Mister Jack
This is one time where I actually hope they pimp out a bunch of DLC characters. I'll buy it (unless it's more shit characters like Fat Princess). Having a game with a bunch of Playstation icons and not having Solid Snake in there is inexcusable. TCP
Yeah especially since they did this commercial last year: http://youtu.be/mdWkKKSckNk Here's Sony, admitting who the Playstation (or at least PS3) icons are, yet most of them are missing from the game called PLAYSTATION ALL-STARS!!! IT DON'T MAKE NO SENSE! That said, I'm still totally excited. Edited October 15, 2012 by TheCowboyPoet
Strangelove
I think it's mostly a budget issue. They can't afford the bigger third party characters. Superbot is a new developer and I dont think Sony wants to use up that much money for this unproven concept. I am surprised Ezio or Connor arent in it. Ubisoft whores out AC like a motherfucker. Dammit, that Micheal ad just reminded me of how awesome it would be to have Isaac Clark in a fighting game. Goddammit. TheMightyEthan
Maybe MGS has a deal with Nintendo that they can't put their characters in a game that competes with SSMB?
Mister Jack
Well Raiden is in there so you know. And they could maybe get away with using Big Boss even if that was the case, since they're not technically the same character do ho ho ho ho. TheMightyEthan
Oh, I missed Raiden. Nevermind.
TCP
Eric Laden (voice of Cole) tweeted about recording dialog/motion-cap with David Hayter before the game was even announced. Which makes me think Solid Snake/Big Boss/whoever will be in the game as DLC. I'm fine with that, I understand it's a business, but I don't think it's the best idea, we'll see. Mister Jack
If you have either a Playstation Plus account or a Playstation Vita, you can now download a beta for this game.
Strangelove
I downloaded it at work, but I haven't gotten home to try it.
Mister Jack
Jesus Christ, I never realized just how overpowered Kratos is compared to everyone else in the beta.
CorgiShinobi
So those teaser trailers were in fact for PlayStation All-Stars. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rPRXZiffNAQ Gotta love how they try to go for a "badass" feel, and then at 0:58 that pretty much goes out the window. TCP
Quit hating on Sackboy, that was fantastic.
CorgiShinobi
Pfft, I like Sackboy, but the whole thing reminds me again why I look at All-Stars Battle Royale as this odd duck of a game. The assortment of fun and loveable characters versus the troubled and violent ones. I mean, really, they're pushing for a dark, almost underground vibe for the video, but Sackboy comes flying in on his jetpack smiling the whole time. TCP
I think it's representive of the game... it's kind of quirky and all over the place... kind of like PlayStation

Strangelove
http://blog.us.playstation.com/2012/11/15/first-playstation-all-stars-dlc-kat-and-emmett-join-the-battle-royale-for-free/ Kat(Gravity Rush) and Emmett(Starhawk) dlc characters incoming. Free for first 2 weeks when they get released, which seems to not be for a while since they barely started working on it. This is awesome. Luftwaffles
Kat is about enough to make me want that game. Play the beta. It'll change your mind.
TheMightyEthan
Doubt it, seems like a couch-multi game, and I don't have anyone to do that with.
Saturnine Tenshi
I've been listlessly keeping up with this one, and I'm still not sure how I feel about it. I think it's the characters: they don't mesh together in my mind. Smash Brothers just felt right—even now with its Sonic (who was the anti-Mario for so long). TheMightyEthan
I agree. It works well with the more cartoony characters that make up most of Nintendo's lineup, not as much with the more serious ones Sony has.
Thursday Next
Seems to be reviewing fairly well. I like a bit of local MP as well. Will almost certainly pick them up today.
TCP
I feel like I'm just scratching the surface with this game but a few early thoughts... I started off with Drake's storyline, who I enjoyed playing as. Then I tried Raiden... a million times better. Practice Mode is a good way to get trophies. People online are significantly better than me. Playing a free for all with three other people on the Vita screen is hard to do, other wise it's nice having the Vita option. I wish the game either shared a trophy list like Retro City Rampage or trophies carried over like Sound Shapes / MGS Collection.
Alex Heat
I'm going to second Ethan and Saturn. I played it for a few hours today and it just felt...kind of soulless and everything seemed really out of place.
