MasterDex
I've been wanting a new headset for a while now...I think I may have mentioned it here before. Anyway, I finally got around to getting one and my choice was....(drumroll)... Excel also ordered a headset at the same time. He chose the Siberia V2: Edited April 12, 2012 by MasterDex
Mal
Maps. Maps. MAPS. Yeah, IDK either why I did this. $1 each.
MasterDex
Sure why not! You'll always be able to find your way home! Headsets arrived last Thursday. I like mine, the surround is good, it's comfortable and it's loud. The mic has also been reported as being "very clear and rich". The downsides are that it can be a bit fiddly to get the right speaker levels, there's no sound proofing so sound from the speakers goes outside and the smaller speakers means that individually, they're not as powerful and the sound quality at high volumes suffers as a result. Overall, I'm happy with it....don't know if I'm cost price happy though... As far as I know, Excel is happy with his. It has good speakers in it for sure. Popular Post TheMightyEthan
A deck of Legend of Zelda playing cards, from Fangamer.
CorgiShinobi
Awesome! Fangamer has some really great stuff, and it's where Kari Fry had her "Serious Time" t-shirt at first. You get a little card with some drawn art on it; mine was an 8-bit Donkey Kong. Last night I pulled out my old deck of cards and played some games with my roomie's girlfriend. I've had them for about seven years and it's a standard deck, but they have that great "worn" feel to them. That LoZ deck though, it's a league above anything Nintendo might do, which is usually character concepts/renders any fan has seen multiple times. P4: Gritty Reboot
Bought a few flicks. Sampling Clone Wars for my son... seems he's still too young for some of the scary stuff/violence from the first episode. Ah well. I'm enjoying it anyway. Mal
Very rarely do I buy DVDs/Blu Rays but this is worth the money to show support. I also do subscribe to HBO with my roommates but with no time to watch and no DVR... I pay the Iron Price and take what is mines.

Battra92
Pretty much this is all I buy anymore. I'd let you use my BJ's Wholesale Club membership if you were closer. You can buy diapers by the Metric ton there. @_@ A friend of my wife went the cloth route with her kid and my wife wants to do the same when we finally have brats. Anyway, I've been busy ... I wanted just the shears but it was cheaper to get them in green with a free paring knife. That will be good for slicing roast beasts up. and because my current Chef's knife is always covered in meat juice when I want to slice veggies or being used to slice veggies when I want to cut chickens in half, I got me one of these:

CorgiShinobi
I don't know, and I'll admit, it's always odd to look at him on that cover. It's like whoever drew the cover knew fangirls would gingerly put their hand on the book and whisper, "Take me away, Last Airbender." Battra92
Bought some furniture for the house. We got two of these: We plan on staining them and painting the drawer fronts, most likely. I also picked up this at a Flea Market today. Not sure what I'll do with it but it's pretty rad!
Luftwaffles
We plan on staining them and painting the drawer fronts, most likely. Eeeew. I'd just stain + varnish them myself. I think paint on stuff like that looks crappy.

deanb
That pan looks neat. I used to have only one frying pan, and trying to do a fry-up with just one frying pan means a combo of having a plat warming in the oven below so you can put stuff on as n when it's ready, or cooking your eggs n mushrooms n shit together, and eggs don't like sharing. I'm not sure how much I'll use it but cast iron is fantastic stuff. I already have a good half dozen pieces already (not counting the enameled stuff) I'm not really a "green" person per se but I do believe in buying things that last and not replacing them every year or so (saves me some green as we say in the US ) and the pan I bought apparently dates back to the 40s. If you take care of cast iron and season it properly and don't feed it after midnight, you can pass it down to your kids and grandkids. TheMightyEthan
Yeah, I don't understand why people buy stuff that's maybe 20% cheaper but you have to replace 5 times as often. That is just not good money management.

Battra92
Yeah, buy cheap pay twice. It's what's called false economy and people not surprisingly do it all the time. We opt for cheap building supplies, cooking tools, cars, disposable pens, overpriced disposable or cartridge razors etc.

Battra92
what's the most cost effective way to shave? Either one of these: or if that's too scary sharp, one of these: I have a beard now so I don't really use either.
TheMightyEthan
I use a cartridge razor, but instead of switching out the blades whenever it is the manufacturer recommends I just switch out the blades when they stop working. Which is a long, long time.
