P4: Gritty Reboot
Yes, update your Steam wishlists; it's the easiest way for the person to find out what you might want. No complaining allowed if you get a copy of Elf Bowling you forgot you had on there.
Chewblaha
Oh shit. I hadn't noticed. Alright. Done and done. Edited December 2, 2011 by Chewblaha
Mr. GOH!
Fair warning: I probably won't make my purchase until the 23rd due to travel and also that's my payday. So don't fret if you don't get one by the 20th! Well, maybe fret a little, but if you're my santa-ee, you'll get it on the 23rd. I'll try to make the wait worth it. P4: Gritty Reboot
So apparently last year's Steam sale did not start until the 20th. Would anybody have a problem with pushing the date back a little so we get more time with the discounted games?
Saturnine Tenshi
I wouldn't have a problem with it. Why not just set it for Christmas Eve or so?
deanb
Yeah I'm up for moving it back. Means we can purchase better/more gifts if they're cheaper. I'd be up for even suggesting 31st Dec. I'm sure it doesn't need to be for Xmas day.
Luftwaffles
Christmas eve would be great.
P4: Gritty Reboot
My only problem with waiting til the 31st is that I'm sure people want to buy games for themselves without wondering whether their Santa is going to pick it up for them... Which reminds me, if you plan on snagging a game for yourself make sure it's not on your wishlist. Why don't we set for the 24th and see how it goes? deanb
Good argument. (Though if you do buy yourself a game on the wishlist, as long as you have more than one game there should still be stuff for the secret santa to pick up)
Connorrrr
Yeah I was worried about buying some games on my wishlist, hah... I'm probably not gonna buy too much though to be fair. 24th works for me!
deanb
Shepard wants to see the look on your face when you open his gift.

deanb
Quick questions(the more people who answer this the easier it is for anonymity. And this may be a question others are looking for an answer too) Would you guys rather have more smaller/indie games, or one larger more expensive semi-AAA game? Personally, and this is mainly due to the games on my wishlist, I'm a "big single game" type. More games is more chances I won't get around to them. However I'm unsure if many of my bigger games are discounted enough (And the Wishlist service is down at the moment for me to check) edit: It's back up, yeah I don't have a single one of my bigger games in range(At least not yet), and two of them are unreleased. One of them is even listed as "Unreleased Title".
Cyber Rat
Single big game for me. I have played more indies this year than I can count.
P4: Gritty Reboot
Either way for me, love both. Sometimes indies are easier to play with my limited gaming time; but other times a AAA title scratches the itch.
Saturnine Tenshi
Single game, which makes little sense considering my wishlist. But hey, surprises are surprises.
Luftwaffles
Out of curiosity, what's the protocol on gifting before the 24th? I saw Chew say something about delivering his giftie in a status, but I just wanted to make sure that that was okay, say if, the game we were looking to gift got real cheap. P4: Gritty Reboot
Yeah, in fact, in the future it may work better as more of a deadline so people don't have to hold off. "Gift before the 24th" or something like that for next year. If you want to this year that's fine too. Chewie asked me specifically on that one because he's going away for the holidays. Mr. GOH!
Oh, shoot, I just straight-up sent off my gift and didn't hold onto to it. I hope that's okay. Is the 24th a deadline this year, or is it when the embargo on talking about gifts drops?
P4: Gritty Reboot
We'll just call it the deadline and at that point we'll open up forum discussion as to what you were able to get/give this year.
Mr. GOH!
Wait, so it's also when the embargo on talking lifts? Edit: An embargo and a deadline, I suppose. Well, my lips are sealed until the 24th. Edited December 20, 2011 by Mr. GOH!
P4: Gritty Reboot
Yeah, not that anyone's going to freak out if someone finds out about your giftee or whatever but I'll edit the post to encourage discussion over the outcome, suggestions for next year, etc.
Mr. GOH!
Cool cool. I would also like to suggest that anyone who receives a gift they already own or have already enjoyed through other means is morally obligated not to redeem the gift but pass it on *freely* (i.e., not as part of a trade).
P4: Gritty Reboot
A fine suggestion. Spread the love.
P4: Gritty Reboot
Remember that today is the deadline for gifting; if you're unable to fulfill your part for any reason, financial or otherwise, let me know. Also, if you don't receive your gift by tomorrow morning, send me a PM or hit me up on Steam and I'll get it sorted. Also, go ahead and talk about your giftee/gifting here, and please make suggestions for next year's exchange. Merry Christmas and happy holidays to all. --- I want to thank Saturnine for his generosity; he gifted me The Witcher 2 and Bastion, which pretty much blew me away. Thanks ST!
