Mal
The watch is smaller than I thought it would be but that is okay. I could get rid of the large pale strip of skin on my wrist. Anyways... For the office. I actually got inspired by FLD's HD 280-Pro purchase a while back. Anyways... So I finally got to compare two different tiers of headphones from Sennheiser. HD 439 (new @ $70 after tax) and HD 555 (3 years old @ $110, before the Amazon tax was in place. God I miss not being taxed so much). The HD 555 definitely beats the HD 439 in build quality and comfort. Earpad is larger. It is also louder at the same volume level. This makes it hard to judge sound leakage for say an office environment but I think the HD 439 wins since I think the HD 555 has an open back, at least more open than the HD 439 (My main deciding factor). The HD 439 is for sure better for mobile use due to it being lighter and not as bulky. Also it has swappable cords so you can have the length that you need. The earpad works and will cover your ears with fine adjustment. More bassy. It's rather interesting comparing them. Only thing I worry about is that the HD 439 will break by the time I get done with graduate school. We'll see but I'm just so used to the HD 555. The HD 555 is a tank. Eventually I think I might get a HD 280-Pro (About $110 after tax on Amazon) just for shit and giggles. I'm super curious on how it will compare to two I have. I'm also curious enough to return the HD 439 to see... the HD 280 can be repaired and modded so easily.
TheMightyEthan
My phone's SD card crapped out on me (luckily it was screwing up yesterday so I backed it up and reformatted it to try to fix it, so I haven't lost much data). TheMightyEthan
I mean size, is it one of them new fangled UHD TVs, etc.
TCP
Nah just an LED 55 inch, but it was on sale. I clearly wasn't even expecting to buy anything, we were driving Sarah's Hyundai and the TV wouldn't fit, we had to call my dad to come up with his pickup truck. But it's a big improvement over my old 40 inch Samsung, which is now in the bedroom and waiting for the PlayStation TV. Plus I can Netflix and playback video files directly on the new TV which means I can finally unplug my old PS3 ...once I emotionally prepare myself (and finish Walking Dead/Wolf Among Us). Mal
My mice finally died so I finally have an excuse to buy a better mouse. I'm currently using my roommate's spare mouse and I think it confirms my suspicions that my old mouse was really the cause of it stopping and going. I always had a doubt about that and it made me question my tower as a whole (Think PSU problems -shudder-). Anyhow, multi-button master race? I actually cancelled an order of a flightstick for this...
Vecha
Got a new monitor...because LG decided to be like, "bzzzt....KABOOM" with one of its circuits...or capicitors...or something. Damn thing would come on for a second or two...with some weird whining noise(like it was just too much for me to ask it to display some porn today) and then shut off(while still acting as if it was on). Soooo. Got a cheap(99$...but usually goes for 140~ everywhere else. Thanks Best Buy!) AOC monitor. Never heard of them before. They have a 3 year warranty...so, if something breaks. I'll call them up...and if they act like little bitches, I'll just go get a better one later on.20 million, guys. 20 MILLLLLIIIIOOOONNNN! Heard that actually doesn't matter much...and that manufacturers fuck around with those numbers all the time. Love it thus far. Brighter, prettier, and bigger than my 5 year old LG monitor. So, pretty happy I snagged it for 100 bucks(just hope it lasts...).
TheMightyEthan
Yeah, usually the contrast ratio displayed is the full dynamic one (the brightest it can possibly display versus the dimmest), and the real ratio of what it can display at the same time is more like 3M:1.
deanb
Closer to 10,000:1 if that. Dynamic Ratio is stupid as shit, one of the more pointless stats. Ideally for stuff like that you want to look at proper reviews which'll test out various gradients and scenes and show the comparison between monitors, and if you get banding and such. Some panels can even end up with different contrast across the display, with corners being noticeably brighter if there's a bleed. Main thing if you're a gamer to look at really is the size, resolution, budget, ports and response time. Most other stuff is more import to designers and the like, games tend to let you twiddle settings on a per-game basis.
deanb
I bought a Tab Pro 8.4.....and after figuring it was just the Samsung Keyboard and I'm like "well that'll go once I'm signed into Play Store"...well turns out it wasn't a keyboard glitch randomly pressing buttons, the entire screen is fucked. We watched it on the coffee table just scrolling through my apps, taking screenshots, opening the web, all without anyone near it. So I guess I need to return it after work. Saturnine Tenshi
Bought a Surface Pro 2 for the wife for design stuff. It's pretty neat.
TheFlyingGerbil
I bought some House of Marley earphones. They were cheap and half price too. They're supposed to be just above average sounding, good for the price and the fabric cable is hopefully durable and less likely to tangle. My last two pairs were fairly expensive but also fairly uncomfortable so I didn't want to spend too much again. I don't think I've ever had a pair of comfortable earphones before, but I just don't want to deal with the amount of space a pair of headphones takes up. They were buy one get one free, and via a cashback site there was offer of the DVD value back so I got both the blu rays for £2. Saturnine Tenshi
Haha. Early Christmas presents. I've been running on this 460 since it released. Been waiting for The Witcher 3 to release to upgrade my card.
Popular Post madbassman39
I get it in roughly a month, just put the order in! I don't think I have been more excited to walk out of a dealership than I was today. When I drive off the lot with it, I'll probably be more excited.

Hot Heart
I went a bit mad with the BioWare store sale the other day, but then a friend was getting some items too, which split some of the shipping at least. Also, they're sublimated, oooooooh! Then there was a deal on some Assassin's Creed style hoodies that my friend wanted, so I figured it was worth a punt for the price.
