hop. Hop. Hop. Hop. Hop. Hop. The bouncing felt barren. She'd done so countless times with her giggling sister. Reliably, he would emit a mirthless sigh, and it would satisfy her. Even his tired outbreaths were for her. Expelling an equally defeated susurration, the lass sulked her way off the bed and retraced her steps. There would be no tippest top today. Upon returning to the many-purposed room, the man stopped her with his foreign drawl like settling rubble. Along came the sweat and cinnamon. He said he was the king here and asked her purpose. Despite her apprehension, the tunic-wrapped elf managed to correct him. "Not mine. My king is super favorable. You are not super favorable." The error righted, she turned to depart- but oh! Frosted pastry treat! Was this his pastry? It was his pastry. Could she nibble? A slight nip? She would nip and nibble. But the foreign looker must not see. He was looking! Looking with those leering lookers at her frosted friend! Surreptitious success! Satisfaction dominated the next dozen sugar-inspired raps of heel-to-stone until she reached the heavy bronze egress. The treats were his placation during those long-removed times. He taught her belly happiness. The sensation once pervaded her—most luminous beneath her bosom—and he taught her happiness everywhere. But the loneliness returned. On burning, pestilent claws, it returned. Bread clenched between weary fingers, she looked over her shoulder. Another room without her truest one.
deanb
Malacath has not smiled kindly upon Ugghra. First his people stage a coup and eject me from my own tribe. I head out, wandering Skyrim alone. I am old, I have lived a warriors life, I do not care if a frost troll was to jump me in the night. But unfortunately for me it was not a frost troll but in fact the imperial legion. They bound me and put me on a wagon with other prisoners. But the fun for Ugghra did not stop there. Despite committing no crime they decide to put me to the block, this is clearly the will of malakath, what did I do to forsake him? But my ill fortune was not to stop there. As my head was in the block a great dragon of legends swooped down and preceded to tear the town down to its foundations. I escaped the burning town and dragons wrath with an imperial soldier, he suggested I join up. Perhaps this is Malakaths will. Tear me down, show me death and challenge me to become a stronger orc. Many young orc have joined the imperial legion, I shall see what I make of them. After passing through Riverwood I arrive in Whiterun, A blacksmith at the front of the town points me in the direction of the Companions. An ancient clan of warriors, perhaps here I shall show Malakath my worth.
madbassman39
So after finishing up a simple quest that took me almost 4 hours to complete (I don't use fast travel, which means I find mines and get easily distracted) I decided to save my game and terrorize Whiterun! I morphed into a werewolf and just began the slaughter. My follower, Roggi Knot-beard, and I started taking the guard out first. That is until I did something to piss off Roggi and had to kill him too. Lydia came out of my house and began the attack against me, I was heart broken. After killing all the possible NPC's I could I found that a 2 older NPCs could not be killed, and of course the annoying children (I was sad I couldn't even Fus Roh Dah them). I ran around a bit in my underwear while the people attacking me were shouting "You'll catch a cold, put something on!" until the funniest thing in a game EVER happened to me. Three companions came running out of the building and I readied my self for a worthy fight, but instead of attacking me, they cornered a child and started to whack her with their swords, taunting her! I remember Vilkas saying "come on and fight me you coward!" while the child stuck in a corner in the fetal position yelling "Why are they fighting?" and being attacked for literally five minutes. I couldn't breath I was laughing so hard. The companions then gave up on the child and began attacking the invincible old woman, who would bow out when she was defeated and stand up again after resting. The scene was very funny as well, with three companions hacking at this old woman until she collapsed, calmly walk away and as soon as she stood up again turned around and began their attack all over again. This probably could have gone on forever, but it was midnight and I had work in the morning so I turned off my console, still laughing from the barbarism I watched from the companions. They aren't lying when they tell you they will defend you no matter what!
TheMightyEthan
Battle mage Jesus has always hated the Empire, ever since he was a small boy and his father was executed for a crime he didn't commit. His mother kind of fell apart after that, and basically stopped doing anything; she'd just sit in her chair and stare into space, barely eating or sleeping. His two older sisters were forced into prostitution to support the family and pay his father's debts. Most of their johns were Imperial soldiers, which didn't help Jesus' view of the Empire. When he was 12 Jesus ran away, unable to deal with the situation that had developed in his home. He lived in the wilderness for a time, killing small game for food and sleeping in trees to avoid the nastier creatures. Occasionally he'd encounter travelers, sometimes trading with them, other times stealing supplies from their camps at night. When he was 14 Jesus killed his first Imperial soldier. It was a courier, travelling alone. He didn't know if something had happened to the courier's companions or if he was just stupid enough to travel alone through the wilds, but when Jesus approached the courier's camp, thinking to steal some supplies from unwary travelers, and saw that it was an Imperial soldier he was overcome with rage and cut the courier's throat as he slept. It felt good. Jesus began to seek out Imperial soldiers, killing them when they wandered too far from their friends. Eventually he became bold, and would attack small bands of 3 or 4 in the night, sneaking up on the one standing guard and then killing the rest as they slept. It was not long before the Empire grew aware of what was happening though, that these killings were related, and sent a company to the woods where Jesus had been living to find and capture him. Jesus fled north to evade his pursuers. Eventually he fell in with a group of bandits, but he didn't like the level of barbarity he found among them. Jesus would steal what he needed if necessary, though he preferred to trade, and though he killed every Imperial soldier he came across he did not hate the common people of the Empire and did not like killing them. After a time he left the bandits and set off on his own again, slowly drifting his way north, though his direction was not purposeful. As was bound to happen eventually, at the age of 22, shortly after he entered Skyrim, Jesus' hatred of the Empire got the better of him and he was captured by Imperial soldiers as he tried to kill all in their camp. Jesus was set for execution, but fate intervened and a dragon attacked the fortress before his sentence could be carried out. He fled, aided by the Stormcloaks, a group of Nords rebelling against the Empire. In his second encounter with a dragon Jesus did not flee, but slew the dragon, and then something strange happened: Jesus absorbed the dragon's soul. Informed by the Nords that this meant he was the Dragonborn, Jesus set off to speak to the Greybeards to learn what this meant. However, Jesus was reluctant to embrace his role as a great hero, or to get too involved with the Stormcloaks. Instead Jesus continued to wander for many months, slaying dragons and Imperial soldiers wherever he found them, and adventuring with no specific path in mind. Now, however, Jesus is beginning to come to terms with his role as the Dragonborn, and wants do to more to fight the Empire than murder individual soldiers unfortunate enough to cross his path. Jesus is now going to embrace the dragon blood, and when he has mastered that power he is going to use it to aid the Stormcloaks in their quest for independence from the Empire.
