Minus the bag aspect of it. It's for camping. I have a two week thing next month so I'll need some juice for me phone and laptop. And yes, it's a geology related trip (I'm a TA) so I need to read up on some papers and what have me. It should pull 13 watts in which can go into two devices at once. So say my camping lamp, mobile battery pack and my actual electronics.

As with most camping stuff, it can also be used in an emergency which around here is an earthquake.

Where I'm going, there is little to no shade. Depending on temperature, daily mapping will have to stop by 2 PM instead of the usual 4:30-6:00 PM. Start early, end early. It'll be windy as hell too but my tent without the rainfly is just like a fishnet. Wind just goes right through it though, maybe I'll get a cot. Stay tune for more camping related purchases. I expect an used boot sale in the coming weeks since carbonates/limestone are really terrible on boots.

I've been here long enough to know that this probably isn't the right lace to ask, but I kind of forgot where to post a question like this:

What PC mic/headset do you all recommend with-in the $50-$100 dollar range? I would like one with surround sound (not required) comfortable on the ears and head (I have smaller ears which means that the headband usually feels a bit tight on the top of my head) and finally a longer cable, my computer is next to my tv so I would like more than your standard 3' cables if possible.

Probably a better place would be PCs for Dummies. I'd move it but I'm on my phone.

To answer your question, I have some Earforce X11s that I really like. They're not surround, but you can get Earforces that are. And the cord on them is like 15 feet or something ridiculous like that.

I have a free ipad mini 2 wending it's way to me as we speak. I did always say to myself I would never have an iDevice even as a gift but I must admit I am curious to try one out and a free one is a good way to go about that. struggling to decide if I should leave it sealed and sell it on or have a fiddle, and sell out.

Housemate has an iPad Mini. Seems to like it (despite the horrific case which doesn't really hold it, are you're super wary of the iPad sliding out and crashing to floor). But he's also on a MacBook and uses iPhone for work so it fits in his ecosystem.

Depends if you want the cash/android tablet or to fiddle about with that more. I'm super happy with my Tab Pro (which is about same size as an iPhone, but 16:9 so great for watching films/TV on the go.

after my moto g experiences, I doubt I will be buying an android device any time soon. I already have a windows tablet, miix 8 2 or something, by lenovo, so I don't need it. And while I wouldn't spend my money on it, having the £150-£200 or whatever I could sell it for sitting in my bank is hardly more exciting than having the item itself.

I'm probably just scared I'll actually like it. I guess it's kind of stupid not to like apple when there;s just as many reasons not to like any of the alternatives.
