TheMightyEthan
Gamestop is offering 50% credit for anyone that trades in a PS3 copy of TLoU, that's the closest to an upgrade program I've heard about.
Connorrrr
I've not heard anything for us Brits... It's a bitter pill to swallow at the price... 38 gpb is good for a PS4 game, generally speaking but I paid that for the PS3 version not all that long ago... I'll probably still buy it. Gamestop (website) are actually selling it for £30 if you think that's a better deal? I've got it pre-ordered on Amazon cause I know it'll be here come Friday morning. Aint got no time to wait around.
Connorrrr
I decided to just bite the bullet and order it from Amazon for £38. I have Prime so at least I know it'll be here on the day.
CorgiShinobi
If any of you were able, would you guys actually go ahead with GameStop's trade-in offer of 50% off? I still don't have a PS4 yet, but I never did get any of the DLC for The Last of Us and it might be worth replay in its Remastered state. Vecha
Yeah, I just heard about this...I'm planning to do this tomorrow! 25 dollars is soooo much better.
TheMightyEthan
Yeah, if I already owned the PS3 version I'd do it.
Connorrrr
Have you not played it Ethan? Oh man am I psyched to see what you think. It's such a great game, kinda wish I could be playing it for the first time on PS4!
TheMightyEthan
I rented it.
Connorrrr
Ahhh, that's kind of a shame. It's one of those games I wish I could experience again like the first time. (Bioshock Infinite would be another)
CorgiShinobi
Eh, I decided against getting the game all over again. I already have such a backlog I don't really want a new version of a recent game to take over the few games I'm close to completing. If you guys haven't figured it out, I have a problem with dropping games right near the end.
Little Pirate
I remember hating that it was PS3 exclusive because the trailers were great, so I'm pretty happy they're moving it to the PS4.This will be my first time playing this game, I went ahead and got myself a digital copy. I'm pretty excited to try it.
TheMightyEthan
Yeah, totally worth it if you haven't played it before. Since I played and beat it on PS3 I'm waiting for a price drop before I get this version.
Strangelove
60 fps is so nice to have. Feels good. Photo mode is also pretty rad. Edited July 29, 2014 by Strangelove
TheMightyEthan
I watched a 60 fps video Digital Foundry made, and it seemed like it was dropping frames quite often. Like, it never really got below the mid-50's, but it was enough to seem stuttery.
Strangelove
Im up to meeting Marlene and I havent seen any dropped frames. And from reading DF, dropping below 60 is rare. and even then its only about 54 or 55. The most it ever drops is 46 when you first fight the bloater and thats about it. Im not as sensitive as you or other people are to frame drops, but I can see them. I dont see them here. Not yet anyways. On another sort of related subject, the cutscenes and gameplay have become almost seamless if it wasnt for that minuscule prerecorded look to some of the cutscenes, which is really rare. A lot of scenes that used to be prerecorded are now done in-game using the same models. Its fantastic. TheMightyEthan
The video from DF was from the first area after the prologue, and it was dropping frames all over the place. There were a lot of people in the comments mentioning it, and how it didn't jive with DF's description of dropped frames being few and far between. TCP
I haven't noticed a single dropped frame. Also photo mode is the best. Every game needs this feature.
Strangelove
Yeah I dont know what to tell you. The framerate has been perfectly stable til now for me.
Baconrath
If they made a Christmas-themed DLC they could call it The Fest of US
Mister Jack
Man, I normally don't think much of it when I'm playing a game at 30 FPS but when you switch back and forth between 30 and 60 in the same game while you play it the difference is like night and day.

Dabubbies
So I owned an xbox last gen but I have a PS4 now. I picked this up because I've heard all the good reviews. Should I have rented or was it a smart buy?
TheMightyEthan
Totally worth it.
Dabubbies
Sweet man. I'm looking to dive into it. Thanks for replying btw. Also, since it is my first time playing and I'm thinking of recording it and maybe recording some mp. Would anyone be interested? I don't wanna seem pushy or anything. But feedback would be pretty cool on this
