Yep thanks for that. Added it to the count the other day.

Also thinking of starting a new race come new year (donators still stick), as long as it's not too fiddly to set up with Pay Pal (though it doesn't seem to have issue with the three at the moment). Any ideas? Something gaming related preferably.

When you donate you pick a fave FF. Clearly donations are thin on the ground prompting Dean to ask if we hate FF and that is why we have not helped support the forum we love.

Reading between the lines Dean is saying "This place doesn't pay for itself yo! Gimme some cash."

How much does it cost per month? While it is an issue of transparency, the real issue is letting people like myself know where things stand on a real-time basis. Something you should update weekly (if you care to keep the site running)—or per donation if they don't come often. Or use a donation tracker if that's viable.

I've participated in ventures like this in the past. That is to say, very small community forums and servers that ran solely on the generosity (or some other trait) of the one running it and a few diligent members who could stand to fork over the occasional fiver. Generally, donations and interest will eventually become too little to support the website if activity wanes. But the issue I'm getting at is that there needs to be some visual representation of what's going on for people who may be interested in donating. One that's relatively up-to-date, and one that's inclusive insofar as relevant information is concerned. I shouldn't have to ask.

That isn't me saying shame on you for making me ask. It's me saying it should all be there for the sake of those interested and transparency. Because, well, you want to encourage donations, yeah? Heck, if you could get it on the front page of the forum (and maybe the website depending on your standards) that'd be your best bet.

It's $10.95 a month (I'd have prefered to throw a yearly lump sum, that did come with a discount but fell a bit short when the time came). The Domain is $10/year, and the forum itself is $15/6months. (Of which chat used to add an extra $20/6months on to that).

I wouldn't know of any simple visual way of letting folks know, donation trackers, what not. Tbh just allowing people to donate is a PITA through Paypal, I've got to do a site search to find it (because otherwise it's wanting me to set up business accounts n what now). And it's only recently (aka this months payment) that when making it a payment is has displayed current balance, hence my sudden "oh wow that is lower than I thought it'd be". I've never really been one for liking dealing with money, I hate having to even post in this thread, I'd much prefer to be able to still shoulder the full cost myself but not exactly a position I'm in atm. Hence me never ebign "transparent" with costs (and that you're the first person to ever ask). (Well apart from thread in Mod section I use for keeping track of ins and outs)
