WTF
I know we already have a vita thread to just discuss the vita in general but I felt it'd be nice to have a thread where those who have a vita already could just maybe add each other (I know the PSN thread exists), work on asynchronous gaming and things like that.HSG has lobbies and it's easier when two people are on the FL and can arrange for games and things like that.Plus it's also easier to know what version each person has got/is getting this week and the games we're all getting in the first 30 days.I'll start since I started this thread:Vita 3GI've currently got retail releases of:Lumines Electronic SymphonyVirtua Tennis 4: World Tour EditionUncharted Golden Abyss (arrives tomorrow)DigitalWipeout 2048Motorstorm RCEscape PlanFrobisher SaysI'm pondering about Super Stardust or About a Blob (any recommendations)I'll also be getting Ninja Gaiden Sigma, Everybody's Golf, Blazblue, Dynasty Warriors and maybe double dip on Rayman within the next 30 days or so.So what have you guys got this week or are waiting for.We could setup Wipeout, Virtua Tennis and HSG/Everybody's Golf lobbies (will need to wait a month on this title for me guys ) and can also have crossplay wipeout with those on PSN too.Plus unlike the 3DS launch I know there's at least 4 of us getting it this time so this way this thread could just be about launch, what we got, arranging games/matches and things like that rather than just discussing the fate of the vita and stuff which is what the main thread would be ideal for. TCP
As I've been bragging about for awhile now, I got a wireless Vita. Games (all digital): Uncharted ModNation Racers Super Stardust Delta Escape Plan Lumines If any of you aren't already PSN Friends, feel free to add me, even if it's just to see what I'm playing, compare trophies, send me rude messages, etc. The_Cowboy_Poet. WTF
Oh FYI I'm not sure if everyone here knows but a lot of demos are region free and you don't need to swap memory cards to switch accounts. The whole process takes about 3 minutes but you will lose your settings. I've downloaded demos for ragnarok odyssey and gravity rush(the eng demo is on the HK or SG store) and works on my PAL account. Basically if you're interested the whole process can be described as such. Head to settings, format. It will try to deauthorise you so that you don't lose out on your activation and then reset to factory settings. At one point it will ask you if you wish to format your memory card. If you choose No you get to keep everything on it and then when it reboots you're back to the startup. The unfortunate thing is you can't skip the starting video that shows you the features and whatnot but after that you're free to setup the other region account. This is kind of handy for demos and things like that which aren't released in your region. Unlike what was said earlier if you would like to have multiple profiles you do not need more than one memory card but you will need to reset the system and the whole process takes roughly about 3-5 minutes and is quite painless. I've already done it 6 times today just to get demos and then test them out. Mind you if you are transferring your files from the PS3 then the two syncing accounts need to be the same. PS. I don't think I've added you but I'll do so now. I fear that as soon as my wife sees Lumines it's going to be a few hours before I get it back. edit: and make sure you use the panels, they've given us so many panels to choose from. It's just nice. I'm sure we'll find paid panels in the future but it's nice to have these. They won't show up on the PS3 though. Mister Jack
I got a wi-fi Vita with a 16GB memory card and Uncharted. I was originally gonna get a 32GB but the digital price difference for vita games was negligible and I managed to get Uncharted for 35 dollars as a physical copy anyway. It's linked to my PSN profile on my ps3 so it's the same friendlist.
SixTwoSixFour
I've got the wifi model and a 16 gig card, thanks to the charity of this forum. I've got Lumines and Hot Shots Golf. My PSN id is just to the left of this post, so feel free to add me.
DaveStrife
I've got the WiFi model, 8GB card, Rayman Origins, Wipeout 2048 and BlazBlue: Continuum Shift Extend. PSN ID is to the left if you want to add me.
Shibbs
I have a WiFi version, 32gb card and Wipeout 2048. Add me if you wanna throw down some time lol.
WTF
I'll add you guys soon enough, it's on charge for now . Currently it's a bit odd that I've found about 26 people with Vitas in a 1.5km radius from where I live; some of them have been adding me. That's quite interesting for my area of London. Connorrrr
I haven't laid my hands on it yet as I had it delivered to my parents place, but I did indeed decide to order one. All in all I got: Wifi model Vita 16gb Mem Card Uncharted Rayman Origins UMVC 3. Wanna pick up Escape room online when I get to it, and also might get Persona 3 Portable for old times sake. Shibbs
K, so I've now also bought super stardust delta, UMvC3 and Blaz Blue.
Skoshuke
I'm rockin' a WiFi Vita with a 4GB stick (cheapo!). I've currently got Touch My Katamari and Frobisher Says! I was kinda forced into getting Little Deviants, as it was part of a bundle here. Looking to get Escape plan ASAP, and I might get UMvC3 at some point. If anyone can point me at some must-have PSP games, that'd be cool! For those who haven't added me, I'm Skoshuke1
TCP
Skoshuke, the PSP has a really good library, that's pretty diverse. If you like the J-RPGs, there's tons of Square Enix games, especially, as I always mention Dissidia 012 (steep learning curve but worth getting into). The Persona games are great too but be prepared to $$$$.
WTF
So I've added all you guys right now. Hmm I was actually going with Blazblue since it has a good SP mode as opposed to UmVC3 which I own already on the PS3 but if we're up for matches then I'd go with that first and then Blazblue. I'll be getting HSG in 2-3 weeks. Dynasty Warriors should be with me next week and Blazblue/UMVC3 probably next week. As for PSP games - depends on your tastes. The better SE games such as crisis core and birth by sleep are not available in the store but you can get Atlus's Persona 1-3 on it. There's also TiTS and the Ys games which are good. I'd recommend Vice City Stories, Megaman Maverick Hunter amongst others. Edit: Gravity Rush demo is up on the HK/SG store. You'll need to download it via one of those accounts (need to do a switch, keeps all data but you lose your settings if you opt not to format the mem card) but it will work on any region account after it's been transferred. http://vita-wallpapers.com/ http://freevitathemes.com/ Some sites with some decent themes. Shibbs
Warning: UMvC3 is a quick port, i.e. looks like a dumbed down mobile phone game version of umvc3. My main point being, a lot of the graphics are snapshot and made into flat images(i.e. the hit effects and move effects).
Johnny
Of course it has simplified graphics. The vita can't output the same kind of stuff a stationary console can.
WTF
I'm aware UMVC3 is ported down but the effects don't look that bad to be honest. It looks pretty decent for a handheld. Blazblue technically looks slightly better but it's better to get a game that most have rather than one with fewer players initially. Shibbs
Well I think a few of us have Blaz Blue so there's people to play with. A weird thing happened though, bought Super Stardust Delta $14.99, Blaz Blue $34.99 and UMvC3 $39.99, had the pending charges for each. But now I was only charged $8.98. Kinda wondering what happened.
WTF
Well I'll get one of them in the next few weeks. I'm trying to limit my spending for this week since I need to buy a lot of shit for the house and need to decide if I want to wait for SF vs Tekken for the Vita or just get it on the PS3 and get the vita version down the line. Honestly I loved UMVC3 on the PS3 and know I'll like BBCSExtend on the vita so it's a matter of which has more people to play with when/if I feel like. Currently I'm somewhat annoyed that my fastest times on wipeout aren't uploading to the server despite the thing saying yeah my local fastest time is such and such. WTF
@Shibbs, you just got refunded . Thing is apparently a lot of people were wrongly charged sales tax between some point in 2010 to early 2011 and they've been refunding all those people that money back. So for those who haven't checked and US PSN/SEN accounts you'll find some amount of cash waiting for you or will find some waiting for you I believe. No it seems it's just doing this with psn vita charges on my card, pending, disappearing for a day, and then showing up in my cleared activity. pretty annoying. Have to remember when I buy things on the Vita store so I don't overdraft on the day it disappears.
Chronixal
I've got the wifi model, an 8 and 16gb sticks, Wipeout 2048, Virtua Tennis 4 and Escape Plan so far. Wipeout is excellent, as expected. VT4 was only bought as part of a bundle and so far Escape Plan has been a bit of a disappointment. Will prob pick up SSDD in the near future. Feel free to add. WTF
So you guys in NA should get Motorstorm RC for the vita while it's still FREE. It was worth the low price I paid for it here and it's definitely more than worth free. Thank the promoters for the giveaway .
