danielpholt
I'll probably pick this up at work with discount, I've not played it at all and there's sod all else out in July so it'll give me something to play.
FredEffinChopin
I wish I could play it for the first time again.
SomTervo
I told myself I'd only get Remastered if they offered a PS3-PS4 upgrade plan. I've seen nothing on that. They haven't mentioned one, have they?
Strangelove
No. And I dont think its going to happen either. And if it ever does, itll be for the digital PS3 version. But even that I don't think will happen.
TCP
If it was happening, we would have heard already.
TheMightyEthan
A visual comparison of the two versions. Look, the PS4 version is slightly clearer!
TCP
That's a pretty big difference. Also I love the way they were like "oh you had a 360 last year and didn't play The Last of Us? Fuck you Xbot here's some spoilers".
TheMightyEthan
They did put a warning.
TCP
Yeah but if you're at the press conference, what are you suppose to do? If you're watching it in a theatre? Get up and walk out? Cover your eyes and ears and hum?
SomTervo
Ouch, forgot about the conference context. Brutal. Yeah, I'm still holding out hope on an upgrade plan, no matter how totally unrealistic that expectation is. I know my gf would love TLoU and I was gonna nag her to play it on PS4. Strangelove
This happened days ago, but the game price was dropped by $10. Its $49.99. I think thats pretty good for a remaster with all the dlc.
TheMightyEthan
I can't bring myself to pay more than $40, even though I know that's unrealistic.
danielpholt
I can't bring myself to pay more than $40, even though I know that's unrealistic. It's still up for $73 on amazon.co.uk.
Strangelove
Apparently the remastered version is going to be 50GB. Thats about 2 entire days of nonstop downloading for me. And theres no preloading for it either, so yeah. Damn. I will still say that this game is the exception, its nothing to really worry about. I dont think a lot of games will get up to filling an entire 50gb bluray until maybe MGSV. Edited July 22, 2014 by Strangelove
TheMightyEthan
Your connection maxes out at 300 kB/s? Weak.
Strangelove
Yeah, pretty much. It really doesnt bother me til videogames come into the picture. Which isnt often. Edited July 22, 2014 by Strangelove
Eleven
Aren't we supposed to be able to play PS4 games after a smaller download?
TheMightyEthan
That feature has yet to be implemented.
Eleven
It's implemented! I think I ended up with a 2 GB initial download on Watch Dogs, and Lego Marvel is about to complete in 1 min (920 MB). That was just the installer for Lego. But I think I saw it on some game before. I had to download a huge "update". Hmm... Edited July 23, 2014 by eleven
TCP
Didn't Killzone have this feature?
TheMightyEthan
IIRC they used Killzone as the example in their little trailer about the feature back at E3 2013, but I didn't think the feature ever materialized. One of those "we're still planning to do it at some point" things.
Eleven
No. Apparently it's implemented. AC4 apparently did this. I think Watch Dogs did, too. I have at least 1 game that did this. AC4, Watch_Dogs, or Tomb Raider. It'll have multiple downloads, and after the smaller download completes, you can play that. Then it'll continue downloading the other file. Strangelove
Yeah, that feature I think has been there since day 1. I was able to play Injustice while it was downloading and Infamous SS as well. It doesn't really tell you when you can do that though. TheMightyEthan
Okay, good to be wrong about that. So hopefully you should be able to start TLoU without waiting 48 hours.
Connorrrr
Yeah that feature is definitely there... The load times and things are atrocious mind you, but it's quite nice. Was there any news about an upgrade for PS3 players? I heard they were thinking about it?
