TheFlyingGerbil
Nintendo is going to help publishers revive old games for the 3DS to help keep up a steady stream of third party titles. Good for some old games to get another chance and good to see Nintendo working with third parties and also trying some new ideas. Possibly first for this treatment is Seaman for Dreamcast. So they're not going down the obvious route. I always wanted to play this game, I only had access to someone else's dreamcast not my own so all I got to play was Soul Caliber 2, Crazy Taxi and powerstone (though that is a pretty awesome selection!) Anyway, what games would you like to see revived under this scheme? Think this is a good idea?
Strangelove
Im sure their prices are going to be insanely high. They still sell NES games for $5 or more. Im sorry, but thats too much for me. I bought Trine off PSN for $5.
FMW
Okay! This seems like a cool idea. Seaman is a really strange choice, but not necessarily a bad one. I'm curious. I'm glad to hear it's coming. As for speculation... well! You can bet that Nintendo will mostly be working with Japanese developers. For an IP to be dead, lets say that it can't have had any releases since the PS1/N64 technologies. I guess Dreamcast too. I can see Nights from Sega getting picked. It was a dead property until it turned up on the Wii. It's an IP that would appeal to the Nintendo demographic, it could make really good use of 3D, and Sega has been cooperating with Nintendo swimmingly lately. Maybe I'm reaching too far here, but do you think Nintendo might jump in and help with Mega Man Legends 3? Mega Man Legends has been gone for quite a while, Capcom already has some of the work done on it, and Mega Man is a recognizable mascot character. I'm trying to think of a Nintendo/Square-Enix combination project... Square Enix has kept up with most of their IP. Maybe a Mana game? Or no! I'll betcha Nintendo approaches Square-Enix about making a new Final Fantasy Legends game. That's totally up Nintendo's alley. It'll be a kid friendly, my first JRPG type of adventure. Konami... has no old IP worth resurrecting. I don't see Nintendo backing a Contra 5 (Contra 4 was on the DS), and Castlevania is still seeing new releases (though I'M STILL WAITING for it to come to 3DS). Back to Capcom... could you see either Darkstalkers for Power Stone happening? Both of those have been out of production for a while (remakes excluded).
