Hot Heart
That's fair enough. I live in the UK so shipping was even more but they were 25 or 30% off at the time, a friend was getting stuff as well, and I figured it's not something you can get just anywhere (eBay excepted, I guess). TheMightyEthan
Okay, they've definitely gotten cheaper. When I looked last they were about $80 plus $15 shipping, now they're $48 with $9 shipping. On that note:

P4: Gritty Reboot
Bought this for $8. Based on the title, tagline, and cover, I'm going to make a wild guess that Ripley is resurrected in this film. Shot in the dark here. Also bought season 6 of Seinfeld for $12. CorgiShinobi
Oh yeah, totally got Part Two yesterday. I was surprised how much time was spent on Toph's Metalbending Academy, and a little perturbed at how Zuko put too much trust in his father's words. Ozai was a terrible leader, thinking only of himself. Even if Iroh wasn't a Fire Lord, you'd think Zuko would have been like, "I'll humor you father, for mother's sake, but your brother would have been the better Fire Lord." TheMightyEthan
We don't have any stores in town that carry them so I had to order them from Amazon so haven't had a chance to read the second one (read the first one a few months ago). TheRevanchist
Starting the sentence with "omg" let's me know you are kidding, but you and my eldest share a name. I guess you can call me 'daddy', but that would just be wierd for both of us. I have yet to see if Legos will actually stick to it. I've been curious, but he won't take them off for me to check. Mal
I didn't exactly buy them since you could order these from the NRCS website for free. The Key to Soil Taxonomy is a book I will need for a class in the fall which oddly is sold in on campus in a crappy printed edition. That book is the up-to-date version (2011) of the red book (1999) which still has the bulk of the stuff still in use. I only needed the small book but I got the red one just because. The book to the right is just what it is called. It gives a pretty good rundown of what is happening across the US (Like soil types) but of course you'll need to dig up more localized information. I think it'll come in use if I need to research anything. Posters are just posters. SOIL SCIENCE. FUCK YEAH!
madbassman39
I had to take a soils engineering class in college as part of my Construction Engineering Management major. Interesting stuff. I was surprised how much engineering goes into soils, not as much about making soil, but determining what soil is good for what, such as how much water it retains, how much is compacts, what the expansion rate is. Battra92
So is the edition printed badly or is it crappy because it's in print form?
TheMightyEthan
It looks like it's just printed and bound Kinkos-style, so I'm guessing he means it's printed crappily.
TheFlyingGerbil
I went a bit mental on the 2 for £10 download offer on Amazon: I think I may have got the next two for free. I got a message from my credit card company asking if my recent transactions were genuine. I said yes and didn't think any more and I ordered and downloaded them. Then I got an email from Amazon saying my payment hadn't been confirmed and they were cancelling my order. I'm not entirely sure what to do. I'm not ordering them again as I don't want to end up paying twice, plus I don't even know if my card will go through. So at the moment I have them for free and am probably not going to do anything unless Amazon pursue it. Only problem now is I want to buy the new Hot Chip album, and while I kinda want to do it in the hope I end up with another free album I don't want to end up in a mess with my credit card company. I suppose I should be grateful they're trying to protect me from fraud but so far I've had more hassle from fraud prevention than fraud itself. TheFlyingGerbil
I couldn't add this to my last post as it was too many pictures. I ended up using a different card as I didn't want to push my luck. I think the universe is trying to tell me that's enough for one day:

Mal
So is the edition printed badly or is it crappy because it's in print form? Black and white through a regular printer with regular paper.
Battra92
So is the edition printed badly or is it crappy because it's in print form? Black and white through a regular printer with regular paper. Yeah I hated getting textbooks like that. I liked the professors who assigned cheap used books (one prof had us all order them from Amazon for $5 each because he hated the school encouraging him to assign expensive books so the bookstore could make money.) Oh and I got one of these: I figure, new kitchen it's probably about time I gave up on eating Teflon.
TheMightyEthan
I had one class with a textbook that wasn't even bound at all, we had to buy a 3-ring notebook to put it in, but I was okay with it because it meant it only cost us $5 at the university print shop. Battra92
Yeah that I could deal with. It was the $150 textbooks that we never used that would piss me off.
