Mr. GOH!
The action queue was good, but I thought it clashed terribly with the direct control you have over character movement.
TCP
Daayyum, Dragon Age, you lookin' good.
Mr. GOH!
They're certainly saying the right things about this one. Still gonna wait for reviews to buy.
deanb
I kinda like DA:Os specific little zones, with a overworld map for moving about the region. This is certainly looking good though, I think they've realised folks disliked DA2 a fair chunk (hopefully it doesn't require knowing DA2's full story) and made sure to address criticisms with it. I'm kinda getting a bit lenient on it's play style too. Certainly looks pretty, shame that guy that burnt up went from charred skeleton, to dying as a solid clothed ragdoll, but it's still in development. (This post made at the 8 minute mark btw). Mr. GOH!
I get the sense DA:I will be like DA:O as far as world structure goes, except DA:I's zones will be large and open. The zones will also be farther apart in the world rather than all in one country. Edited July 10, 2014 by Mr. GOH!
deanb
Some more gameplay Also isn't this meant to be a hundred years or so after DA:O/DA2? What's Leliana doing in here?
TheMightyEthan
No, it's basically right after DA2. *Edit* - More specifically, Dragon Age: Origins starts in the year 9:30, Dragon Age 2 goes from 9:30 to 9:40, and Inquisition follows the events of a book called Dragon Age: Asunder, set in 9:40. Mr. GOH!
It's about ten years after the end of DA:O, and immediately after DA2. Varric was a companion in DA2 and that he returns in DA:I has been public knowledge for a long, long time.
Mister Jack
All that happened in only ten minutes?!
Vecha
"HEY EVERYONE LISTEN TO MY VOICE! I'M A DEV! I MADE THIS GAME! THANK YOU!" Tactics look...decent. I dunno. I'll wait and see.
Mr. GOH!
MisterJack: Ignore the colon; it's a weird affectation of the game lore that amounts to "hey, look, we do years differently!" For some reason, Bioware wanted to use an age and year system ratehr than a straight year system for the Dragon Age universe's time keeping followed by the year of that age after the colon. So "9:40" is the 40th year of the 9th age. This is dumb, because all the ages are 100 years long and named (the current age is the Dragon Age). To notate the year as 9:40 Dragon is just really redundant.
TheMightyEthan
I didn't realize all the ages are 100 years. Yeah, that is really fucking stupid. It should just be 9:40 or 40 Dragon, and it should be possible to get to like 9:157 or whatever.
TCP
To be fair, that's how they write the year in Edmonton.

TheMightyEthan
Inquisition's been delayed from October 7 to November 18. This throws off my whole gaming calendar for this fall. Now I've got a massive dead zone between Destiny and Assassin's Creed, and only a week between the Master Chief Collection and Inquisition. TheMightyEthan
Once I decided for sure I was getting it I started limiting my exposure to gameplay and stuff, so I can go into it fresh.
Mr. GOH!
Really? So you missed the announcement that it's a hybrid puzzle fighter and grand strategy game?

TheMightyEthan
From the ESRB rating description: characters depicted topless or with exposed buttocks while lying in bed or after sex I'm sure the sex scenes will be just as awkward as all of Bioware's other games, but thank god they're getting rid of the weird "keep clothes on while sexing" thing.

deanb
Some DA:I PC gameplay as part of an Extra Life stream. Huh, seems to have the same loot finding mechanic of Witcher.
SomTervo
Somebody try and sell me this game. I played the first Dragon Age for about two hours, didn't dig it at all, put the series down, and now this one is generating so much noise it's getting hard to ignore. Why the hype, dudelies and dudettes?
