Showmeyomoves!
Looks a lot better in proper lighting. Â Â Oh, and the title will officially be "The Amazing Spider-Man", which I think is pretty awesome. Edited February 16, 2011 by Showmeyomoves! deanb
I don't know where but I've seen the version with the feet in somewhere. And it's clear he's just like sat on his ass with his arms pointed out. Looks a bit silly. And while dramatic, that shot is way too dark. BrainHurtBoy...2
Green Lantern looks good. The reason I say this is because it looks less like a superhero movie and more like a comic book. What I'm trying to say is that in making a movie, certain liberties have to be taken, such as removing a lot of the pulp and melodrama and unbelievable characters. Lantern does not, and it seems proud of it. Not to mention the suit looks awesome and exactly how I pictured it, and his powers made a great translation to the big screen. My only concern is that they won't focus enough on the whole 'will' aspect of the Green Lantern. I prefer John Stuart as a Lantern, but considering the new comics, Jordan seems like the logical pick. They have a lot of stuff to draw on in terms of content, and what I'm most excited for is what they might do with a sequel. Blackest Night, anyone? Hot Heart
http://www.superherohype.com/news/articles/127365-powers-pilot-greenlit  Could be interesting. WTF
Â I can't tell whether the implication is supposed to be that she's a virgin, or a lesbian. *L* Â Virgin. Not to mention she's made of clay and an Amazonian. They're as good as sexless in DC Mythology. DC has it fair share of LGBT heroes including Batwoman and the current Question who oddly enough was introduced through the DCAU Batman DC's Amazonians can be considered to be asexual aromantics in a matriarchal society with a few exceptions. Â The sequel could be about Jon, or for fun, we can use Guy. Â I like Guy character, maybe he's an asshole, but I believe OA choose him because he's good at controlling his willpower and fear. Little Pirate
WHERE THE LIVING HELL IS THE DEADPOOL MOVIE THEY PROMISED US!!? AND TASKMASTER HAD BETTER BE A VILLAIN IN THERE. Â Also, Anne Hathaway as Catwoman. I love Anne Hathaway, but as Catwoman I've got my doubts... It can't be as bad as Halle Berry though... WTF
I know the lore behind WW is that she's a virgin. But she had a relationship with Steve Trevor in Justice League by this point right? So she can't still be a virgin... Â Or is this episode from before they go back to WWII? I just know she married him in DC universe (pre-crisis) and it was a huge deal. Â So when I saw this, I was wondering if Hawk Girl was making a bit more of an insulting jab... :googly: Â Hawk's definitely insulting. The DCAU doesn't reallly acknowledge Steve Trevor. Going by Justice League animated show timelines, the Amazonians first contact with the outside world was when the aliens attacked and they all came together to fight off those invaders. The first two seasons definitely do not count for most of the stuff that went on in the comics. Yes what you're talking about is a huge deal and probably will be touched on the new TV series but the animated universe sort of ignores all that. Just like it ignores the timelines of the green lanterns. Bringing lore was harder for them. The Justice League universe is even slightly different canon from the DCAU Batman from the 90s, though it is in canon with Batman of the future/Batman Beyond. All of these are in different 'universe' from 'The Batman' show which is different from the batman B&B which is different from the new Young Justice show. Â Most lore for some reason just is ignored. Otherwise the whole cadmus arc should've gotten a lot more differently than it did. But at least they did incorporate the Suicide Squad for one episode . Â Steve Trevor was largely ignored during that period in the comics I think. Wasn't the show around the time of Identity Crisis? Â p.s. the new All-Star Superman movie is quite nice. Shame about Dwayne Mcduffie though...

It's in production hell actually. RR might not have time to do that movie. We could consider the movie to happen after Fox finishes Aronofsky's Wolverine. This is mostly because Green Lantern 2 has already been greenlit and is in preproduction. We should expect that movie by 2013 roughly unless of course GL 1 fails. RR wants to do the movie but Fox wants to get it done sooner. It's better if he walked away due to his lack of time. What's holding it back is his schedule and the fact that if GL1 is definitely a success it's more than likely that WB will press for a quicker timeframe for the sequel. Hot Heart
Things I have learned from Chris Claremont's writing for X-Men:  - If you're not sure the audience understands that two characters are in a relationship, even if the whole conversation revolves around the concept, make sure one of them addresses the other as 'lover' at the earliest opportunity. - If some of the action might be unclear, have one of the characters explains what is happening as clinically or scientifically as possible, even if they are alone. - Australians say 'mate' every other sentence. - Villains always speak their thoughts aloud, heroes occasionally do this. - I don't know if I can credit him for these but ZAM! WHAMMO! KRAKOV! CHOOMP! and ZARG! are the greatest sound effects ever. - Never write 'Wolverine, you heard it too?' followed by the caption 'The mutant known only as Logan'. WTF
I've really not had time to catch up with comics since November. Anyone here read Brightest Day or JLA:Generation Lost? Just wanted to know what people thought (I mean I know the synopsis of the stories, I was a cbr regular, now I just visit from time to time).    I do hope Jaime's death isn't permanent. He seemed quite likeable. I was indifferent to Ryan Choi as the Atom (so didn't care about his death) but Jaime as the Beetle really worked for me. Faiblesse Des Sens
Staying up to date on superhero comics seems silly. It's endless
Hot Heart
But if you don't stay up to date and then look back at what has been happening, it becomes much more apparent how ridiculous a lot of it is. WTF
Very true about how absurd it can be. For instance just look up Alan Scott's new green lantern costume. It's on par with electron blue supes. Â As for keeping oneself updated, it's like everything really. Soaps, games, films, drama and even local news sometimes. It seems trivial except for the last one. Â Truth is we need entertainment outside our personal living dramas.
Faiblesse Des Sens
Non superhero comics are more often less ridiculous and lead somewhere though. And they end.
