Vecha
Thanks... I was worried it may not charge well while playing. (Though all chargers are different). I got a ravcharger(I think thats the spelling) hope it does well on trips and such.
Mister Jack
I also bought a power bank recently (I think the brand is DBpower?) and I don't know how I ever lived without it. It's primarily meant to be used to jumpstart your car in an emergency, and it is very good at doing that, but it also has ports for charging any USB device and also laptops. It also has a compass, a flashlight, and an emergency flare built right in. Technology sure has come a long way.
TheFlyingGerbil
A new boiler and it's installation costs. It's my main Christmas gift for my parents (a lot more than I'd normally spend) and while it's not the most exciting way to blow a decent whack of money, my Mum cried when I told her as she'd been so worried about it. It's something that's been on our minds to sort for years but came to a head when it flat out stopped working so we now have no heating/hot water until it's installed in a fortnight. Luckily the immersion heater still works if we're desperate, and have an electric shower and gas fire so we're not in dire straits.
TheMightyEthan
I have only encountered immersion heaters for fish tanks. I can only assume you mean something other than a fish tank heater...
TheFlyingGerbil
It sits in your hot water tank to directly heat the water using electricity. It's very dear compared to using the gas boiler to send hot water to sit in the tank waiting for use so is only for emergency use.
deanb
Also known by the eggcorn of "emergen heater".
toxicitizen
I started using beard care products a couple months back and finally got around to getting a beard brush since it's supposed to help get a more even application for oils and balms. As a guy with very curly and hard to manage beard hair, holy shit why did I wait so long to get one of these?!? Even ignoring the product application benefits, it's way more effective at training the hair to go straight down and stay there. I always end up trimming after a few months because it starts looking too messy on the sides but with this I might actually have a shot at growing a nice, long beard! Plus, it feel so fucking nice to use that I can't stop brushing my beard with it. Edited October 20, 2017 by Spooky Scary FLD
MetalCaveman
Thinking I should get one of those, I use a comb, but it something like that might be better. On topic: 3 sets for almost the same price as a single set over at Amazon Mexico. Certain issues prevented me from buying a new guitar (free healthcare means nothing if you're not actually signed up for it as it turns out ) so I'm taking care of the one I already have, starting with some new strings. Also got some more of the Dunlop JP picks, normally, I avoid using the signature stuff, but these are the best picks I've used. Finally, there was a sale on kindle books the other day, bought The King Arthur Collection, and The Once And Future King.
MetalCaveman
Also, Urn, the new Ne Obliviscaris album, though that one has sort of an NSFW cover Spoiler \m/ \m/
Mal
Remember when you can get 16GB of RAM for about $100? Now is not that time... Edited November 2, 2017 by Mal

TheMightyEthan
I've had (have now? don't remember) some G.Skill RAM. It was RAM.
CorgiShinobi
I also had some G.Skill RAM. Can confirm, it was RAM.
Mal
I'm pretty sure I've seen them for most of the 2010's. Anyways, I'll be a bit concerned if my computer problem continues after I install this RAM. Be kind of funny to sell them off for the price I paid for them if RAM price continues to increase... deanb
Went on a wee shopping trip and got: - A new satchel - A camera backpack so I can go cycling - a new alarm clock - a network extender kit - a pizza cutter - a zinger burger Also wanted a coat but only saw two I liked and one was £150 and the other was significantly cheaper but hard weirdly tight arms (it otherwise was really nice )
TheFlyingGerbil
I used to have a coat with weird sleeves that pulled the whole coat up when I lifted my arms, it was a nightmare, glad you didn't get stuck with something like that. I still have a pizza cutter but my favourite thing to cut pizza is scissors.
deanb
The scissors in the kitchen of my current place of occupation are a bit naf, though I've used them in a pinch they're a bit of a pain as they're too small so you end up having your fingers and the handle in the pizza. I've a decent pair of scissors (and a pizza cutter) in my stuff, but it's all in storage until I make the even bigger purchase.
MetalCaveman
Missed out on the LE because the peso collapsed hard, so now that this was 50% off I didn't think twice. I've been using the Dunlop John Petrucci picks for a while and though I love them, they were sold out, while these ones were on sale. Kind of an odd shape, but after using them for a bit I like them, it does feel like the cut helps improve the handling/grip. They're also pretty much impossible to lose, being neon green and all. Mr. GOH!
Just bought an x900e sony bravia TV. 65 inches, my friends. This will replace the 42 inch shitty insignia TV I bought six-ish years ago. https://www.sony.com/electronics/televisions/xbr-x900e-series
deanb
I bought a coat. It's not 4K but it keeps me warm.
Mal
Kindle Paperwhite for myself. Amazon has a five-month payment plan with no interest or whatever so that's nice.
TheFlyingGerbil
I don't have an amp to connect them yet, but I've been hemming and hawing over combinations of the three for months (or more) so plumping for these two tonight is a pretty big milestone. Feeling a mixture of stress and relief at having pinned a decision down (or two thirds of one anyway).
TheMightyEthan
Got a 500GB SSD for my boot drive. I've already got one that has my games on it. My PC has been behaving oddly and I've been meaning to do a clean install of Windows anyway, so I figure that's the perfect time to upgrade drives.
CorgiShinobi
I had some gift card money left, so instead of some video game I won't have time for I got the Back to the Future Trilogy for $20 and The Lord of the Rings Trilogy Extended Version for $26 off Amazon. Sometimes waiting 6+ years helps out!
