https://www.proceso.com.mx/nacional/2020/10/24/las-energias-limpias-son-un-sofisma-lopez-obrador-251507.html

"Clean, renewable energies are a sophism of the neoliberal era, what we need is to buy more coal..."

Our president, in an interview, same interview where he stated that there have been no more increases to fuel price, never mind that they recently introduced modifications to tax laws in order to ensure fuel never goes before a certain price again. It can go up, but never down.

In other news, the National Family Front is flipping out because the Pope said homosexual couple couples are cool. They're like "Nah, he didn't say that, not at all, the Pope would never support that filth, his words were taken out of context, that's all, yeah..."

Oh yeah, and they're blaming the Masons, 'cause apparently, according to them, the Masons and the LGBTQ+ community are working together in some kind of global conspiracy or something. :P

Once again, governors of 10 different states are threatening to abandon the federation if the president keeps ignoring them.

They're tired because "there's no money" for hospitals, education, infrastructure, security, etc, but there is a ton of money for that shitty airport that won't work, that refinery that won't work, that train that will destroy the jungle and the hundreds of baseball schools the president wants.

So now they're saying that, unless changes are made to the 2021 budget, allocating more money for the states and their needs, that they'll begin the process of removing their respective states from the federation, effectively tearing the country apart.

AMLO has also announced that companies and regulatory agencies need to play nice with PEMEX and CFE, and stop trying to bring back them neoliberal renewable energies, or he will change the law to force them to comply.

Communities in Campeche have obtained a suspension for the Mayan Train, claiming it violates a right to a healthy environment, as it would destroy the jungle and cause damage to the entire ecosystem, among the people who worked to get this done are several indigenous communities, you know, the Mayas, who don't want the Mayan train to be built in their land. :P

I can see the president tomorrow, in his press conference "These bourgeois Mayas, they are associated with the neoliberal conspiracy, they want to stand in the way of progress, but our fourth transformation won't be stopped." :P

Well, now there's discussions on a new series of reforms and laws to restrict and/or prevent the presence of DEA/FBI agents in Mexico, on one hand, good, they ain't got no reason to be doing whatever they want on other countries, on the other hand, this has nothing to do with that, and everything to do with Cienfuegos being arrested.

I wonder (and I don't know how likely it is) if Biden would be up for bringing the whole "Cartels as terrorists organizations" thing back.

Aristoteles Sandoval, former governor of Jalisco was murdered inside a bar last month, his 15-person security detail wasn't much good, back then authorities talked about how the people working there had cleaned the place before they arrived, recently, the videos were found and shared on the news.

After his murder, everyone, waiters, bartenders, manager, everyone, proceeds to clean and remove any evidence, a carpet that covered an entire hallway was removed and disposed of, you know that scene in John Wick, when the dudes go in and clean after the attack on his house? Like that, so far only 4 people have been arrested, laughable considering you can see at least 12 on the videos.

Also on December, there was a blackout that left 10 million people across different states without electricity for several hours, the cause? According the CFE and the government, a fire that burned some power lines, oh and renewable energies, right, they blamed this mostly on the fact that renewable energy sources were creating so much electricity it overloaded the system.

Recently, CFE came out and admitted the document they showed back then, about the fire, was forged, there was no investigation and while there was indeed a fire, there seems to be no evidence that it played a role on the blackout, instead, they once again blamed renewable energy sources and have declared that multiple plants that generated energy using renewable sources will be shut down in order to prevent this from happening again, coal and gas plants will continue as normal.

LMAO, As expected, soon as he was sent back to Mexico we all knew how it would end, he's been set free, with no charges, and now the president is accusing the DEA of falsifying evidence.

Also apparently Pompeo and other dudes aren't too happy about the sudden changes to energy investments, which have affected both private and government investments in Mexico, so that's also going to be a thing, maybe, depends on how seriously Bidden and his team want to take this stuff. :P

Peña Nieto and his team:  *Steals $400 million during their 6 years in power*

MORENA: "Hold my Cuarta transformacion..." *steals $2.5 billion in 2 years*

AMLO: "I'm the first president that isn't corrupt, no, those weren't bribes, those were voluntary donations from our supporters, no you can't know where that money went to and where it came from, it's uh.... a matter of national security, but yeah, I'm not corrupt, I'm honest, those who say otherwise are enemies of the nation, servants of neoliberal conspirators, I'm clean and perfect and free from fault, thank you."

Our president, the man who claimed that "honesty, integrity and not being corrupt" were the best ways to protect yourself from COVID caught COVID...

And of course, now that he's out of it, he claims that usage of facemasks is pointless, because he's not "contagious".

The punchline being that in his first conference since he got sick, he went on one of his usual tirades:

"I'm making a dictionary of neoliberal words, yeah, I talked to the leaders of G20 and there were several words that caught my attention, like resilience, anyone knows what that means?" *Several journalists raise their hands* "Yeah no... I mean, the people out there, what does it mean? Resilience? It's a new word I hadn't heard about, there's also this other word they like to use... Uh.... Empathy! Yeah that's right, because there's sympathy, and there's antipathy, so there must be something called empathy right?"

So yeah, for our president, empathy is a neoliberal buzzword, explains a lot actually.

"The bourgeois complaining about the sun, the amount of people, that they're on the streets and they don't like waiting...

... Welcome to your first contact with public health, with the people. You don't need a credit card to enjoy health."

So says a candidate from MORENA in response to people raising complaints about the conditions in which the government has begun vaccinating people, keep in mind, they're starting only with 60+ year old people, and this is the conditions they find themselves in:

Wait times of over 7 hours, on the street, under the sun, without bathrooms, without any help, street vendors approaching them to sell whatever, need a bathroom but want to keep your spot on the line? Better hope you have friends or family with you that can hold it for you. But as you can see, these are all bourgeois who deserve to suffer, for they are enemies of the 4T, evil villains who have enjoyed a life of privilege and who don't know what it's like to be poor. Look at that street! It's practically paved with gold and diamonds! :P

Of course, we had a pretty decent system in place, not only for vaccinations, but also for transporting the damn things, it used to work, and while it did have some issues, those were the kind of issues that by solving them, you'd improve life for EVERYONE, but as we all know, that was part of the evil neoliberal conspiracy benefitting only the bourgeois who live in small poor isolated communities without access to private hospitals and personalised care, so it had to be destroyed for the benefit of the 4T.

I guess their idea of equality is, "Why improve things for everyone, when you can just fuck everything for everyone?"

Except of course, rich people can still afford to get private, personalised treatments in the best hospitals, and some have even resorted to travelling to other countries in order to get vaccinated there. So in the end, it's poor people that'll get fucked the hardest, and they'll like it and ask for more, because the president and his people keep reminding them that all evil comes from the neoliberal PRIAN that should never be allowed back in power, that only MORENA can save them.

Incidentally, a candidate from MORENA had people going around giving these little slips telling you that if you voted for him, he would guarantee your vaccine so...

The president, defending Felix Salgado Macedonio, MORENA candidate for governor in Guerrero, after at least five women have come forward accusing him of assault, first part of his "trial" was conducted in secrecy, in front of a group of MORENA officials, and without allowing the victims or their lawyers to be there.

They called themselves the "most feminist party ever" yeah, that's going well so far ain't it?

Fear of a coup in 2024 grows, as the president continues to hand even more power to the army, destroying/removing/closing any civilian agencies he doesn't agree with, and the secretary of defence pledging the army's "undying loyalty" to the president and his cause.

They called themselves the "most feminist party ever" yeah, that's going well so far ain't it?

After more accusations were presented, the MORENA ethics committee removed his candidacy, then the president accused all victims of being paid actors and immediately, MORENA placed him back, now he's going to be their candidate for governor and he's likely to win.

One of the victims had to flee to another country, and more don't know what to do now that the president has stated that a rapist has his full support.

Further, the president, in one of his morning conferences claimed that "feminism and environmentalism were created by conservatives to impede progress"

In news about the environment, the "sembrando vida" program, which is supposed to incentivize reforestation, has been found to have the opposite effect.

The old version paid people from small rural communities to protect their land, ensuring that jungles/forests/etc weren't destroyed and preserving the echosystems as they were. Our current president, as usual, marked it as some kind of evil neoliberal program and modified it, now, people are paid to plant specific crops and trees, then making money from selling the resulting produce.

Two things with this process:

  1. People are now tearing/burning down forests and jungles in order to plan the crops the government wants them to, if they don't do so, if they try to preserve things, then they get paid nothing, and lose all other benefits.
  2. The government is, in many cases, asking people to plant foreign invasive species, causing further damage to local echosystems.

So it's effectively making things WORSE for the environment, but people have no choice but to burn down or chop everything down, and plant whatever invasive species they're asked to, else they lose all support and they can't afford that.

Of course, the president insists that his program is a blessing and that other countries are praising it as one of the best in the world. ?

We might not have to wait until 2024 for AMLO to just "I'M THE SENATE" the shit out of everything:

https://www.forbes.com.mx/reforma-electrica-inconstitucional-cambiamos-constitucion-amlo/

https://www.proceso.com.mx/nacional/2021/3/17/morena-va-por-modificacion-ley-de-amparo-busca-que-jueces-no-puedan-suspender-leyes-260226.html?espv=1

https://www.lapoliticaonline.com.mx/nota/135283-exclusivo-zaldivar-mando-llamar-al-juez-que-suspendio-la-reforma-electrica-de-amlo-y-la-reunion-termino-en-insultos/

AMLO: "I will change the law to displace clean energies, increase production through CFE's plants and force the purchase of fuel-oil from PEMEX! Yay for the 4T! Yay for energy independence!"

Judge Juan Pablo Gómez Fierro: "Nope, not so fast, those changes to the law are unconstitunal, violate people rights to a clean environment, threaten the safety of millions, plus, breach several existing contracts with renewable energy companies."

AMLO: "You evil neoliberal judge! Bought by private interests! I'll have you investigated! There will be consequences!"

Also AMLO: "If my changes to the law are unconstitutional, I will change the constitution, NO ONE STOPS THE 4T!"

And there you have it, so far the response from the judge in question has apparenly been: "You can't threaten me! You can tell Zaldivar (head of the supreme court and person who immediately agreed to AMLO's demand to investigate judge Juan Pablo) to FUCK HIMSELF!" Other judges have also stepped in to put a stop to this law, all met with the same response.

So now, MORENA is also aiming to change the law to prevent any kind of legal protection (appeal(?)) against law changes that target CFE and PEMEX, so that there's no legal way to stop them.

They've also engaged the propaganda machine, targetting companies like OXXO and BIMBO, among other giants in Mexico, because they all use their own energy plants (some of them being 100% renewable, with BIMBO claiming they will soon switch to a 100% electric fleet for the entire country), and so they end up using what they need, and pumping the rest back into the grid, which is good, except that it's clean, and the government doesn't like clean.

The best part?

Multiple organizations have run simulations, and the majority of these place MORENA as the great victor for the next round of elections, meaning that AMLO won't need to use the army (to whom he recently handed over even MORE power), because people will gladly serve him the country on a silver platter, leaving him to do whatever he wants, with no opposition or counterweight of any kind.

Some months ago several people, including the president whined about some US intelligence officials supposedly claiming that about 30% of Mexico was under cartel control*, they went on and on about how that was all false, that we're some kind of beacon of justice and hope, whatever.

Yesterday, CJNG took control of Aguililla in Michoacan, the National Guard and the army retreated "to avoid further confrontations".

Meanwhile, in Matamoros, the mayor had El Vaquero, leader of the Cartel del Golfo registered as a public official, ironically, as a member of the local Public Safety Secretary, this granted him immunity and allowed local police to move in and block roads during previous arrest attempts.

https://www.eluniversal.com.mx/estados/alcalde-morenista-de-matamoros-tiene-en-nomina-el-vaquero-lider-del-cartel-del-golfo

*In reality, if we count both direct (like what happened in Aguililla) and indirect (influencing elections, buying/intimidating politicians, etc.) it's probably closer to 60-70% if not higher.

This makes me think of something I once read about the bronze age invasion of the sea peoples. The only really good records we have of it are the Egyptian records, because they're the only existing civilization in the Mediterranean that really survived more or less intact, even though really they lost the wars. Their records consist primarily of records of military victories over the sea peoples, but for some reason those victories keep moving deeper and deeper into Egyptian territory...

Well, INE did their job, Salgado Macedonio, had his candidacy removed, this time because he, along with other MORENA candidates from other states, were unable to justify certain expenses as part of the electoral season budget.

What follows is what MORENA has us accustomed to, the president accused INE of being a neoliberal organization created to support the global elite that seeks to preserve their privilege (never mind that INE exists in large part due to his tantrums against IFE), MORENA candidates from other states as well as other members of the party rallying to support this rapist piece of shit and then... Something that shouldn't be surprising, but that should still be enough to land some people behind bars.

Salgado and his followers staged a protest, during which he threatened the members of INE that removed his candidacy.

https://www.animalpolitico.com/2021/04/felix-salgado-no-plan-b-mario-delgado-pide-ine/

"If they don't redeem themselves we're going to find them. Wouldn't the people of Mexico love to know where Lorenzo Cordova lives? How the little fucker's house looks like?"

It didn't stop there, cartel style, they held a "funeral" for their enemies:

INE representatives, along with Lorenzo Cordova, INE's president, refused to lower down to their level. Affirming their decision and saying that all issues should be resolved through proper channels.

After this, another vote occurred within INE, to ratify or walk back the suspension, the suspension stands, however, 5 out of 11 council-people voted in favour of Salgado, turns out, those 5 were "recommended" by the president, encouraged to "work for the betterment of the nation, against the elite".

Of course, after this, the president has announced that INE has "too much power" and that it's a "waste of resources that could go to the good people of Mexico" so now he wants to destroy it.

For the record, during Salgado Macedonio's time as mayor of Acapulco, child slavery and prostitution were common in the area, many "nightclubs" held "auctions" with knowledge and protection of local authorities and he himself was known for surrounding himself with young ladies, many of them too young. Guy's a sickening sack of shit that shouldn't be free, let alone allowed to run for such a position.

https://m-x.com.mx/al-dia/felix-salgado-macedonio-en-acapulco-le-decian-el-senor-de-los-table-dance

In other news, with the coming election, the president has already warned that, should MORENA not gain enough votes to control congress, he'll use his power to veto everything congress tries to pass. In his style he's warning that a non-MORENA congress will try to "take money away from the poor" and other fantasies of his. The good news is that no noose is a good noose, so having him veto everything and nothing passing is better than his servants approving his every whim.

In other other news, the president presented a new vaccine, proudly made in Mexico, by Mexican researchers in Mexican labs, none of that foreign neoliberal bullshit, it's even called Patria (fatherland) to show what we're all about...

Except that it's actually the NDV-HXP-S vaccine developed in the US and licensed to Mexico (and other countries) as a low-cost alternative to currently available vaccines.

I'm all for more options, but the way this is being used to continue this idea of AMLO and MORENA being the holy saviours of the land is sickening.

So, are we (US and other Western countries) seriously going to let India drop in a COVID nightmare that even us in the United States cannot comprehend? This pandemic is not over for anyone until it's over for everyone. For the maker of a lot of pharmaceuticals including COVID-19 vaccines for the world to be sieged just seems so evil. It's like an echo of colonialism.

The United States has the two mRNA vaccines plus J&J that is on the verge of being reapproved. We have a stockpile of tens of millions of AZ vaccines that we very likely do not need. Best place to shore up is India (even if it's a drop in a bucket) or even Mexico or Canada (our neighbor to the north is having issues from what I hear).

I swear, if we keep this up then we deserve to have a variant that wipe the floor with our mRNA vaccines.
