TheFlyingGerbil
It's £10.99 new on Amazon at the moment so I couldn't pass that up.
TCP
There's a very weird comic at the end with shirtless Link. It's mildly disturbing.

deanb
Local geek cafe/store/hang-out place had this propped up on one of their shelves. Saw it last week and figured I'd get it when my pay came in, so picked it up when I was over again yesterday. Very nice inside, lot of character model sheets, concept art etc. Has a foreword by M Night Shyamalan though.
Mister Jack
Ebay sent me a 25 dollar coupon so I decided to use it on that hair trimmer Ethan recommended. Ethan, if this thing ruins my head I'm holding you responsible.
TheMightyEthan
That looks almost identical to the one I had, which I really liked.
Mister Jack
You were right about those Wahl trimmers, Ethan. I got it in the mail today (which was suprisingly fast) and just finished using it. Shaving the back of my head was kind of a bitch since I have nobody to help me out with that but the trimmer itself performed great. I didn't cut or even nick myself a single time while I was using it, and this is the first time I've ever cut my own hair. Best five dollars I ever spent. Mal
It should be known that I am a die hard Takehito Harada fan (I should really hunt down all his kipple artbooks). His style greatly influenced my own. Now, for the actual product, it's great but I have no idea why they went with a different form factor from the previous two volumes. I should really get D2. TheMightyEthan
I am now the proud owner of this monstrosity: a 55-inch LG UB8500 4k 3DTV. Four days ago a line of green sub-pixels on my current TV died, and while it wasn't unwatchable (and wasn't even always noticeable, depending on what color was being shown) it put me in the market for a replacement. I did a bunch of research, picked out the features I wanted and a price range I was comfortable with, and based on the prices I'd seen I figured it would be several months at least before I could get a replacement. Then this morning this one goes on sale at Dell's website for significantly less than my price max. I am happy.
Faiblesse Des Sens
What do you think of webOS so far? It looks pretty good as far as Smart TV UIs go.
TheMightyEthan
Well the TV won't actually get here until Thursday but from the videos I've seen it looks pretty slick. Way better than my current TV's interface.
TheFlyingGerbil
Have you got any way to get 4K content on the TV, TME? From what I've read webOS is by far the best smart TV interface. I'm itching to upgrade my TV, but since there's nothing wrong with mine I'd need a seriously good offer to justify the money and I'd like the 4K specs to settle down a bit first. Anyway, the reason I'm here. The super automatic coffee machine I bought last year was nothing but hassles and disappointment. I've gone in the opposite direction now - manual lever machines have very little to go wrong except the person operating them. On the left you can also see an aeropress and hand grinder I bought. They should help me to see what I'm aiming at with my coffee, and currently missing by a mile. The good thing about this though is I know I can improve things. With the automatic, what I got was what I got.
TheMightyEthan
Have you got any way to get 4K content on the TV, TME? Just the onboard Netflix app. The 4k part is more for future proofing, I don't want to spend a bunch of money on a TV only to have it be obsolete in two years. deanb
You bought a coffee maker? I've always thought of it as a somewhat american thing. You'd have to be pretty into coffee, or have a decent sized kitchen, to dedicate space alongside a kettle (let alone two, as seems to be your case). Mal
That's no coffee maker, no coffee maker! Typically when you say coffee maker, it is referring to a drip coffee maker. What Gerbil got there on the left is an espresso machine. Totally different! No coffee maker can make an espresso. Gerbil's Aeropress can or cannot make an espresso. It just depends on who you talk to. Either way, he covered his bases for regular coffee and espresso. At first I was perplexed on why Gerbil got a manual grinder as well but it does allow him the freedom to change the ground size easily compared to the automatic grinder on the right of the platform. Everything on the platform is dedicated to make espresso, including the beans (e.g., roast level). The Aeropress/manual grinder combo can do what Gerbil wants without compromising the platform setup. And that children is why caffeine is a terrible drug. Arguably worse than THC in pot.
TheFlyingGerbil
The main/only place espresso machines are somewhat common is Italy. I would guess a lot of American households have filter/drip machines, but they're only the equivalent of a kettle and teabags here, i.e. just the base level of hot drink making and not really signifying you're "into" coffee. The espresso machine I bought and the grinder to its right are both similar size to kettles so don't take up too much room and the aeropress is the size of a kitchen roll tube and the hand grinder fits inside. That will sit in a cupboard out of site once I've finished playing with it. I'll mostly use that when I get a new bag of beans (to see what the flavour I'm aiming at with my espresso machine) and when I'm out of the house. TheFlyingGerbil
Oh, I didn't see MalH's post when I started mine. Basically what he said. @MalH: The beans aren't as dark as they look in the picture, but you're right about them being on the darker end of where most decent roasters will go but they were highly recommended as being a forgiving bean and as it seems you will know, someone new to lever machines needs a forgiving bean. Definitely struggling with consistency so far so I'd be wasting my time with a more complex bean at the moment. Hoping to get there, though I know some people just never get on with a lever machine. The porlex (hand) grinder is so I can use the aeropress when I'm away from home, and as you correctly guessed, so I don't have to meddle with the mignon (electric one) as the design's not really suitable for hopping between espresso and brew grinds. TBH, I'm not loving the mignon, but after a lot of reading up all I realised was most manufacturers have not started making concessions to the home market yet so any decent one is bloody massive and needs varying levels of modding to make them suitable for home rather than commercial use. Started reading round in circles and not getting anywhere so when I saw this as an open box bargain I jumped as it was so cheap I'll actually be able to sell it on at a profit when I can face looking into them again. TheMightyEthan
Actually neither my PS4 nor Xbone will be connected to that TV most of the time, they're connected to a 1080p monitor in the other room.
