toxicitizen
Sleeping Dogs. I thoroughly enjoyed it. It's standard open-world fare with a melee combat system straight out of Arkham City. The Hong Kong setting added a nice bit of flavor to differentiate it from other games in the genre and the story is actually quite good. It's a bit lacking in the side-missions department, though. Not as barren as L.A. Noire but nowhere near as much stuff to do as in something like GTA.
Luftwaffles
Yeah, that was how I felt about it as well. It didn't necessarily do anything better than any current open world games or series, but it was really really fun throughout, and that's reason enough for me to enjoy it. TCP
Finally finished platinuming the PS3 version of PS All-Stars (my 5th platinum! 4th of the year!). What a great game! With the exception of Sir Daniel, all characters were fun to play as and had unique styles (except the two Coles, that was a strange decision...). I haven't played a Smash Bros game since the N64, so I don't have much to compare on, but I definitely hope to see some more PSASBR games in the future. TheMightyEthan
I liked it a lot. I didn't really like NSMBWii, but that was mostly because I found holding the Wiimote sideways to be pretty uncomfortable, using the stick on the nunchuck too imprecise, and I didn't like the shoe-horned-in motion controls. Playing NSMBU on the Wii U Pad fixed all those problems, and I really enjoyed it.

Waldorf and Statler
I beat Hitman. It was stressful like the previous games, but moreso in the action-packed you're-being-hunted levels. To the point I gave up. I would only recommend it to Hitman fans as the game can get very stressful unless you play in easier modes.
toxicitizen
Gave up on finishing it or gave up on being stealthy? I'm stubborn as hell when it comes to stealth games so I usually keep retrying until I pull it off, but there were a few spots in Absolution where I was pretty damn close to running out of patience. toxicitizen
Mark of the Ninja. Holy shit, this was one of the best games I've played all year! It actually gave me some flashbacks of the old Splinter Cell games. Hiding in the shadows, taking out lights, only striking when you know for a fact you can take your target down and disappear. This is pure stealth and I loved every second of it. I am really hoping for a sequel.
Waldorf and Statler
gave up on attempting being stealthy. I never went guns blazing but if the next door was in between me and a bunch of people I'd keep walking when they noticed my disguise and if I could reach the door before they turned violent I'd go for it. If not I would hide.
Mal
Metro 2033. If it moves, kill it edition. All the Fascist and Communist scum was cleansed. I even killed all the Librarians I encountered (You can avoid most of them apparently). With that said, I was running out of ammo towards the end. Praise the Dark Ones that there were only two of the armored mutants and everything after was easy kill. Tons of "Oh fuc-" moments. Immersive as hell. Tons of fun. Ranger Hardcore, incoming I suppose.

I was kind of annoyed when I finished the game and realized there was this hidden list of requirements you had to complete to get the true ending. What sucks is whenever you get to one of those, the game gives absolutely no indication that "HEY, THIS RIGHT HERE IS KIND OF IMPORTANT SO MAYBE DON'T IGNORE IT!" TCP
Just beat the first Mass Effect, I rushed through the game the first time on 360, so took my time on this one and did a lot of the sidequests. I'm kind of contemplating going through the whole trilogy but I still would like to finish Dishonoured and MGS2 on my Vita...

Also I don't think the game even explained the Karma system. After I beat the game, I looked the wiki up and then became confused.

After I beat the game, I looked the wiki up and then became confused. Yeah, that's the problem. You never even know your actions are being recorded. And considering the reveal in the true ending, it really makes me wonder which one will be considered canon going into Last Light. Damnit, now I kinda feel like replaying the game. Don't really have the time, though.
VicariousShaner
The World Ends With You A legitimately fun RPG which probably has some of the best JRPG combat in any game I've ever played. Really unique in the ridiculous amount of systems you had to keep track of, and a really nice cast of characters. I even got attached to some of the humans with very little bearing on the plot. My favorite character in the game had to be Beat. I just really enjoyed his dialogue. The art style was pretty unique and interesting, and the cut scenes and voice-overs helped me to get immersed into the story. The music is really hit or miss, in my opinion. I couldn't stand the opening menu music, for example. I liked most of the lyrical stuff, though.
toxicitizen
Hotline Miami. It's not that long but I hadn't touched it in over a month. Finally got around to beating the last few chapters and that was one hell of a trippy game. Looking forward to the sequel. FMW
999 Better than it's first impression, but not actually good. 7.5 out of 10. In resolving it's conflict, it creates a whole new set of plot holes that replace the ones that have concerned the player through most of the game. Which is a bummer, because the way they deal with the main issues is pretty well done. At this point I do not plan to pursue the sequel. Final Fantasy XII: Revenant Wings. This game is actually way better than it gets credit for. The narrative never really succeeds at becoming more than "here's an excuse to go back and visit all your FF XII pals!" but I feel like that's really the only failing of the game. The RTS/JRPG combat hybrid they've cooked up is really fun once they finally unlock all the gameplay systems (which takes far too long I'm afraid), there's a ton of content (38 hours for my playthrough, at 92% completion), the audio is all ripped from FF XII which is to say that it's utterly fantastic, and the game is very polished. Polish is a tough thing to pin down, but this is a game with a lot of little things that didn't need to be there. Lots of optional storylines that play out if you talk to NPCs around your airship throughout the game. A ships log that people write their random thoughts and reactions to the missions in. A full loot collection/item crafting sub-system with a surprising amount of content. No glitches/bugs. You know? It's a game you can tell got enough time in development to really be the best version of itself. I score it at 9/10, would recommend to others. Alex Heat
Let's see...in the last couple months, I've beaten: Darksiders 2) I didn't like it as much as I liked the first one. Despite the leveling up and the randomized loot (which I don't like to begin with), I never felt like I was getting more powerful. I always find it kind of irritating to feel like there's been no real progression. Assassin's Creed 3) I want a naval combat game now. A straight up pirate game maybe. I dunno, I just want more shooting the shit out of other ships combat. It was way too much fun. Halo 4) Eh, it was alright.

Some kind of pirate game that revolved primarily around that mechanic would be cool as fuck.

toxicitizen
Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands. It's clearly a hastily thrown together cash grab that was made purely to capitalize on the movie's release. It's short, the story is terrible and it cuts to credits abruptly with a quick voice over wrap-up to deal with a few loose ends afterwards. That being said, it's surprisingly decent. It starts out pretty average but once you start getting some abilities like water freezing, the platforming starts being a lot of fun. I'm not the biggest Prince of Persia fan (I played Sands of Time for the first time a few years ago and didn't really see what the big deal was) but I enjoyed it enough. I still wish they'd make a sequel to the 2008 cell-shaded reboot, though. I really liked that one.
