Faiblesse Des Sens
Prolly cuz it's the 360 version
deanb
It'd be pretty odd to make different visuals for each platform.
TheFlyingGerbil
do you mean stylistically rather than the quality of the graphics? If so I think you two have your wires crossed.
deanb
Yes I mean stylistically. If I'd have thought the graphics were shit I'd have said the graphics were shit, but FDS feels like being a contrarian douche 95% of the time. But as it is the 360 version, something the use of multi-coloured A B and cruddy d-pad on the UI gave away, and I don't use a 360, and it was a 480p video, I'm not going to be commenting on the quality of the graphics. TheMightyEthan
In his defense I thought you meant graphics too. Anyway, stylistically it looks the same as the trailers to me. Here's a higher res gameplay video: http://www.gametrailers.com/video/e3-2012-dishonored/731269
TheFlyingGerbil
Since it's a bit easy to assume FDS is being fractious and deliberately misunderstanding you I have to say your comment read how he took it. edit: oops, TME beat me to it. deanb
Well thanks for the vote of "dean is stupid and thinks pre-rendered trailers are what the graphical quality of the game will be like" dudes.
TheFlyingGerbil
no problem. Isn't democracy great.
deanb
So as I'm finding this thread to paste in the embed I hear in the other window "we'll posses a fish" and I'm like "lol wut". It's looking pretty damn neat. Does have "useful objects glow" feature in it if that kind of thing pissed you off in DXHR. I assume learning off the feedback to DXHR they'll have an option to turn that off.As best I can tell this is from E3 gameplay but much more stealthey. Waldorf and Statler
This game looks better and better the more I see of it. Though now I'm worried the only way to be sneaky is to use that jumping/short teleportation mechanic. Since every video I've seen seems to use it for every single sneaky moment to move past a room. I was hoping I'd be able to sneak behind people, turn off the light, or something ala old school Splinter Cell.
Mercurial
The Plague has made people's vision from mole to kind of hard of seeing. Edited July 3, 2012 by Dr.Krieger
Luftwaffles
Only issue I see so far is the FOV, but I'm hoping that's just because they're playing the X360 edition. Looks really neat, though.
Nipah
From what the guys in various videos are saying, they're aiming for the sky in terms of letting the player do what they want to do (in terms of moving around/attacking people). They mentioned (in some video I watched) that you could possess a guy, shoot his gun, stop time, walk him around in front of the bullet, unpossess/unstop time, and watch him essentially shoot himself (or do something similar by possessing someone, walking them off a high edge, and then unpossessing before they splat). Though I will admit this game had me at 1st person stealth, the amount of possible choices they talk about makes me a bit giddy (also, possessing a fish sounds like a hoot). Waldorf and Statler
Well they don't seem to be exploring the creativity. All they've shown me so far is possessing animals and sneaking around by using the teleportation.
TheMightyEthan
What they've shown might be limited by what's complete enough to show. Just hypothesizing though, it's not as if it's unheard of for devs to promise the sun and the moon and fail to deliver.
deanb
Yeah I'm gonna guess they're showing off what's simple enough to pull off and keep within a controlled environment for the purpose of showing off the gameplay. Some of the other techniques might require a bit more finesse. And also spoil the surprise of people discovering things on their own. Like the slow-time-shoot-bullet-at-self technique. TheMightyEthan
http://www.rockpaper...order-rat-trap/ The 3000 different pre-order versions have been announced. *Edit* - The bonuses appear to be different in the US. Here Amazon has the Backstreet Butcher Pack, but in UK Shop.To.Net has it. *Edit 2* - Looks like we're getting ripped off too, with UK retailers charging 30 pounds ($47) but US ones charging $60. TheMightyEthan
The first two Dishonored shorts. I think they're releasing one each day, though I'm not sure how many in total there will be.

Waldorf and Statler
Man those were sick. This game keeps getting better and better. I hope it sells enough to warrant a sequel.
CorgiShinobi
Pre-ordered Dishonored a little late on Amazon so I won't get it tomorrow, but like I've said I probably won't pick it up right away either. Obviously it'll look its best on PC, but to be honest the game doesn't look as visually stunning as reviews are saying, and GT showed some of the A.I. flaws which had always concerned me during gameplay videos. At least the guards are not Thief-level stupid, but I'll definitely have to dumb-down my perception on stealth for this game.
Waldorf and Statler
I checked my mailbox today to see if by any chance the game was in. It wasn't so I'll have to play it starting wednesday since I have an exam to study for.

TheMightyEthan
I'm really liking it so far, but MAN could it use an HD texture pack. I'm tempted to say it's suffering from being on consoles, but I feel like consoles usually have higher res textures than this: Putting aside graphics though, the game is beautiful. Really digging the art style.
