TheMightyEthan
I'm actually more excited for Blops 2 than I have been for any Treyarch CoD game since 3, or any CoD game at all since MW2. But yeah, I'm not terribly interested in this game either.
Waldorf and Statler
If they improve the multiplayer to keep the Halo feeling alongside the customization of Modern Warfare PLUS the armor customization system of Reach, I'm sold.
VicariousShaner
Spartan Ops seems like a really great idea, and one that I would like to see in a few other games. I think that the only way this won't work out is if the basic game play falls short of expectations. But yeah, it would be great to see this thing catch on. sixrocket
Unsure if want on this one, and considering how long its been since I've turned on my Xbox I doubt i'll be picking it up. Release it for PC and we might have a deal MS. Might.
Waldorf and Statler
Releasing it for PC really early in its life would defeat the whole purpose of it being an exclusive. Bungie allowed Halo 2 and 3 to be released on PC like almost a year or two later.
Faiblesse Des Sens
Bungie allowed it, or MS?
Yantelope V2
Releasing it for PC really early in its life would defeat the whole purpose of it being an exclusive. Bungie allowed Halo 2 and 3 to be released on PC like almost a year or two later. Halo 3 was never released on PC. Only Halo 1 and 2. Halo 1 waited 2 years to be released on PC. Halo 2 came 3 years later on the PC.

Hot Heart
It looks...interesting. Though I think Cortana's VA is starting to show her limits with that shout at the end. I'm a little surprised they didn't add any vocal effects or something to enchance it.
deanb
Apparently this is from the MP, but it could still be campaign spoilery.
TheMightyEthan
The Blacklight virus has spread to Halo? Just a joke about Dean's picture, for those concerned about spoilers.
Maritan
You know, after playing Halo 4 I wonder why people say that call of duty is a bad game that doesn't change. After 10 years it's the same as the first one, and the first one was a shitty UT clone for console peasants. Oh yes, and campaign will be the same as in previous games(except ODST, which I find to be the best halo game because of that): you kill covenant(yep, the same little silly aliens who are accompanied by a bunch of bigger ones, original content, do not steal), then TOTALLY SUDDENLY AND FUCKING UNEXPECTEDLY that retarded pop-corn comes out and you kill it too. Oh, this time there will be "prometheans", that's a good one. Seriously, when I see people admiring halo I sometimes suspect that it's all a big bad joke that I can't understand. It looks and plays like some hungarian half-life 1 mod, only with bad controls and idiotic crosshair positioning. More impressions on campaign to follow. Probably. TheMightyEthan
I'm gonna go out on a limb here and say that for the most part the people who say Call of Duty is bad because it never changes probably aren't the same people who like Halo. Because you're right, gameplay-wise it is basically the same as the first one was, but considering I can still go back and play and enjoy the first one, which I can't do with a lot of other games from the same time that I liked just as much, I don't personally think that's a bad thing. Make sure to keep anything about the campaign in spoiler tags.
Hot Heart
I tend not to get hung up on what is said by game fans, in general. So much wasted energy.
SomTervo
It's not worth it. I'm not a Halo fan, but I thought Halo 4 looked better than most of the others, due to the fact it was introducing some actual new mechanics (which hasn't truly been done since the first one). Am I wrong? console peasants Good Edited October 17, 2012 by kenshi_ryden
TheMightyEthan
See, I wasn't terribly interested in this game, since it's not being made by Bungie, until I started seeing hands-on previews from various sites saying that it still feels like Halo. Also, equipment/armor abilities were a new mechanic in 3/Reach, but they didn't really have much of an effect on the gameplay until Reach, and even then it was mostly multiplayer that they affected. SomTervo
Yeah I didn't even remember them because they were so relatively superficial. Nothing has been done to improve Halo's actual core gameplay since
Mal
I'm currently watching a stream of Halo 4. Looks alright. Storywise, Halo 4 certainly doesn't hold as much magic as the first three with the Chief since we got no fight to finish. Reach and ODST had their own sort of magic. Gameplay seems like it really went back to Halo 1 with no duel wield. Not sure what difficulty he is playing on but he's getting his ass handed to him in situations where I don't think it should be that hard. Also, still Convent only so far. Edit: New baddies showed up. Human-like skull faces? These guys are reminding me of the Necrons from Warhammer 40k. Added: Know your lore and you can figure out where these guys came from. Storyline spoilers: They uncovered a Sith Lord. Chief indeed is the Chosen One, The Prince that was Promised. Librarian and the Didact at war with each other. Talk about a divorce. Holy shit. Added some more spoilers. Gameplay wise... different routes. Nice. Pelican flying, AWESOME. Final edit: That ending. No comment until after the game drops and you folks finish Halo 4. Baconrath
I've noticed from a few gameplay videos that some players had like a rocket boost. Not like a jetpack, more like, uh...the thrust pack from Red Faction: Guerrilla. What's up with that? ...or it may have been just a jetpack and I'm going crazy. TheMightyEthan
They have equipment like in Reach, so maybe it's a new one. It looks like reviews are going up already and they are quite positive.
deanb
For a console that has green as a sort of brand colour, they sure don't want their mascot have any. The jump to Halo 4 is neat, but given Halo 3 is pretty fugly not much to write home about.
TheMightyEthan
I don't like the changes they made to chief, because supposedly that's the same model of armor as he was wearing in 2 and 3 (in-universe model, not in-game model), but it looks completely different (shoulders and helmet being most obvious, aside from color). Between 1 and 2 they established that he had gotten an upgrade, I don't know why they couldn't have done the same thing here. Also, higher-res version: and for fun, here's Cortana: Being a hologram she can of course change her appearance at will, but man did her boobs get saggy. I still think the Halo 1 design is my favorite, but this one doesn't bother me as much as the chief.
deanb
Weren't they in stasis for a while? Holograms get old, fact of life. Also in Halo 2 it looks like she was wearing some kind of clothing/spandex. I don't get why they couldn't have done that.
