SixTwoSixFour
Heya, folks. So, those of ya that know me, know that I'm fairly enthusiastic about fighting games. I recently invested in some shitty video capture gear, and while I'm still working out the kinks, it works well enough. I know there are other people on here who like fighting games, and people who like watching matches, so I figured... why don't I record matches between forumites? Obviously, it would mostly be me playing, but I'm totally willing to record as a spectator as well. I don't think any of us are good enough that we're going to be drawing lots of views, but it can be fun just watching the members of the community, friends of yours, duke it out. You can check out the videos I've got thus far on my YouTube if you care (http://www.youtube.com/user/Midaki), and I'm gonna get some more up soon, I have stuff on my hard drive waiting to edit. If you wanna battle me, I play on PS3, and I own Arcana Heart 3, Super Street Fighter IV Arcade Edition, BlazBlue CS and CT, Ultimate Marvel versus Capcom 3 (and vanilla), and Street Fighter 3 Third Strike Online. I've successfully recorded AH3 and 3SO, but Marvel is giving me some technical difficulties, which I am seeing if I can iron out. And again, I'm more than happy to record other people's fights as well- watching the same guy fight over and over gets old! PM me if you have specifics, but if you're just more generally interested, please reply here. EDIT: Note to mods, someone pointed out that maybe this should go in Event Planning? I'm not really sure, apologies for the inconvenience.
Cyber Rat
Are you US or EU? Since lag will likely be an issue as well. And PS3 only? No PC via MAME emulators or doujin fighters with netcode?
SixTwoSixFour
Ah, good points. I am US, rather than EU, which would certainly be an issue for playing, but maybe not for spectating? Spectating is a pretty simple stream of data, but I don't know for sure. And PC is possible, but I'm not set up for it right now- I'd need different software and stuff, which I'm willing to do, if there's interest. I was merely saying PS3 as in "not Xbox" =P I do actually have a Wii as well, so Tatsunoko vs Capcom is possible, now that I think of it. The other thing, of course, is that if someone else wants to do the EU stuff- to record it and whatnot- the gear is pretty freakin' cheap, if you don't care too much about quality. Strangelove
How good are you at the Capcom games?
SixTwoSixFour
Honest assessment? I can hold my own, but I'm not amazing. My youtube channel has some 3SO stuff, I can get some other stuff up there too, if you want a preview. I'm no beast, but I'm not pathetic.
Cyber Rat
I could try doing it for EU for PC games when I get a new PC soonish. Only need to purchase SSF4AE since I guess most people will be playing that.
Strangelove
I'm playing umvc3 at the moment on ps3, so it's the only fighting game I don't completely suck at right now. Feel free to ad me on psn and well do this.
