Apparently some users are having performance issues on the PC version, even with cards that should be more than capable of maxing out the game, and that reducing graphics settings and even resolution doesn't fix the issue.  However, there have also been reports that turning TXAA off and using FXAA instead fixes the problems.  Just turning down TXAA doesn't fix it, you have to actually disable it.  Seems like there's a problem with the way TXAA is implemented so it's a much bigger performance hog than it should be.

A stealth playthrough of the same level, though not an official one by Bethesda all nicely cleaned up but an actual playthrough. Also not a non-lethal playthrough.

Also is it me or is his teeth not properly attached to his mouth. I guess a pre-release bug issue.

The best thing about this level, you can play it without pulling that lever...

I'm a fair way through it. Most of the powers Emily has access to have a lethal or non lethal use. Domino is a fun power for example where you can link up to 4 enemies, whatever happens to one of them, happens to all of them. If you knock one out, they all go unconscious, or if you murder one, they all die.

Overall powers are more heavily weighted to lethality such as a power that makes people you kill disappear or turn into a plague of flies which obviously has no value to a non-lethal playthrough, or upgrades to your parry ability, which is also a bit pointless for a stealthy/non-lethal play-through.

I've encountered a baffling issue on PC. I started a game on my laptop while my PC was out of commission. I switched to my PC once it was fixed and used my steam cloud save and continued my play through for a an hour or so. Saved on my PC and quit out.

When I wanted to play again, only my steam cloud saves are listed in the game. My save folder contains the new saves, but the game doesn't seem to register them. This is horribly frustrating because I'm afraid any new saves on my desktop will fail to load.

Otherwise, it runs very nicely on ultra on my desktop.

As it does for me. Got it at 4k with everything maxed and it's very pretty (granted I also have dynamic resolution on because occasionally but infrequently the framerate would drop into the 40's).

Save game issue resolved itself. I've finished the first two missions as Emily and it's pretty great so far. I was just wondering how critical it is to get every rune and bone charm. I haven't missed any, but getting the ones on the table in front of the Overseers' building was a real pain in the ass, especially since I'm doing a non-lethal play through.

I've also found it difficult to avoid being seen a bunch, especially when bringing the corpse to the gangster in the dentist's basement. I may have just chosen non-optimal powers, though.

I've made it through Mission 4 without being seen so far.  It doesn't seem harder than Dishonored 1, with the exception of a bug(?) I encountered where I was trying to take out a clockwork soldier with a grenade and it kept "seeing me" even though it wasn't, it was just seeing the grenade.

Yes, I finished the level and had 2 detections, reloaded a save from before that happened (it was very near the end of the level) and redid it without killing that clockwork and when I finished that time I had 0 detections.

*Edit - @GOH: I went all the way up on top of the buildings and then dropped down into some foliage very near the corpse drop-off.  I'm playing as Emily.

Managed to fix the weird stuttering issue. Apparently there's something jacked up with the in-game vsync, but I was able to get smooth performance by disabling vsync in-game, enabling it in my graphics card settings, and then setting the in-game framerate limiter to 60fps (setting it higher brings back the stuttering).

I think the problem was that the in-game vsync option was syncing at 59hz, but the framerate limiter would only do 60fps, and it was the mismatch causing the stuttering. The graphics card panel vsync though is syncing to my monitor's 60hz setting so it matches up with the framerate limiter.
