SixTwoSixFour
Hey, gents (and the occasional lady). So, I really don't know how to go about starting this- the intro is gonna be clumsy no matter what I do, because I'm delightfully socially awkward. I'm writing to say thank you. When I was in the hospital, and things were looking bad, I was not feeling especially cheerful. I tried to keep my spirits up, but the news from the doctors was not good, and I had been in that bed for long enough that I was feeling pretty down. I'd been using my laptop pretty sparingly, but after a span, I turned to using it a little more for entertainment. And naturally, I came here, to PXoD. That's when I saw the SixTwoSixFour Fund. I had come to the forum earlier for the purpose of letting people know what was up- I'm pretty close with a lot of you guys, and I wanted you all to know why I had just disappeared... and wouldn't be around a lot. I hadn't expected much to come of it, just to reassure some close friends. So when I saw that you guys were doing a donation drive for me... well, I just started crying. Gawd, I'm starting to tear up remembering it. My memory is too vivid. More than just the gift (though the gift is so incredibly nice of you guys that I don't know what to say), it's the thought and the gesture that made me cry that night. People who aren't as tech savvy talk about how internet friends can't really be as close to you as IRL friends, that they can't be as considerate or as steadfast. Well, I say bullshit. In a time where I was kinda messed up... you guys were absolutely there, and I won't forget that. Thank you. Thank you for your kindness, thank you for your thoughts, thank you for caring and supporting in a dark time. I'm well on the road to recovery, my kidneys are out of commission but I'm getting around that with the power of medicine. Thank you for thinking of me... and thank you, of course, for the wonderful gift. I don't know who all donated- I know some of you- but to everyone who donated, and more than that, everyone who makes up this community that I love, thank you.
