Thursday Next
I've learned that lesson in my history of playing RPGs. "Priority" has been filed under "Main Quest", "Progress Story" and "Point of No Return". Of course, that did bite me (or rather Yeoman Chambers) in the arse in ME2. Hot Heart
Of course, that did bite me (or rather Yeoman Chambers) in the arse in ME2. Jacob did try to tell you. Of course, no one listens to Jacob, he is a fool...
Thursday Next
Ugh, I never talked to Jacob beyond doing his loyalty mission.
TheMightyEthan
He was just such a bland character. He was like Kaiden in ME1, except even less interesting.
Thursday Next
Kind of wish I'd kept Ashley alive in stead of Kaiden, it was her own fault though.
TheMightyEthan
The only playthrough I kept Kaiden for was the one where I romanced him.

Hot Heart
Ashley doesn't seem half as interesting in ME3, and I think Kaidan actually comes off as slightly more likeable, despite minor differences.
deanb
The only playthrough I kept Kaiden for was the one where I romanced him. Creepy! I'd say that it's because as Ethan has pointed out many times he likes to play RPGs as women because he feels those are characters he can most closely associate with*, but given Kaiden is bi it could go either way on this. *and he's a perv that spends the whole game looking at their butts.
TheMightyEthan
Kaiden's not bi in ME1, he's straight.

TheMightyEthan
343 nailed it. I don't know if it was my favorite Halo, but it was definitely Halo.

TCP
Just watching the credits roll on Assassin's Creed 3. My favourite in the series and maybe my favourite game of the year.

That's precisely what I was referring to. Ethan and I both agreed that despite playing as FemShep, seducing a male character is still weird. TheMightyEthan
Yeah, ordinarily I wouldn't have done that at all, but I was trying to generate different states for import into Mass Effect 2.
excel_excel
FInished Solatorobo: Red the Hunter. Really enjoyed it, JRPG style presentation and a simple but fun battle system and it looked lovely. Best looking DS game ever I think, lovely prerendered backgrounds and nice 3D models. TheMightyEthan
Halo 4 solo on Legendary. Now Chewy can't act like he's better than me any more.
Thursday Next
Finished my first full Shepard playthrough. Thought the end of 3 was great. Maybe playing them all together makes the ending feel more coherent? The lack of waiting has not allowed me to build it up and put it on some pedestal that is totally unrealistic? The fact that I was not involved in the community discussions means I do not feel as invested or entitled as those who felt that their input gave them some right of ownership over the franchise? Or maybe it's because it's been run down so much over the internet that my expectations were low. In any event. That was a great trilogy. Now I need something else to immerse myself in. The Witcher didn't really do it for me.
TheMightyEthan
Probably all of that combined with the fact that you got to play the extended cut on your first playthrough. The extended cut fixed 95% of my problems with the ending.

toxicitizen
Dishonored. Took me longer than I would've liked since I've barely had any time to play the past couple weeks but I finally got around to playing the last two missions this week-end. I already mentioned how much I loved it and why in the "What are you currently playing" thread, so I won't repeat myself here. All I want to add is that the ending is pretty anticlimatic and there isn't much payoff to the story. But that's not that big a deal considering the gameplay is absolutely fantastic.
Mal
343 nailed it. I don't know if it was my favorite Halo, but it was definitely Halo. Just got done with this and this is pretty much my feeling about the game. Solid game. Makes me wonder how Halo 5 will turn out like. Will it be this trilogy's Halo 2? Regardless, I foresee a 720 just for Halo 5...
excel_excel
Beat Hotel Dusk: Room 215. Loved it. Its an adventure/visual novel, in that you explore the hotel in a 3D environment, but your interactions with characters are visual novel in a nature. The memorable characters, the smart writing, the beautiful rotoscoped sprites, the puzzles, this is top stuff. The way the characters change and develop over the game is just so well written and natural feeling. Its like you are getting to know actual people. Now to get the sequel!
deanb
Runespell: Overture. It's a bit shit. Could maybe do with some proper form of levelling up (instead of "pass story point B get HP+ card B") and maybe some balancing; Enemies tend to be stronger than you, and require less "RP" to pull off more powerful attacks than you, thus the only thing between you and them is pretty much the luck of the draw. Most wins will be narrow. Because there's no levelling up there's no incentive to do any battles beyond those in the quests, and the storyline is pretty short n flimsy.
