It was free, so didn't technically buy it. I haven't had a Lego set since I was a child so I quite enjoyed it.

I guess being mostly flat it's less like making a traditional Lego set but I wouldn't want one of those taking up space and this looks nice from across the room. May try make my own pattern in the future of a peacock inspired by an embroidery my Mum did many years ago that I love.

It's a great phone. The camera is kind of mindblowing.

If you do get a screen protector, you might want to get a non-glass one (the Samsung one is apparently okay). Those curved edges are killer on the screen protector. Though maybe if you get the kind that cures under a UV light they'll work out better. As for camera lens protectors, they tend to get in the way of any cases you get so eh...

Finally used all the D'Addario strings I had, so it was time to go back to ol' reliable lol. :P

D'Addario XLs ended up being a disappointment, two strings snapped when changing them, they rusted super quickly, and couldn't stay in tune for more than a couple of days. These are already a huge improvement, installed them last Friday and they're still in tune. :P

So earlier this week I found out that this came out back in August. Needless to say, I needed a copy and it got here today.

No idea if it's supposed to be any good but I'm enjoying the hell out of my new playthrough of the game, so I'm down for anything Cyberpunk right now. I've actually been thinking of giving Edgerunners a rewatch, too.

There's also some comic books that I've been considering getting for a while. So I also pre-ordered the collected edition that comes out next month.

tado° Wireless Smart Thermostat Starter Kit V3+ Incl. Stand – Full Control Over Your Boiler And

A tado starter kit. I've been having issues with my "dumb" thermostat and particularly an issue with my brother staying on thursday evenings if the boiler heating can't kick in (and it's not particularly intuitive to turn it on). Thankfully it's not an issue with the boiler itself - I still get hot tap water and when the thermostat does properly send its signal it fires up and heats the house.

Wasn't too difficult to install - the internet bridge is just USB power and ethernet port, the thermostat unit itself is just "pull tab out batteries and connect via the app". The unit that connects to the boiler is a tad more of a pain but the app was pretty good - you put the model of your boiler in and it gave you customised instructions to your boiler on how to connect the receiver up. Really the only major issue was angling screwdrivers and that I had a hangover.
Got to wall mount it but it's a Sunday and I'm not an a-hole so that'll be a job for later.

(I am aware that NA/EU heating styles are potentially very different)

I know enough to get by. My main stuff is building shelves and painting; which aren't the most difficult. Had to do a bit of wiring when I moved in to change out lamps and swap out a couple switches (also tried to put in a smart switch but turn out victorian era houses don't have the right layout of mains wiring for those).

The college I work at actually has been running a DIY night class and I was in the first cohort so technically I'm actually qualified in basic DIY skills.
Boilers however are a fun mix of gas, water, and electricity so was a bit hair raising (though given it makes severals steps of "turn off and use a tester to check it's off" I knew it was dead while I was working on it).

Not my image but a good indication of the steps it takes through (there's a neat sticker set in that they'll get you to sticker up the various wires too so it makes stages like this quite simple)

This is, apart from a pen and (in my case) a mirror, is pretty much all the tools you needed. Mirror was just because my boiler is a corner and I couldn't always see. I'd normally use my phone but that was running the app. Pen was to write on the stickers.

I got the elite strap for the Quest 2. I considered getting the one with the expanded battery but it was more than I wanted to spend, and I think I made the right choice cause even with the more comfortable strap I don't think I'd want to wear the headset for more than 2 hours.

I've been considering upgrading for months now but today I realized I couldn't put it off any longer. My phone's been acting kinda weird lately. It would randomly decide to repush all my email notifications of the past week all at once. Sometimes I get them super late (got all my ubereats order updates hours after I'd already gotten my food tonight) and yesterday it completely died on me for the first time in a while. And today I'm realizing it can't hold a charge for shit anymore. So yeah, I'm getting the sense that it's starting to die very suddenly so I better get a new one while I'm still able to transfer my stuff.

Also got a clear case cause I'm not gonna buy a blue phone and then cover it up in black plastic.

Oh and true story: I was wondering why I couldn't find this thread even going back four or five pages. Then I realized that you need to tick the boxes for which subforums you want to show up in fluid mode.... Turns out I only had General Gaming Chat selected all these years. Maybe the forum will feel a little more active now... 🤦‍♂️

Oh phone wise I upgraded from a Oneplus 7, which was starting to wear down, to a OnePlus 12

Came with a walnut-style case but I very early moved to the above clear case with a little dino on the back just cos the actual back is so beautiful it felt silly to put in such a cheap wood effect (did have the Moto Style back in the day with an actual wood back. Loved that phone)

Otherwise it's a phone, not much to write about, though the battery life is fantastic. Easy does 2 days with no bother. Nice to be wireless as well; the USB port was starting to go on my old phone (and it was 4 years old so it'd been a trooper - that's like 1,300 inserts minimum), so being wireless should mean the port will last a bit longer. Though sucks that it's only kinda slow on non-Oneplus pads.

Oooh, pro, nice, I went for the 6 regular back in the day. It's served well up to now. Reckon I'll be looking to upgrade to the 9 or more likely 10.

I've had the 1, 3 XL, and 6 Pro (current one), and loved them all.

First impression is very good, yeah. Really happy with the purchase. Especially the bigger screen. I always hated browsing the web on my phone because of how claustrophobic it feels. But on this one, not only is there more room, the text is also smaller. It almost feels like when I got my first 1080p monitor lol.

On the other hand, yesterday I realized it doesn't have an audio jack. I mean, more like i remembered. I knew that phones don't really have them anymore and I'd been wanting to get some wireless buds for a while now. I just didn't really think about it when I ordered the phone.

So my Shure earbuds are kinda useless now. It's not that big of a deal since the wire's been kinda finicky for a while (main reason I'd been wanting to upgrade to wireless ones) but yeah, another thing to buy...

Any of you guys try the Pixel Buds Pro? I'm tempted by them since they'll probably work best with the phone in general but wondering if I should just go for more of an audiophile model like I'd usually do.
