Mal
I'm almost always more interested in the single player campaign... Halo 3's MP and SP didn't do anything for me. SP did better but still... so yeah, hope it don't suck. Currently pinning it at a $30 game.
TheMightyEthan
Yeah, unless it's coop multiplayer I couldn't care less.
Waldorf and Statler
Well the Halo multiplayer is always among the top 5 or so. In fact Reach's multiplayer is as close to perfection and if it wasn't for me not giving a shit about multiplayer unless I'm playing with friends, I would play Halo over MW. TheMightyEthan
Yeah, I do really enjoy multiplayer with friends, but the thing is I don't really have friends who play much multiplayer outside of the occasional Starcraft session. We do play coop quite a bit though.
excel_excel
So the multiplayer will have a perk system. Thoughts?
Luftwaffles
So the multiplayer will have a perk system. Thoughts? Provided it sticks to stuff like "carry one extra grenade", "spring 10% faster", or "carry 25% more ammo", I'm fine. If it starts to have perks like increasing weapon damage, reducing splash damage, or increasing melee range, then I'll have an issue with it.
Mal
Can we turn it off...?
TheMightyEthan
Everything I hear about Halo 4 makes me less interested in it. They're trying to make it like CoD it seems. If I wanted to play CoD I would play CoD. People play Halo because they like Halo, and it has a very different feel from CoD.
Waldorf and Statler
Yeah I really hope this doesn't follow Battlefield 3's most played maps/DLC in terms of losing your core gameplay and focusing on a MW clone.
Yantelope V2
I think perks can be okay when they learn from a few things. Perks need to be carefully balanced and they need to be tailored to how you want to play rather than a few perks that are borederline necessary. Stopping power in COD4 was a must equip always and you never didn't use it so it made the second perk slow more or less pointless. BF3 does a good job with "specializations" where you can pick between ammo or sprinting or whatever depending on how you plan to play. The drawback to this is the paper rock scissors nature of the gameplay. I'm okay with perks and killstreak rewards and such so long as they're balanced well. I think part of the problem with Halo Reach was that the armor abilities were totally imbalanced.
Waldorf and Statler
TBH I want to see the direction of the music and the story/campaign. The talent they hired was specifically designed for making the campaign as best as possible. I WANNA SEE. CAN YOU SHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOW ME. DocSeuss
It should be noted that Frankie somewhat exasperatedly posted on NeoGAF that they are NOT perks in the way you think they are.
TheMightyEthan
Then they need to make that clear whenever talking about them, otherwise people are going to assume the word means what it is normally used to mean.
jimmuhpage
I like perks! They're comfy and easy to fondle!
MetalCaveman
http://www.eurogamer...an-ops-revealed "Spartan Ops, according to the latest issue of Game Informer (via NeoGaf ), replaces Firefight, which is no more. It works similarly to Call of Duty's Spec Ops mode, but with an episodic storyline played out over several months' worth of TV show season-style DLC." Also: "Important changes have been made to the multiplayer gameplay, too. In Halo 4 weapons drop down in drop pods at random locations around the map, preventing Halo's traditional weapon camping." TheMightyEthan
No Firefight? My interest level just got downgraded. Not passing final judgment, I'll wait to see how Spartan Ops looks, not to mention the main campaign, though the fact that you have to buy the SO chapters with in-game currency is a bad sign. I didn't think I could care about this game, but I think both of these things are excellent ideas. May well get it after all. No Firefight? My interest level just got downgraded. Not passing final judgment, I'll wait to see how Spartan Ops looks, not to mention the main campaign, though the fact that you have to buy the SO chapters with in-game currency is a bad sign. Spec Ops is basically Firefight, but better, tbqh. It's the only reason I nearly bought MW3 (which I didn't, BF3 is simply a better game), i played Spec Ops at a family member's house, and it is absolutely fantastic. Singleplayer and multiplayer were still weak.

My question is why aren't the grunts wearing masks? They breathe a cryogenic methane atmosphere, which is generally not pleasant for any of the other sentient races. TheMightyEthan
While the quality of the art is higher than a lot of games, I've got to say that it's way too busy for me.
Yantelope V2
I'm really having a hard time getting excited about Halo for the first time. Same goes for the new Black Ops.
