Does this go here or in games? :P

Inspired by Critical Role and my friend running Pathfinder, as well as looking for more avenues in practising my writing, I decided I'm going to try and build a campaign for my friends. I'll build a small part of the world and they can design whichever characters they wish, then I'll do some one-on-one sessions online to tie their stories into a larger plot so they come together as a party organically. Will probably have to spend a good few weeks prepping everything though, but it's been fun so far just coming up with names, places and story hooks.

This!

I'm trying it out at work. I don't know yet what to feel about it. Yesterday I felt like I'm trading pain under my wrist for pain on my arm/shoulder, or that bone around your wrist. But figured you also should have proper table, seat and armrest height to use it effectively.

I think I'm getting used to it on my desk at work. Just trying not to put the weight on the bone. I think that's how you're supposed to hold it anyway, with your wrist floating on the table.

To be fair I think technically for purpose of ergonomics you're not meant to rest your forearms on the desk, hence the pads n such that raise your wrists up (you're also meant to use your arm to move your mouse not your wrist but I think most of us ignore that bit)

Not exactly a purchase, but my brother has thrown his drone my way since he's not getting much use out of it (both cos he can't be arsed, and also cos he's in a different country atm). I'm getting okay at it though I guess like less than an hours flight time so far given it's an hours charge for a few minutes of battery. It has a fair bit of air movement on it, it'll blow open magazines if you pass by them. Yet to take it outside, but I think it will need it some point, it's not quite designed for wholly intricate interior motions. I imagine it has a 120m range for a reason.

Welp, after 5 years of faithful service my MacBook Pro finally kicked the bucket last week. I'm pretty sure it's just the harddrive that died but the whole thing was on it's way out, so rather than replace the HD I figured it's time for a new computer so I've ordered:

That's right, a MacBook Air. I can hardly wait! The reason I ordered it, rather than go to Best Buy or whatever (this town lacks an Apple store) and pick one up, is that employee's at my company get a corporate discount if you order directly from Apple and if you order online you can customize it, so I used the savings to afford upgraded ram and a processor, which is good since the Air was a little weaker than the other MacBooks. I'm glad I made this decision, I was contemplating cheaping out and getting a PC but I realized I just can't go back to a Windows OS and computer, OSX is too great and the design of the MacBook can't be beat in my books.

Been out with my gran shopping. Picked up a copy of The Martian book from a charity shop. Figured while I can stick it on my Kindle, I can lend out a physical copy of the book. But the main thing I picked up was an Illustrated Enciclopedia of Tolkien. It's published 1991 but you'd figure it was from last year it was in such good nick. My gran was having a good ogle at the pictures inside, they're a nice variety of mixes throughout depending on the topic.

My younger sister started reading The Martian. "This has the f word as the first word Dean!". "Yeah he's stranded on another planet, fair place to say it"

A family friend is a picture framer, so I'm always on the look-out for more stuff to frame and hang up on the walls in my flat. I really dig the artwork Jakub Rozalski did for Scythe. It has that bizarre juxtaposition of early 20th century history... with mechs.

There were some postcards on eBay that are very cheap, so I snapped those up and once I get an idea of where I stand with my budget, I might look at some proper art prints of his stuff from here: https://society6.com/mrwerewolf/prints

I bought myself a new mattress today. It was long overdue, but I got a pretty great deal. I got a 2,300 dollar hybrid mattress on clearance for 650. I did have to take the floor display, but the store is only a few months old and I figure a slightly used 2,300 dollar mattress is still going to feel better and last longer than a brand new 600 dollar one. I also got a nice memory foam pillow since I have back and neck pain. It was expensive, but the guy took fifty bucks off since I was getting the mattress too. I also bought a new pad for it since the old one is in tatters.

And I got a new strap for my watch since the old one broke. All in all it was an expensive but very productive day. I am looking forward to actually sleeping comfortably.

I'd been wanting a flatcap for yonks but unfortunately there was a bit of a hipster craze about it a few years ago n the price kinda got pushed up a fair bit. Anywho saw a dirt cheap one today so picked it up. Probably not a thing I'll like wear going out into town n such (for one I'm in a city) but good to know I now have one.

edit: While I likely won't wear it around town, I'm totally wearing it atm. Really comfortable.
