P4: Gritty Reboot
YMMV but Phantom Hourglass was more enjoyable than Minish Cap. I can't beat Minish Cap for the life of me because I get lost and bored every time.
TCP
My only problem with Minish Cap was that it was a bit too short, but to me it just reminded me of A Link to the Past (but, not as good, of course). You weren't forced to map your route out, you didn't have to repeat a dungeon over, and over, and over again (with a time limit, dammit), and you got to play the game with buttons! I really shouldn't comment on Minish Cap, it's been so long since I beat it, but I've just finished the first dungeon on 3DS and thought it was pretty good. Basically: this post has just turned into why I hate Phantom Hourglass, so much, so very, very much....

One of these days I need to finish Oracle of Ages. Losing my save due to a battery failure really made me lose interest in it but I'm over halfway done with it. Faiblesse Des Sens
Ugh Phantom Hourglass was so frustrating, especially considering how awesome the first four portable Zelda's were. Â From what I played, I agreed. I don't know what it was about Phantom Hourglass but I could never get into it. Spirit Tracks though, I liked. Connorrrr
I just got my first gaming PC ever so I can pull ahead to a really early lead this year because I have a huge Steam library that I've never been able to touch. Just in the past 7 days I have played and beaten:  Bastion (twice! I love this game to death) Batman Arkham Asylum (100% riddler completion) Batman Arkham City (not 100% riddler completion, but I just finished it 5 hours ago. I'll get there.) Plants vs. Zombies (closing in on 100% completion)  And there will be more to come! I'm currently in the progress of playing: Dragon Age Origins Shin Megami Tensei Digital Devil Saga 2 Shin Megami Tensei Devil Survivor  None of which I have previously completed.  Glad you're enjoying them  I completed Arkham City in Janurary. Currently working on Saints Row: The Third, Skyrim, AC: Revelations and I finally hope to brave Amnesia.
TheMightyEthan
Arkham City. Great game, built well on the first one.
deanb
Also beaten Arkham City. Only ~26% done though
TheMightyEthan
I'm 58% done, but I also played another 4 hours after beating it.

Luftwaffles
Bulletstorm. Short, but didn't necessarily overstay its welcome. The ending was meh, though, completely setting it up for a sequel. Definitely had some mechanics that I wish were in other games, though, and the writing was completely and utterly over the top, which I personally like.
CorgiShinobi
So yeah, as I said in my status update, I beat Sonic Generations tonight. Â I know reviewers weren't enthutastic about the game primarily consisting of older stages from all the prior Sonic games, but they're all well done. Sometimes it was weird to play a "Modern" stage as Classic Sonic, but it was great fun. It wasn't all the challenging until I got to the Sonic Unleashed level, but in the end it's not that hard to S Rank the stages. Â If I were to rate it, I'd say: 8/
Connorrrr
I enjoyed (and still am enjoying) Sonic Generations. It's the first Sonic game I've even remotely enjoyed in a looooooong time, so that's a plus. Not played much of it yet though I bought it in the Steam winter sale along with a bunch of other games I've been prioritising.
Cyber Rat
I'm currently in the process of trying to get 100% of Sonic Generations. Need an S rank on two more stages, but at least I've finished all the challenges. Getting the red rings is gonna be hell, though.

Quite a few Acts I've completed, but I haven't bothered to look online so there's a ton of other Acts where I'm missing one or two Red Rings. Strangelove
Is Sonic Generations worth buying for someone who doesnt like the 3D Sonic stuff and prefer 2D?
Hot Heart
Is Sonic Generations worth buying for someone who doesnt like the 3D Sonic stuff and prefer 2D? It's tough to say. I'd never played a 3D Sonic and did not like the idea. Hell, I was even a little put off by the demo, at first. As I saw a bit more about the game it grew on me, though, and I actually wound up liking it for the most part (still, fuck, Crisis City Zone). For me, there was just a fairly long adjustment period. I think the effort that has gone into the level design really helps it though, and you can't really fail at the game (a Game Over just puts you back to the start of the stage with 5 lives). Â If they're dead set against 3D Sonic though, I'm not sure I'd recommend it based on the 2D stuff alone.
Little Pirate
I feel pretty accomplished beating this.
deanb
Uncharted 3. It was good, the set pieces were pretty epic. I felt Uncharted 2 was better though. Good end to the series though.
TheFlyingGerbil
without spoilers, please, as I still haven't got round to playing 2 yet, but I didn't realise UC3 was the last? Does that mean no more Nathan Drake? or no more Uncharted at all? Edited January 21, 2012 by TheFlyingGerbil
deanb
Well there's the Vita one still to come. Drake is still alive and well at the end, but it had a feeling that it was him done with uncharting for now. And with Naughty Dog moving on to that Last of Us. It could all change of course, and there's no official "this is the end" like you have with ME3, but what with the in-game and out-game events it does feel that way. toxicitizen
I really didn't get the feeling that U3 was the last one or any kind of ending to the series. Of course, I'm not assuming U4 is a sure thing either, but this is such a huge franchise for Sony that I'd be surprised if they shelved the "main" series entirely. Â Wouldn't mind if they gave it a break until the next gen, though. Give it some time to breathe and bring it back bigger and better in a 3-4 years. deanb
Crash Bandicoot and Jak n Daxter did pretty well too (though Jak not as much), Crash sold off to Activision and both of them were shelved when the respective consoles ended. I wouldn't be surprised with Last of Us coming next and PS4 around the corner that next it will be a new IP. Not saying it's the complete end, might be a new one years later, but I think this is the last of Drake for the PS3 at least.
TCP
I didn't get the feeling that Uncharted 3 will be the last Uncharted at all. In fact I can guarantee that we will see at least one more Uncharted, on a console, in the next 24 months. It is Sony's biggest exclusive by far, no way they're going to not milk that cash cow. Now what's interesting is whether or not it'll be developed by Naughty Dog or not. I am guessing yes, since they're split into two teams it looks like they'll be able to release a game a year.
