Just watched the new Korra. Was it worth waking up early? No. The episode was great, but I love my sleep too much.

anyways

Really good fight scenes in this episode, and nice to see the Fire Ferrets only lost because the Wolf-bats were literally cheating and paying off the refs. I don't know how much more clearly they can turn a blind eye when they're using ice.

And the equalists officially declaring war, followed by Korra kicking some equalist ass? Yes plz. Sweet animations

If any of you guys miss the new episodes in the morning and don't feel like waiting until Sunday for Nick's online episode, I've found a user on Justin.tv that records Saturday morning cartoons. They don't look exactly pretty when in full screen, but he/she is recording about 5 hours of video in 2.5 hour parts. I don't know when the person takes it down either, but you'll at least have it for Saturday when it comes to Legend of Korra.

"Live Cartoons"

Anyway, about this episode.

It was still great, but this might be my least favorite given that...

in most animated shows, only the protagonists may come to the realization that the antagonist/opponent is cheating, but the whole time everyone knows illegal moves are being pulled off. The announcer even says it himself by saying the refs must be paid off. How would anyone be fine with that once the match is over? Though, we didn't have to come to that since Amon and his Equalist goons stole the spotlight.

I think once Amon took over that's when the episode became great. In a sense, Amon's words were to the point. Everyone knew the Wolf Bats were cheating, but they were the victors. They abused their powers and became the "best" at the sport. It wasn't hard for him to create a social commentary out of it.

As for the second flashback, I wonder if more will be revealed depending on who Korra is in contact with. Just a hunch, but we saw more of Toph when Lin was playing an active role in the episode.

Tracking back to the beginning with Lin...

Did anyone else feel like that was quite the leap Korra took into thinking Tenzin and Lin use to be a couple? Like, it makes sense now with Tenzin and Lin, but for Korra to suspect that Lin was the other woman Tenzin was dating when Pema told him of her feelings was quite ballsy.

Poor Beifong women, never getting the men they desire in the end.

Ending was quite fantastic though, what with all the advanced metalbending. Quite a few times I was singing "Spider-man, Spider-man... does whatever a spider..."

Oh, and Pabu. You know what I'm talking about! PABU!
