Someone say Amazon video game deals?

BAM! Holiday Deals Calendar (These tend to be a pain to load/find.)

Only notable 3DS games I see are Kingdom Hearts 3D, that Final Fantasy rhythm game, and a Professor Layton title.

I've kinda wanted to try out Monster Hunter, but I doubt I'd have anyone to play with online.

All I want is either Fire Emblem or one of the Etrian Odyssey games... I guess I could do the Gamestop B2G1 used games thing and potentially grab them all since I will be there for the PS+ thing. It'll be around $60 for three games which truth be told isn't that bad but I'm not planning on spending that much (And it would be ill advised).

The only other thing I can think of that is 3DS related is how Target and Overstock.com will have the 3DS XL for cheap. Target will have it at $150, while Overstock has it "too low to show." If you already have an XL, disregard.

And if anyone needs to see an overview of the Black Friday ads for 2013, I always go to bfads.net

That's how much I paid for our second hand 3DS... good deal?

ETA:  I just saw via twitter that 11/28-11/30 Target will have all 3DS XL systems for $150... that includes the Zelda bundle.

(and I missed that Atomsk already mentioned that)

I'd suggest everyone also look at some more local/regional stores too. I was at a Fred Meyer yesterday and I learned that they'll have 20% off all video game software (and I believe headsets too). This includes all the new titles like Super Mario 3D World too, though the one down side is that you'd probably have to be there at 5:00 AM. I'll be getting off of work at 2:00 AM and don't feel like taking a nap inside my car when I have a shift starting at 10:00 AM that morning.

However, if you have a Hastings, it may not be all software, but there are some good games for a great price. Tomorrow you would be able to go online as well, though keep in mind they will be different sales, but I may end up doing those because the sale in-store starts at 1:00 PM and I wouldn't plan on going to the store until around 7:00 PM because I have to start my shift at 7:30. If you'd like to see:

Check it!

EDIT: For example, I'm thinking of getting Scribblenauts Unlimited for $25, and possibly Lego Marvel Heroes for $25, though I'm not sure whether I want it on PS3 or Wii U. I'll have to look into what might make the Wii U version stand out.

Okay. I got the PS+ deal from Amazon. You cannot use mobile app to get it or on the mobile site. Unless you go to the full website. I got it from my brother's desktop. Odd to say the least. Maybe to stop people who get it in the brick and mortar stores from double dipping.

Anyways. Holding pattern before I use it. I'll wait til the store has something I want. Hell, I can even wait til I get the PS4 to use it.

Don't redeem any PSN codes right now, the store's slow as hell.  Mine threw an error and now it's telling me the code's already used, but the extra year isn't on my account.  I'm sure I'll be able to work it out with support, but better to just wait until the network is stable again.

*Edit* - Never mind, it's not saying it's used, but it's still not redeeming successfully so I'd wait.

They should have made everyone plus by default for one month when the system registered itself so they wouldn't have everyone trying to activate codes at once.

Why do you assume this is a matter of new activations and not the gigantic PS3 install base buying plus and other deals?

Whoa! Did you buy two or something?

Also, is it pretty common for the PSPlus card to go on sale like this...that's how I always had Xbox Live Gold.

I need to get a chromecast so I don't have to rely on my 360 for HBOGo...one of the only reasons we have xbox live gold in our house anymore. Plan to not renew once it goes out.

  • 11 months later...

Yo, it's that time of the year again and we've got ad scans!

Funnily enough a lot of the video game sales are similar and I don't believe it's because of a manufacturer's discount. Some selection of games will be $5 more or less depending on the store you shop. I noticed some recent releases being priced at $25, so you know I'll be getting Shadow of Mordor and KIllzone: Shadow Fall (finally). Obvious console bundles; the PS4 bundle I feel is the best includes The Last of Us and GTA V. Personally, if I was in the market for an Xbone, the MCC bundle for $329.99 is tempting.

Of course a lot of doorbusters, so screw that noise. I'm not the type to be waiting Thanksgiving evening to buy entertainment. It's not like it's going anywhere anytime soon. Online shopping is where it's at, even if there are exclusive in-store offers only. I rather be filled with food in the warm of my home than freezing my ass off hoping there's enough Product X left in-stock.

I go with friends and family to doorbusters.  I don't always have the time to spend with them during the day, so midnight on the way to save some cash (or spend some, depending on your POV) is a great time to catch up.  Plus, I know people who get a rush from BF shopping.  I might be one of those, though I only tend to buy things I will use, not because things are a cheap price.

As far as the best deals on console games, bundles are nice.  For those that aren't on bundles, unfortunately, WalMart or KMart have been the best place to get them.  Last year, Dishonored for $5 at WalMart.  I was at Target, and they wouldn't price match, so I lost out on that deal.  Still sad about that one.

Avoid GS.  Their prices suck ass normally.  They have almost no deals that are decent (last time I went, Ni No Kuni was the only thing worth being there for, and it really wasn't that great of a deal).  Target's prices weren't bad, but nothing to write home about.
