Waldorf and Statler
Like Bolin with the acting lol. I hope Eska and him eventually meet up and patch things up. Though I like yandere Eska.
Mister Jack
Saying that you hope they "patch things up" implies that Bolin shares some of the blame for their shitty relationship. If they get back together, it'll have to be because Eska fully acknowledges that she was downright abusive to Bolin before and that she's been a terrible person for probably her entire life and that she wants to change because she actually cares about Bolin more than herself. It's not impossible, but that'd take a hell of a lot of character development considering the kind of woman she is right now.
Waldorf and Statler
Eh I'd say it's impossible because it seems to me she was only interested in him the same way a child cares about a toy they really like, but then that yandere scene made it seem like maybe she didn't convey her real self very well. Mister Jack
I do wish that Bolin would get some fucking poontang one way or another, though, because he's starting to depress me with how he's always the third wheel. Mako got with Asami AND Korra while Bolin is starting to look like a forever alone guy. Let's not forget this moment: Okay that was actually pretty funny but still, throw the poor guy a bone, writers. Eska, Korra, Ginger, fuckin Zhu Li, I don't care who. Waldorf and Statler
technically he was with Eska. And Ginger made it sound a bit today like if she saw how heroic he can be irl she might like him
deanb
So yeah, 10 seconds of Korra means it was a good episode. Cherry on top would be to have some Vacation Tenzin & co. Totally didn't see the "if you can't make profit in a war" guy turning out to have bad motives Kinda hoping it picks up somewhat.
Waldorf and Statler
Next episode will probably be "OOOOOOOH I DONT KNOW, WHO AM IIIIIIIIIIIII" the episode.
TheMightyEthan
Just watched it, thought it was good except for the end.
CorgiShinobi
All I want to say is that chair spin and grin: PERFECT! On a side note: Anyone notice how Unaloq doesn't really seem to care what his children do? Daughter is going to marry some guy he barely has seen, but whatever. Go get the Avatar. One of them could lose an arm and he'd probably ask if they completed their task.
TheMightyEthan
That's because they're soulless robots, and he treats them accordingly.
deanb
So yeah there's a theory on that
Mister Jack
I think it's just a case of Unalaq only caring about his kids as an extension of himself. He wants power, he wants prestige, and I can only assume he wants a legacy too. Eska and Desna are just means to an end, nothing more. If they had to die for him to get Korra, I don't doubt he'd be okay with that.
Waldorf and Statler
I don't know if he wouldn't care if something happened to them, but his priorities are entirely elsewhere. Say like Tywin with his kids.
Mister Jack
I just finished this week's two-parter. I don't know if everyone else will feel this way, but I really liked it. True, it took the focus away from the story at hand for two episodes, but I thought the origin story of the avatar was really interesting. It reminded me of a Chinese fable, and maybe I'm reading into it too much but it almost seemed like the art style was tweaked a bit to reflect that. Waldorf and Statler
Wan Aang is stll my favorite, but I'm a sucker for tragic stories and rags to riches, so Wan is now a very close second. I think these last 3 episodes (counting this one as 2) have been the best in the season by far. If this quality keeps up then it'll make up for a very lackluster opening 2-3 episodes. Mister Jack
This also removes Unalaq's last shred of credibility. Before, he had the excuse of trying to create balance for the bad things he did, but now that we know that Vaatu is sealed away in the spirit world, that makes Unalaq either an idiot who doesn't know what he's about to do, or a complete butthole who DOES know. Waldorf and Statler
Yeah. Maybe his goal is to kill/purify him though. We'll have to see. I will give something to this season Korra though, it has really expanded the universe quite a bit. I mean the first show with Aang and first season of Korra never really covered the origins of bending or spirits, so that's a definite plus for this season. Again if you ignore all the uninteresting civil war plot. It also looks like Korra is done with the whining/crying for now and unto an actual mission. Mister Jack
Unalaq would definitely be arrogant enough to think that he could purify him. I'm pretty sure he can't.
Waldorf and Statler
Yep that seems like his mission by far. Speaking of this episode, I liked the humanoid Momo-looking character. "I am proud to call you my friend....Stinky!"
TCP
Oh man that art style! Wan! Minimal Korra! Everything about that was great.
Waldorf and Statler
Yeah any episode with no Korra has been great. At this point just kill Korra after she does her thing this season, then have the adventures of everybody but Korra.

CorgiShinobi
Nick's video player can be real ass at times, but I finally watched Beginnings. Looks like it was quite the process to become the Avatar, and I'm wondering if... Wan understood that literally touching cosmic energy would fuse himself with Raava. Some fans are saying there are inconsistencies, but last I checked, everything is solid. Maybe the Last Airbender Book One story of Oma and Shu being the first Earthbenders could be moot, but then again they still could have been the first with the power of Earth to actually bend it. That's the key difference, just as Wan learned Firebending. I won't spoiler tag this because I said part of this in my spoiler, but I really don't see Unaloq becoming the "Dark" Avatar. The ramifications are too asinine. However, I will say that Lion Turtles aren't much of a Deus ex machina now. Sorta still for Aang's encounter, but we learned that bestowing elements is a Lion Turtle thing. EDIT: To add on, here's my theory on Unaloq. Maybe he still isn't supremely evil, but at the same time I'm thinking his motives will be insane. Unaloq has this fascination of returning mankind to its previous state through spiritual practices, but perhaps rather than just a century or two ago, Unaloq wants things the way they were when Raava and Vaatu were in constant struggle. He may not want the world to be protected by someone like his niece or any other human again. So there are two ways of doing this: 1. Releasing Vaatu to destroy Korra's connection with Raava. This however will create 10,000 years of darkness, but eventually Raava would emerge within Vaatu and start over. 2. Unaloq may believe there's a way to bring Raava back without the need of 10,000 years of darkness. Something speaks to me, with how Unaloq has entered the Spirit World, is that he probably has been speaking with Vaatu. Vaatu could have convinced Unaloq that it would be beneficial to the world, for humans and spirits, if Vaatu was to struggle with Raava once again. That the Avatar is a part of the world's plights because there is a supremely powerful bender dictating peace and not spirits. Mister Jack
That raises a question, though. How did Unalaq enter the spirit world in the first place? Wan separated the two worlds and the avatar is supposed to be the only person who can move in between the two at will.
