TheMightyEthan
I'm also a huge BttF fan but I thought that game was just mind-blowingly terrible. The premise was cool but OH MY GOD the EVERYTHING ELSE.
toxicitizen
Well, have you played any of Telltale's previous games? Because if those aren't your thing, then yeah, the BTTF license isn't really enough to carry the game if you don't like the genre/Telltale's style in the first place. Â I wouldn't say it's anywhere near terrible, though. It's not particularly amazing as far as being a point-and-click goes but I wouldn't call it anything less than average. Luftwaffles
Yeah, if you want to keep enjoying Telltale games, don't play The Walking Dead yet, FLD. I think it's far better than all of their previous works, but the tried to refine the point and click formula a bit and were completely successful. In fact, I hate point and clicks usually, and I loved The Walking Dead. Really looking forward to Episode 3.
TheMightyEthan
I played Jurassic Park and liked it okay because I'm also a huge JP fan. That was less point-and-clicky though.

Sounds like you simply don't like point-and-clicks very much, then. Because based on everything I've heard and seen, Jurassic Park is the one that's godawful. Â Still kinda want to play it, though. Should be good for a laugh or two.
Mal
Ys Oath of Felghana  After this final boss, I start to wonder if there is a overarcing story to the Ys games. Guess I'll find out in Origins. By the way Adol is still a badass.
TheMightyEthan
Â I liked it about as much as the first one, though the Move implementation was fantastic (aside from the calibration constantly getting off, but I was able to work around that by shaking the move back and forth violently from time to time). The final boss was probably the easiest boss in the game though. Haven't decided what to play next yet.
Cyber Rat
Max Payne 3. Don't play it if you want a Max Payne game.
Faiblesse Des Sens
Max Payne 3. Don't play it if you want a Max Payne game. Â Don't play it if you want a game at all. It's a movie with a few playable parts.
toxicitizen
Beat Puzzle Agent 2 a few days ago. Â It was eh.. okay, I guess. It's like a bad version of Professor Layton. Â It goes for a cool Twin Peaks/Fargo-style setting and plot but doesn't really pull it off. It's worth a shot if you're aching for a puzzler and you can get it for less than 5 bucks, I guess. But otherwise I wouldn't really recommend it. Â I think the most entertaining part of it was the Steam achievements. By the time I finished the 3-4 hours story, I had earned 50 out of 52. They literally give you one for every single puzzle you solve. It's fucking ridiculous
Eleven
Finished AC: Revelations. Â It's really more of the same, but if you love AC then you'll like this, too. Brotherhood felt better though. Â Regarding the story... Man... you really shouldn't avoid these two extra games. You'd get lost playing the third (well, the fifth really) if you haven't. So much stuff has happened. And there really are "Revelations" in this game. Â But I'm not complaining. However, I think they should finish the damn story with AC3. Some parts of me wants them to milk it because I just like playing these games so much, but then that means we'd have to wait for another year for the story to really end... Â I'd definitely be buying AC3 day one. I hope steam does a preload/download thing so I can play on the Tuesday it gets released. Â Desmond levels suck. I'm gonna watch those on youtube instead. To think I gathered all data fragments for those things... Edited July 23, 2012 by eleven
Eleven
Beat Arkham City. Real ending spoilers below! Â Â So... clayface was the final boss? I was kinda miffed about that. I totally wasn't expecting him to be the final boss. I thought it was Ra's, until he impaled himself... Â Good thing there's no "Killer Croc" level. I hated that in Arkham Asylum. But then I don't think there's a lot of variety in the Arkham City levels. Â Still, I liked the gameplay overall. Beating up thugs as Batman or Catwoman using the freeflow system really works for me. I didn't do a lot of the side quests. That will be next, but it'll have to wait as I need to catch up on other games. Â Oh I forgot, there's still the Harley Quinn's revenge DLC. I think I should have it, I'll check, I have to do that too. And maybe do some of the challenge maps. Â I completely avoided riddler here. His thugs doesn't even show up as I never went to the church. Still a lot of stuff to do! Â
TheMightyEthan
I was really glad that in AC they didn't   make every boss fight just a super version of the super mutant thugs.   That really grated on me in AA.
toxicitizen
Hardly feels like "beating" the game, but last night I finished the short campaign in Shogun 2. Short my ass, damn thing took me about 20 hours. A significant portion of that time was spent trying stuff, reloading and generally learning the game, though. But I also auto-resolved most of the fights so I've no idea whether that was particularly slow or not. Â I'll probably be going for a long campaign in the near future. Also really glad I impulse bought that Total War Mega Pack during the Steam sale now. If they're all as much fun as Shogun 2 then it was a 12,50$ well spent. veldurak
Ghost Trick was a great game. I highly recommend it, on DS or iOS.
toxicitizen
Gemini Rue. As far as gameplay goes, it's standard point-and-click fare with a basic cover/shooting system. It also doesn't require any crazy moon logic, so the puzzles aren't frustrating. The few times I got stuck were because I was overlooking something obvious. Â Like most point-and-clicks, the story is the main draw. It gets kinda predictable near the end but overall I thought it was very interesting. Also, the atmosphere and soundtrack are just amazing. I'd definitely recommend giving it a shot next time you feel like playing a point-and-click adventure. Edited July 27, 2012 by FLD
toxicitizen
Machinarium. Was much shorter than I expected. Figured I was about halfway through when I stopped playing last night but I only had about an hour left. Â Don't know why it took me so long to play it but that game is fantastic. Everything about it is just insanely charming.
TheMightyEthan
Â Felt mostly like a slightly crappier version of Defense Grid. Fun though.

toxicitizen
Botanicula  It's a bit like Machinarium, only less puzzle-y. Some of the "puzzles" basically boil down to clicking everything and watching what happens until you get the right one. At times it really feels like an interactive animation film more than a game, which would be a problem if it didn't ooze so much charm from every pore. You gotta hand it to Amanita, their art style is unique and beautiful.  It's only about 3 hours long but it feels just right for what it is. 10 bucks feels a bit overpriced but I think I paid 3 bucks for it during the summer sale and at that price it was entirely worth it.  edit: no point making two posts in a row so I'll just edit this one  Batman: Arkham Asylum GOTY  I'd played it on PS3 when it first came out but this was my first time playing it on PC. Some moves were a bit tough to combo and it was annoying trying to move precisely during some sections with weird camera angles (mostly the Scarecrow bits and the Poison Ivy boss fights), but other than that it controlled much better than I expected with mouse and keyboard.  Kinda made me want to invest in a proper 360 gamepad for Windows, though. I tried using x360ce with my current one but it was a bit of a pain to get it to work, it made the game more unstable than it already was and the sticks were kinda floaty and weird. Eleven
Borderlands. Â So... Â Â Â At one point in the game i said "This game is really fun but I think there's not going to be any more to it. I should just rush the story and get back to the quests later." Â So i did that. This game has the worst story of any game I've recently played. The game is so fun and i bet multiplayer is better, but to end your game like that after 1 big boss battle at the end... I don't know. I want to punch the guy who made that happen. Fighting games have better narrative than this. Â Still, fun game. But without a payoff in the end, I have no desire to replay it again. Â Â
deanb
Yeah the story sucks, it works on the basis that You'll play mp and that will make its own story.
danielpholt
Braid. Some of those puzzles get really difficult towards the end. Great game though.
Hot Heart
I remember early on, when I was completely overthinking the Borderlands story and hoping for some really neat twist. It was something to do with that Marcus guy having created some kind of economy where people search for this vault that's all one big ruse, but he's making money off all the weapons and such. I mean, a freakin' bobblehead of him is a form of currency... Â Silly me.
