Waldorf and Statler
Does it say anything about TWEWY that adds anything to the ending? If so, could you tell me in spoilers since I have no plans in playing this game?
「Advent Chaos」
Anything new that adds to the ending? Nope not really. Although : The timeframe where you meet all the players seems to be either in Week 1 or post game. Of course this being Kingdom Hearts any cross over from Disney or SQUEX games' make no sense what so ever. Point being, it seems that Neku has come to like Joshua as a friend, but the wording of a few cutscenes makes it seem as if they had known each other for a while. I don't if you recall, but back in TWEWY in "ANOTHER DAY", as you go through the floors of "Pork City" to fight Panthera Cantus, Neku keeps talking about the fateful day where his one and only friend died before they could meet up at Udagawa's backstreets (where Neku "died" in the beginning of the game). Mind you this is all curiosity and speculation from my part, but it I think that Joshua & Neku may have had some sort connection in the past, way before TWEWY. Other than that, Joshua seemed to be a little sad about returning to their world, Shibuya, as if he knew he wasn't going to see the others after they returned. That's about it as far as TWEWY cameos go, there might be a detail or two in the credits which I'm nearing to. Oh forgot to mention, the spoiler shown in your first visit of Traverse Town with Joshua After you're done taking out the dream Eater, Sora & Riku meet up from their respective dimensions while still being in a state of flux, they both see Joshua perfectly fine from their perspectives and as Joshua gives more exposition he takes off by revealing his Angel Wings. Both Sora & Riku are left with a DAFUQ? expression and yep. I am really close to finishing this game, unfortunately my Level 1 Proud mode run has hit a snag, one of the final bosses, after depleting his HP, he will move to the center of the stage and transform into a particular immovable "strikeable" object with it's own set of HP bars (4 I believe) and you will have a certain amount of time before the object's HP is restored and the boss is revived (with only 2 HP bars, but still). While you try to destroy the immovable object, it will send multiple invulnerable versions of the "Mysterious Enemy" from Birth By Sleep. If you've ever seen the fight against "M.F." you'll know that this is just bullshit. Getting close is nigh impossible while trying to stay alive and attack. Depleting 2 HP bars in level 1 takes me, and this is if I'm very aggressive and lucky, about 7 minutes. Not enough to destroy the object and finish this goddamn battle. I'm thinking of just giving up and level up a bit before trying this battle again.
Strangelove
Im not sure why, but Im finding this game kind of hard. Mostly the bosses. Ive gotten stuck at basically every single boss. All I can do is grind. Ugh.
FMW
That's really a Kingdom Hearts staple though, having boss fight difficulty spikes. Remember in Kingdom Hearts 1 when you fought against Riku and suddenly needed to perfectly block a sequence of his attacks just to get an opening even though you haven't had to use the block at all through the rest of the game? Remember in Chain of Memories when you hit Captain Hook and suddenly need to be able to pull out Zero cards to cancel combination attacks despite all the lead up combat requiring nothing more than mashing attack? Or back to Kingdom Hearts 1 again when you fight that giant shadow gargoyle thing near the end and suddenly need to use magic effectively, despite that being unnecessary all through the first 25 hours of that game? I'm not saying that this should be permissible or acceptable, but maybe it shouldn't be a surprise?
Strangelove
Birth By Sleep and KH2 werent difficult games. At all. If I remember correctly, people bitched about KH2 being too easy and dumbed down. All I know is that Rinzler is pissing me off.
FMW
I just finished this game! My thoughts are: 1. The Disney levels in this game are unusually good. Fantasia is probably the single best level in the franchise. Great visual and audio design. 2. Did anyone ever doubt that Kingdom Hearts, so well known for it's convoluted nonsense narrative, would take advantage of the dream theme to pull some multi-layered Inception nonsense? But I was impressed when they went beyond dreams within dreams within alternate realities and threw in Time Travel too. In Bioshock Infinite I hated this, but in Kingdom Hearts it's not even close to being good so it's something I laugh at as opposed to something I'm disappointed in. Totally awesome. 3. Dream Eaters are an interesting idea, and they solve the problem Kingdom Hearts has had for a long time in just recycling the same heartless enemies over and over. Unfortunately, I feel like they aren't integrated into the game as party members terribly well. Every time I went into the Dream Eater menu the music and incredibly garish designs made me feel like I was going into a different game that I didn't like as much. I feel like there are too many dream eaters and they get skills too slowly. You know, unless you wanna spend a TON of time feeding them and poking them and poking balloons at them. It becomes clear just how unimportant Dream Eaters are to the core of the combat design with the last few bosses. For me at least, they might as well not have been there. 4. Square Enix said this game was supposed to move the narrative forward. I say it does not. It has been clear ever since Birth By Sleep that the arc is going to be that Sora does a magic heart thing and brings back all the protagonists of the games released since KH 2 (and possibly a few NPCs besides) and then they all get together and beat the evil bad guys in the biggest multi-stage boss battle ever. What this game achieves is getting the characters to a point where they're kinda aware of that eventuality. Not doing it, not finding out how to do it... but at least that's kind of their gameplan. Which would be okay, except everyone already knew that was the gameplan. They spent an entire game getting the characters caught up with the players. On the up side, future Kingdom Hearts installments have the potential to be way cool if Square Enix goes all in on letting us play as all these different characters. They've got a large enough cast now that they can do a trademark super confusing Kingdom Hearts storyline by switching perspectives constantly, and then they can also mix and match their characters pretty well. Some of them could be fun to see bounce off one another. My proposed teams are team "I'm angstier than thou" (Riku/Terra +1), team "I have a keyblade too!" (Axel/Kairi/Xion), and team "Happy Disney Fun Time" (Sora/Mickey/Ventus). Others combinations are possible and encouraged. How about team "Definitely not Sora" (Ventus/Roxas + 1). Waldorf and Statler
I tried to play the game, my friends let me borrow it but I'm gonna return in. This is just one of those games where the 3DS and I can't look eye to eye.The circle pad placement on the pro is awkward for something that requires you to constantly move the camera around and playing it with the trigger instead doesn't help. It's too fast-paced for a small screen imho so I'm left getting confused as to what the fuck is going on in combat if most of it involves doing the dash against a wall and attacking. Regular attacks are super slow. Believe it or not I had more fun with 358/2 days.
Strangelove
Yeah, I feel the same way. using the CCP is actually more difficult than the triggers. The game plays like a real full fledged KH game, but theres something about it that makes it really dull. Birth By Sleep was so much better, even if theyre both almost identical gameplaywise. Waldorf and Statler
Maybe the camera worked better in Birth By Sleep but with the clusterfuck that is attempting to use that fast moving mechanic. they should've considered making the camera better. Maybe it was too close to the characters I don't know. All I know is that the game was stressing me out more than I was having fun with it. And yeah the area I got to play was uninspired and full of random battles. I mean that tends to be the case but at least I was having fun with the combat to not care. Not anymore. Strangelove
Switching characters automatically was ass. Your Pokemon are ass. The free flow thing, while it looked cool, was also ass. Its just a bunch of dumbass new gameplay gimmicks on top of a very good system. Its just half assed.
Waldorf and Statler
It's exactly seven asses. Also I never thought we'd ever hate on a game together. Let's enjoy this moment as they are few and far in between. Next up we'll meet up in this exact spot when Final Fantasy XIII Versus/XV ends up disappointing everybody.
