37 members have voted

  1. 1. Will you buy Borderlands 2?

    • Definitely!
    • Probably at/around launch
    • Probably, at some point (if goes on sale and I need a new game)
    • Probably not
    • No.
  2. 2. If you buy it, what system will you buy it for?

    • PC
    • PS3
    • Xbox 360
    • There is absolutely no way I'm buying it.

Obviously I won't get it if it's about minecraft... but I would like to know what it's about? The youtube description is not helping...

EDIT: I might have been confused... is the video not about minecraft? Is it just a gun with an annoying sound?

I started last night as the Gunzerker, and its pretty freaking awesome. It is just dual wielding, but you guns are more accurate, with higher critical hit chances, you replenish ammo, and you can take more damage. Its basically just like the berzerker but instead of fists you use gunz.

I used an assault rifle and a sniper rifle as a gunzerker and I just fucked everything with my sniper rifle.

Its bad on the Xbox too. I plan on getting this on the PC, but a few friends got it on xbox so I bought it there for now. weapons at the bottom of the inventory cannot be seen, I can't tell if I marked them as junk, its just not a very good method when you character is in the way of your menus.

Other than that, its a great sequel to one of my favorite shooters (yes I know the shooting isn't fantabulous, but its always had so much character that I just always loved it)

How skill tree should look in PC version by default

How it really looks

That is sad.

And it's not only about skill tree. The inventory is horrible, and instead of one useful window we have this fragmented clusterfuck of a menu.

Has someone made a PC mod that does that yet?

Nope. Press q to see the whole skill tree. But you can't see skill descriptions that way.

Also, for those on PC:

go here:

steam\steamapps\common\Borderlands 2\DLC\POPremierClub\Lic

Open

WillowDLC.ini

And add these lines

[PromotionalUnlocks]

+UnlockId=1

+UnlockId=2

+UnlockId=3

+UnlockId=4

Activates special edition content.

I haven't had a problem with the inventory or skill tree menus. It does seem like there's three different ways of doing something, and if you want to make comparisons you just have to be aware of which inventory you're in. I did have beef with it today when I wanted to see what skills were activated with certain class mods, and since I'm not exclusively going down any single section, I haven't gotten very far down at Lv. 17.

I will say this, I LOVE Zer0! He makes melee attacks worth something, and very recently I learned that sometimes it's better (as Zer0) to use your melee when you're needing a Second Wind. Of course, I think only creatures will come up to you, whereas human enemies tend to stay hidden or further back.

Today I got frustrated during...

Roland's rescue mission since I had defeated every enemy EXCEPT ONE, but I also had ran out of health. Looking in the direction of where the Hyperion robot is suppose to be, I see nothing! I bleed out, lose around $2,000, and I run up to the enemy. It's legs had be blown off and was crawling behind the car I was looking at previously.

I chopped that thing until it exploded! Oh, and Roland was just standing there because obviously a legless robot means we're all done with destroying the invading enemies.

Other than that, Tiny Tina is surprisingly enjoyable. All the while I'm thinking she sounds like Ashly Burch (Hey Ash, Whatcha Playin'?)... and then I find out she is voiced by Ash. :o

I haven't had a problem with the skill trees yet since my commando [engineer] has his points so far [level 13] exclusively on the left most tree to make the turret as strong as possible. Seriously I think I have a love affair with this turret. Maybe it's because it basically is a co-op partner that doesn't fuck you over loot wise or rushes a mission and doesnt let you have fun.

Also she's my wife

And I just want to say, I have gotten really close to Axton as a character and find it insulting his bounty is the lowest. I mean sure, he's basically a jackass troll

Maya is the highest because she's a Siren the way I see it. Salvador has supposedly done a lot of crazy crap, so I'm slightly okay with him as the second highest. Zer0 assassinated someone political, but I'm guessing he probably has done other things unnoticed, and Axton, as far as I remember, has seemly gone rogue.

Making since of something arbitrary, and as much as I like Zer0, his character is kinda sadistic. At least he has some funny lines to balance it out!

Axton is basically an internet troll in a military outfit. I like that of him. When I first saw him I thought he was gonna be another perfect military salutations SIR YES SIR dude. Instead I got a guy that loves the turret as much as I do

"Have you met the wife?"

"Another one, good one baby!"

"What would I do without you?"

Indeed, what WOULD I do without her.

At first I thought Zer0's Deception ability was kinda lame, but I've learned how to use it and it has saved me a few times. My favorite strategy is to get all the enemies hundled together with my hologram, toss a grenade, and reap the rewards. i haven't gotten to the point where I can take out multiple enemies in one turn, or even throw kunai.

Also, if anyone hasn't realized yet, you get tokens for your Badass Rank. Said tokens can be used to give you bonuses for all your stats. I didn't realize this today when I had a little over 50 tokens. It made a difference and, remember, tip Moxxi enough and you'll get a gun!

Mad Moxxi's Bad Touch + My Stats = Best Corrosive Weapon!

(If you pay more later on, you'll get variants of the weapon that will scale to your level, so don't feel bad for having it at Lv. 15)

If you like SMG's then sure they're great. I personally don't. My Engineer is an assault rifle, shotgun and rockets kind of guy.

Also I have decided to go halfway through the guerrilla skill tree to get the rocket shooting turret, then go to the right most tree and get health regen, more health AND double turrets with shields. Commando is sexually abusing my fantasies. I still want to play as siren but HOT DAMN am I loving the commando with emphasis on turrets.

I think it's the relationship and the comments by Axton. This turret feels like a loved one to him and after knowing his backstory from the audio log in his bag and the whole dogtag thing, it's all the more touching. I put feelings into inanimate objects too, I have a companion cube I call Hugo the Cubo and my car I gave a name to. Maybe I can relate to him.

I do like SMGs, but they have to have an ability. I accidentally got the trophy for hitting a flying enemy with a Tediore after my first "grenade" type. I thought at first you lost the gun for good, but it respawns in your hands! The grenade ability has saved me a few times (wish I was recording too).

Bad Touch had some slow reload time, but even at my level, I can reload weapons pretty fast. I have one of every type of weapon, but with only three slots right now, I usually have a sniper rifle, pistol, and SMG. I avoided shotguns, but I came across a few good ones. The one you get for killing the "sewer mutants who love pizza" is amazing. Assault rifles have typically been good, but the pistols and SMGs I have usually do the job.

Except for the ones that acts like mini turrets. Took out three Buzzards with this assault rifle I have now. Rockets are a must for every class. There are just some enemies that should be taken out with a rocket or two, like Buzzards and some shielded enemies (or a Badass Mutant Varkid).

I actually didn't get to hear that log. I started to listen to it but then my asshole teammate brought up a mission and it canceled the audio.

Basically

Axton was a glory-hog attention seeker who only did shit if it looked cool and he was about to be shot down for treason in a mission until his then wife and commanding officer told him beforehand so he could escape. She also basically ended the marriage by giving him back the wedding ring. I don't know yet what happened to her later on but he wears her dog tags so she probably died

Yeah, I'm slowly feeling myself drawn towards melee with Zer0, so I may respec when I reach a higher level. If I can find a decent mod to reduce the cooldown of Deception it may be more workable early on.

Felt like a total badass when there were three guys lined up during one bit. I activated Deception, one-hit meleed the first, no-scoped the second in the face and then one-hit meleed the third in the face (IN THE FACE!)

Also, played with a friend (who chose Axton) yesterday and, amazingly, I didn't die once. Sure, there were some hairy situations and Deception acted like a panic button but I think I've got a decent setup at least.

I honestly wish we could make our own color scheme like in the first game. Sure there are 88 skins, but the best ones typically have a pattern or effect to them. I really like the colors of the Pandora Legend skin, but I don't care for the Gearbox logo on my helmet.

I seriously want to find the 3gn13 helmet for Zer0 as the only ones I have and like are Punk and his default "Zero."
