It had the oddest ending though, you kick this bazooka out a guys hand and then the uninstall sequence pops up on Steam and hey it turns out you beat the game. So yeah just some pro-tips for anyone out there wanting to make a game: a ) Do not make it so that the button to pick up the limited health drops in a boss fight is also the same button as the basic attack. It may surprise you but not everyone needs a pick me up at 95% HP b ) Don't put a cut-scene right before the boss fights. c ) Don't make it so that you then need to put the controller down and push space to skip cut-scenes. Especially in a game that starts with "we suggest you use a controller". So yeah, kinda glad this was one of those HIB titles, and I'd certainly not recommend it. Funny. I had no problem figuring out how to skip cutscenes on my gamepad Think it was start, then X. As for the health pick ups, I felt it was the complete opposite and sometimes I'd have trouble picking them up when I wanted them. I enjoyed the game when I played it a few days ago and I certainly never encountered anything that made me feel like the game was bugged or broken, though. I'm fine with this as long as the cutscene is either skippable or there's a save after the cutscene. The cutscenes are right after the save, in fact with some you start out of cutscene, walk forward, initiate cut-scene, then boss fight. Rinse and repeat if you die. You can skip the cutscenes, but it's awkward on PC, though FLD seems to think otherwise. @FLD: How did you kill Angelo?
toxicitizen
You need to knock him in the fire on the sides of the stage. I just stood as close to it as I could, dodged when he charged me and quickly counter-attacked to push him in the flames. The most efficient way I found was to jump and use the small blades. It does a kind of diving attack and landing a couple of those in a row was usually enough to push him in the fire. He really was one of the most annoying boss fight in the game, though. :/

As I said I ended up watching some videos of "how to do it" too and they didn't end up like how it was going on my end. I was even up for streaming it in chat just to prove I wasn't insane. TCP
Just beat Mass Effect 2. Got the gold trophy for not losing any crew members. Kelly died though. Oh Kelly, how I'll miss you.... I think my favourite part was where you were driving us towards a fight, then nitro-boosted, hit another car and flipped both over. After, we just sort of casually got out of the car and you'd typed 'oops', but then it burst into flames and you could tell we were both simultaneously thinking, "Oh crap, RUUUUUUN!" It was a bit of a sneaky thing to do on BioWare's part, but the idea is that after the Collectors nab your crew you should be going straight through that relay to rescue them (and do the suicide mission, obviously). I believe, however, that you are allowed to do one more mission before going (so Legion's loyalty mission then). Not sure if you have older savegames but, basically, you want to have all possible loyalty missions out of the way before you go for the Reaper IFF. TheMightyEthan
If you do all the recruitment and loyalty missions before doing the Reaper IFF mission then you can actually do Legion's loyalty mission before your crew is nabbed and go straight through the relay without having to do any more missions. *Edit* - If you do any missions after the crew is captured the Kelly dies. If you do one mission you can save the rest of the crew beside Kelly, but the only way to save Kelly is to do no missions after the crew is captured. http://masseffect.wikia.com/wiki/Collector_Base:_The_Long_Walk Edited February 14, 2012 by TheMightyEthan

I only saw one 'red shirt' Cerberus crew member die and I presume that happens regardless. Wiki says it's Lilith that dies regardless, but I can't recall who she is. TheMightyEthan
She's a random colonist from Horizon. And yes, you can do Legion's loyalty mission, you just have to do it before your crew is captured. I always do Legion's loyalty mission. Hot Heart
I thought your crew got captured immediately after you've done the Reaper IFF mission. Or I'm guessing there's a bit inbetween, where you choose to install it, right?
TheMightyEthan
Yeah, you can do one mission after getting the IFF but before your crew is captured. It's the second mission after the IFF that triggers the crew capture.
Hot Heart
Oh, right. Now I get it. I always figured the game rail-roaded you at that point but I must admit my memory is hazy.
toxicitizen
Diablo 2: Lord of Destruction expansion. Like, 5 minutes ago. Took me a while to get to it because I had a mid-term to prepare for last week and a bunch of homework to turn in this week. But I finally managed to sink 4 hours into it last night and reached Baal. Then I proceeded to bring him down to a little under a third of his health and like a fucking idiot managed to somehow mistakenly save and quit when I was trying to use a Town Portal scroll to stock up on potions and repair my sword. I reloaded the game but the damage was done. All the enemies between me and Baal had respawned and the fight itself has you go against 4 waves of rather difficult enemies before fighting Baal himself and fuck doing that all over again after having played for that long. Never in my life did I ever wish to physically damage a video game so damn much. If it hadn't been a digital copy, I think I would've smashed the disc with a fucking hammer. Had to start the whole process again today, but now it's finally done. Between this and reading the Book of Cain (about halfway through it), needless to say I'm absolutely stoked for Diablo III! Connorrrr
I got finished with the Saints Row The Third storyline just a few hours ago. Good fun, I do plan to keep playing and finish off the city takeover stuff and just generally fuck around in the world. Other than that I'm working through Amalur and Fortune Summoners still.. toxicitizen
Dear Esther. I'd never played the original mod so I went into it blindly. It's hard to recommend but not because it's bad. It's great if you want to try something different. The graphical fidelity isn't exactly impressive but some locations look stunning nonetheless. The music and visuals combine to create an amazing atmosphere that's both beautiful and eerie. I'd recommend putting on some headphones, turning off the lights and going through it just soaking in the atmosphere and story. All that being said, it's awfully short. It took me only 60 minutes to go through it, and for the first 10 or so I still wasn't sure whether or not I was bored. But that's mostly the first area. Once you reach the second one, there's this urge to go on that sets in, to see what's around the next corner. And that's where most of the appeal lies, I think. It manages to be about exploration while being extremely linear and that's kind of a weird/interesting dichotomy. The 10$ asking price feels a bit steep considering the length and the fact that there's absolutely no reason to go through it a second time. But once I reached the end, I realized I didn't regret the purchase for the same reason L.A. Noire and Mirror's Edge were some of my favorite games this gen: it's a different experience, something unlike anything I've played before. It reminded most of titles like Braid and Limbo in spirit, but it's even less of a game than those two. Honestly, I'm hesitant to even call it a game. deanb
Yeah everything I've heard of it makes it sound stupidly short. But I've a feeling they'll manage to get a bunch of good critical reviews and it'll sell well based on that.
toxicitizen
Well it turned a profit in about 5 hours, so in my book that counts as selling well even though it's really only about 16,000 copies.
Strangelove
Finally finished The Simpsons Arcade game. You get nearly infinite continues, so its not a big deal, but this was the first time beating this game. When I was a kid I always stopped in at the forest area. It got too hard and/or i ran out of quarters. I spent over a decade never seeing what was beyond that area until now....woah. BTW Smithers was such a dick.
