That's nice. I've got a Tissot that I love for its clean lines and accurate automatic movement, it didn't cost the earth either (https://www.tissotwatches.com/en-gb/t0864071605700.html?gclid=CjwKCAjwu_mSBhAYEiwA5BBmfxWDtT1ihZiq2X6v2WQOwjdGNsUNXEcBd40mtmsgjY9LYA7zbNMTIRoCuhAQAvD_BwE):

I've been thinking of getting another one soon. Something in the £500-£1,000 price bracket, maybe a skeleton/open heart style, with a metal wristband.

I have about half a dozen I love but never use. They awlays seemed to be dead by the time I got around to wearing them so I ended up always wearing this one as it's automatic:

Had it for at least 20 years. Looking for photos online it seems they still sell it but mine has a wider, straight bracelet which I prefer. It's lasted better than the other swatch watches I've had but isn't so accurate anymore and needs winding if I don't wear it every day. The performance of my other ones has put me off getting more swatches though.

Might buy a battey for one or two watches, wear them regularly until the battery goes then replace a different watch. Suppose it's stupid to save a watch for best as it never gets used that way.

I think my next one will be this: https://www.christopherward.com/sports-watches/c63-sealander-bronze-cosc/C63-39ADC3-B00K0-TK.html the company is fairly local to me so I can check it out before buying. I think I would like a green fabric strap rather than black personally, hopefully they can do that.

I like it cos you can see some of the movement through the dial, but it still looks easy to tell the time with it.

I agree about "keeping for best", it means you never wear the things you like (and I think is a sign that you maybe spent a bit too much on the watch if you feel like you can't afford to wear it). I partly want the new watch so I can send the Tissot in for a service (I've had it for about a decade now).

Received an email this morning informing me that my pre-order for the two FFXIV Encyclopedia reprints that were set to come out in a couple weeks were delayed to August. So instead of being a responsible adult and just appreciating that money staying in my wallet, I used that as an excuse to order all 9 volumes of Monster: Perfect Edition!

This may or may not have been influenced by me finally starting to read Akira this week and it being really fucking good so far. It definitely put me in the mood to read more manga in the near future. Really excited to revisit Monster as it's been like 15 years since I watched the anime and at the time I remember feeling like it was basically the greatest thing ever. Here's hoping it holds up!

Got into watches in the last few years. However I'm also poor, so I don't get to splurge as often as I'd like on them.

Timex Midtown Chronograph

I love the detail with the flat batons and the face curving above them, I know I'd smile every time  looked at it.

Super clean looking watch in bronze, which I actually think looks really classy. Now if only it wasn't nearly a months wage for me 😪

I've got it on now. Few initial observations, the dials are easy to see, there's not too much noticeable ticking (which I've found with my Timex Weekender is a problem) and there's this slight concave effect that gives it a lovely touch. I don't love the strap, but I guess I can always replace that down the line.

Yeah, I was looking for a local, independent made watch. That's one of the more modestly priced ones. Some of them literally hundreds of thousands with a 2yr waitlist.

Zoom in on Alt View Zoom 18. Logitech - PRO X SUPERLIGHT Lightweight Wireless Optical Gaming Mouse with HERO 25K Sensor - Black.

The mouse I was using is...fine, but the dongle for the wireless isn't always 100% reliable and I like the feel of it in my hand but I don't love it. I decided to make this my birthday gift to myself. It was expensive, but it's light as a feather and feels great to use. The wireless should be more reliable too and it also recharges with USB so I don't need to use batteries anymore. It may not have a DPI button but I can just set that to a keyboard macro later if I really want to. The DPI is ultimately higher on this one anyway.

lol, nah, thanks to an event in Fate Grand Order I got into cardistry, this:

Though I'm nowhere near as good as those guys lol, far, far, FAR from it, I can barely pull a Sybil without cards flying everywhere. :P

Which is the thing, certain moves like the pressure fan:

Can bend, warp, or otherwise damage the cards and that's if you can pull them off properly, if not, the damage is even worse lol, add to that the damage suffered when cards fall on hard floors, bends when trying to pick them up and other issues and it's easy to chew through a deck in a short while. :P

I know some people who go through one deck per week, which IMO is insane, but not that uncommon depending on what moves you practice and for how long.

My first deck, a Bicycle Rider Back that I had for years before using it for this stuff, has some cards that are now bent to hell lol, got a new one a couple of months ago and that one is still in pretty decent shape, for now. :P

Just realized that I forgot to post two big purchases I made in the last few weeks. Finally decided to upgrade to some proper speakers + headphones for my setup.

hjts1HE.png2TGti3I.png

In both cases, they're models that I've been wanting for years but that I couldn't afford until now. I needed smaller speakers that would fit on my desk without compromising on sound quality and decent headphones that won't give me a headache when I wear them for an extended period of time.

The ones I already have sound good but they're so tight that they become uncomfortable really quickly whereas these basically feel like I'm not wearing anything. They're not as good at blocking out ambient noise but I'm only planning on using them in my room at night so that shouldn't be a problem. And even if it does come up, then I can just use my old ones. Oh and I got a magnetized PUCK™ so that I can hang them on the side of my case!

It's hollow so it's useful for cable management, too. The cable on these is super long so I just wrap it around most of the time and only take it out when I wanna go lie down in bed with them. Not the worst twenty bucks I ever spent!

Good sound is more important than it gets credit for from most people.

Yeah, I wish I could invest in a proper surround setup but I don't really have the space for that right now.

Absolutely, love how my AKG sound, but they aren't the most comfortable for long sessions, the G733 are much more comfortable and wireless, but the bass is a bit too strong for me. :P

Yeah, I think comfort is a big priority for gaming headsets. The Corsair Void Pro is by far the most comfortable pair I own. They have these big cushions on the ears but the sound quality just isn't good enough to use all the time. It's serviceable when I play a co-op game with friends and need to be in a discord call but that's about it. Their being wireless makes them really handy for when I wanna listen to a podcast or audiobook while doing the dishes, though!

Treated myself to a new watch. This time it's the Orient Kamasu. Got it for £300 and it's absolutely gorgeous. I may end up switching the band out as I'm not a massive fan of metal bracelets, but aside from that I think it might be my favourite watch in my collection.
